Chapter 5
Juliet
Savannah couldn't stand her friend in tears. She went out and told Edwards that Juliet wasn't home.
He looked at her awkwardly. Guessing by his looks Savannah was almost sure he didn't buy her lie. But subsequently to her relief, he drove away taking her information to his master.
Half an hour later, Nikolas was in Savannah’s entrance in the Avatar of a raged devil. “Savannah I know you are watching me through the peephole and I also know you lied to my driver. If you want me to behave with you civilly, you better open the door. Otherwise I have many other options which you would not like to witness.
Savannah’s face lost its color after she heard Nikolas. She knew the sort of asshole he can be. Better not meddle with a monster. Not saying a boo, she opened the door.
As they went face to face, Nikolas pushed her aside and walked in.
“Hey where are you going? You can't walk into my house without my permission.”
She still possessed the guts to counter him. Nikolas did not like her choice of words. Nobody dared to question him. They only listen. He would drive her up the wall to counter his decision. But that was a choice for another day. In the present he needs to deal with the situation in hand. Juliet is carrying his child, the heir of Ries Industries. There is no way he was going to set her free.
“Permission? You lost claiming that respect once you lied to my driver.” He pushed aside the curtains in search of Juliet in case she was hiding behind them. Suddenly he bent down and his eyes were under the cot.
“Tell your friend not to play games with me. Because when I start playing nobody can play better than me. I know the sort of a brat Juliet can be. Tell her to be in my office tomorrow sharp by nine. Otherwise you know the outcome.” His eyes were profound on her with a tone that hinted not to meddle.
Savannah shivered under his feral gaze. “I will tell her once she is at home.” Her voice was weak, not more than a whisper. But the lucky thing was Nikolas could hear her.
“Good, that is the reply I expect from you.”

As soon as Juliet reached home, Savannah told her everything about Nikolas and his blow of anger upon her. “I am sorry Savannah.” Juliet felt the guilt of subjecting her friend to the monsterity of the mob boss. An obstruction rose in her throat due to panic. This was her shit and she needed to sort it out on her own.
“You can't fight him. That's clear to me now after he visited my house. You can only deal with tact. All the best.” Savannah hugged her wishing the best.
Half an hour later she was looking down at her royal blue shift dress, hands tucked underneath her thighs, crossing and uncrossing her feet, encased in matching blue pumps. She was tense is an understatement.
Juliet slowly became aware of the atmosphere in the opulent but terrorizing room. A man with a burly physique stood a few feet away looking ahead with a revolver tucked to his waist band. He was probably a bodyguard. She wondered how much the Mafia invested towards security. This wasn't a place she was supposed to be. Her stomach churned with the evoking.
Studying the small tightly gathered group who were standing chatting, her conscience had been acute at the sight of one man. He stood slightly apart from the rest and reeked dominance, which just screamed for her attention.
His large masculine frame was almost Greek God like, her mom would have described him as built like a brick outhouse, and she stifled a gulp. Seriously? What the hell was wrong with her? She was just there to request Nikolas Ries to set her free.
Honestly, an emotional wreck should have been hung on a sign around her neck! If not for the child growing in her, Juliet would have taught this guy a good lesson for messing with her at the wrong time. She was not going to abort the child though it was purely an incident that she did not imagine to happen even in her dream.
Resuming her study, she looked back at him; the broad shoulders tapered down to a narrow waist, creating the perfect V shape. His hair was almost black, and he had a deep cleft chin. His lips were sinful looking, full and heart shaped. Not the sort of lips a man should have. A Greek God encased in a suit; it didn’t get any better in her frenzy mind about how oracular he was. Looks can be misleading and he was an apt example of it. For the striking looks he possessed he was completely opposite from within.
Savannah would kick her if she knew she called him attractive. For the man who had destroyed her life and broken her engagement with the guy she loved with this deceptive pregnancy, he is far away from being personable.
She really needed to get a grip on her senses and remind herself exactly what she was there for. No one in their right mind would want to exchange places with Juliet, having been framed to a surrogacy contract.
She had first noticed him when he had made the hairs on the back of her neck stand to attention. Her mind lost control. She remembers raising her left hand and rubbing at her neck, beneath her long brown hair.
Then she continued to stare. He was the man in command giving orders to his men. The way his hands moved and eyes locked with the men around him reeked dominance, power and rule.
From ten feet away, he had slowly shifted his gaze from the men to her, and from the moment her eyes had fallen into his emerald green pools, they had been held captive. She is trapped.
