Se connecterSTEFFANO's POV
“Ahhhh, I’m coming, Steffan! Ohhh!”
I shook my head at the woman’s loud moans as she rode me. I grabbed my glass of whiskey and downed it while watching her play with her breasts right in front of me.
I grew bored of what she was doing, so I pushed her away and turned her around.
“Ahhh!” she screamed as I thrusted hard and fast into her.
I frowned and covered her mouth. At first, I used to enjoy how loud she was whenever we had sex, but now, I was sick of the noise.
I slapped her ass hard and squeezed my eyes shut as a memory flashed through my mind.
She declined my offer? One billion, and she doesn’t want it? She’s getting married? And so? I don’t fcking care about that!
“Ahhh! Y-you’re hurting me, Stef. I—I can’t breathe!”
When I opened my eyes, I cursed as I realized my hand was already wrapped around Ava’s neck. I growled as I reached my climax, that woman’s face filling my thoughts.
I pulled away from Ava immediately, hearing her cough. I removed the condom, heavy with what I had released, and tossed it into the trash.
More still spilled from me, and Ava tried to kneel down to catch it—but I shoved her away. She fell hard onto the bed.
“Argh! What’s wrong with you, Steffano?” she said as she stood, rubbing her reddened neck.
I pinched the bridge of my nose and massaged my aching head, irritated by her shrill voice.
I stood up and got dressed.
“Oh my God! You’re leaving? But it’s still early—”
I pulled out a box from my suit and threw it onto the bed. I shook my head when I saw her eyes light up.
“What’s this? A c-card?” she said, wide-eyed as she took out the bank card inside.
“I put five million on that card. I slept with you five times, right? Go buy whatever you want, Ava—”
She threw the card back at me and stormed over. “My name is not Ava! It’s Eva! And what? A million per sex? What do you think I am, a paid woman? I dated you because I like you—”
“Cut the crap. We’re done, Ava.”
“No! I turned down a marriage proposal from a senator, and you’re just going to dump me?! I chose you, Steffano! You have to take responsibility—oh my gosh!” she screamed, collapsing in front of me when I pulled out the gun hidden in my suit.
“When I say it’s over, it’s over. Don’t mess with me, Evangeline Scott. You don’t know me that well. I can pull