Chapter 62Juliet wasn't bothered if Nikolas would come to know about her. “What's the worst that could happen, Fredrick? He will know I am alive and will come to kill me. In a way it's a liberation for all the injustice I have done to him. Let him go on.” Before Fredrick could respond Savannah stopped her.She had already reached the penthouse with her luggage. “Fredrick, Juliet will talk to you later.” She snatched the phone from her hand and disconnected the call.“What were you speaking to your lawyer, Juliet? You wanted to sell the hospital? Do not be a stupid girl. Selling the hospital will not solve your issues. You belong here, so you stay here. Secondly, you have done no injustice to Nikolas and you have not done anything wrong. Anybody in place of you will try to run away from the situation to save the baby. Like you said before, you haven't chosen this life. He forced you in
Chapter 61Savannah was fanning her face with her right hand and laughing at the expression on Juliet’s face as she magnified the image on her phone of Walter Monroe. The picture showed a tall, dirty-blond haired, gorgeous man. He was dressed in a three piece black business suit. His mariner-blue eyes were round that darted with the vigour of youth in a milky pool. They clearly warned that messing up with him was not a wise option. His vision was stationed ahead at something in appraisal. One could easily tell by the fabric of his suit that he could feed the whole city of New York for a week and still not hurt his pocket. In short he was a complete package of looks, power and money. “Mmm hmm” left Juliet's lips after she analysed his appearance.“Do I hear wedding bells again?” Savannah decided to pull Juliet's leg for the way she was looking at the photo of Walter.“Stop it!” Juliet ordered her friend. Sav
Chapter 60Early the next morning Nikolas got up with a beep on his phone that shook him with excitement and rolled him on the clouds.Juliet sent him an email.Hello Mr Enoch Rowan,Thank you for the opportunity. I am glad that I am the orthopedician that you have selected out of the many applications you might have received. I’m looking forward to starting work in the coming week. The net reads a lot about you. I find you to be a great entrepreneur with tough hands.BestJuliet Greenfield****Nikolas pumped his fist in the air. Savannah rightfully fell for his bait and influenced her friend. Otherwise Juliet wouldn't have ever applied for a job in New york. The place would get her back many memories along with the fear running on him. He knows about her too well.HelloYou are welcome, Ms Greenfield. Let me know if you want me to add anything more in the remuneration form, I will be more tha
Two days later“Jules, over here.” Savannah called, looking at the computer before her. Her sloe shaped eyes shone as bright as the evening stars which lit up with joy.“What is it?” Jules just had a clean up of her face after walking inside the house. She had a couple of walk-ins during the day which she completed and came home.“You got mail from Rowan Enterprises.” Savannah shook Juliet with happiness. “You will be treating Mr Walter Monroe, the brother in law of the company’s CEO Enoch Rowan for the next six months.” Her voice was foghorn loud booming out a guffaw.“Already? Rowan Enterprises? I thought it was a referral job from my previous employer Ms Sakinaka. They are so fast.” Juliet stared at the mail doubtfully.Since the time she is booked by Mollie with a surrogacy contract Juliet's perception towards looking at things changed drastically. Nikolas was spotless, but
Two days later Walter was discharged from the hospital. Though he was completely fine the pain in his right hand was severe. He was given a cast and the doctor advised the consultation of an orthopedic doctor. “There is a degradation of cartilage between the joint and two fractures, one major and another minor due to the fall after the bullet hit him. Because attending to the heart was more important, we took care of his chest before the hand.”“Sure, no issues.” Nikolas found the advice of the physician as a divine opportunity to reconnect with Juliet.Juliet hadn't met Walter before and she is now a certified orthopaedic surgeon who can treat him. Vladimir too needs his mom's care. Happy reels began to turn in the head of Nikolas.“Do as I say.” He called Xavier and gave him instructions on what should be done next after they brought Walter home.*****“What?&
The last thought before Walter welcomed the dark world was he had finally attained justice to his wife. He took the bullet instead of Nikolas and he killed Rancho. Nobody in the world can give him better justice than Nikolas for both of them were sailing in the same boat. All these years that he cried for the loss of his wife, she will now live at peace in heaven. Walter called it a night after establishing his war on Rancho a hundred percent success and closed his eyes.Nikolas immediately rushed Walter to the hospital. The doctor checked his pulse to assess his physical state which was very volatile.“Will he live?” Nikolas asked the physician in worry.“I can't promise you anything right now. Inform your family to be in the hospital as soon as possible.” The doctor spoke before leaving for the surgery room and the stretcher of Walter followed behind. Two hours later, the doctor came out of t
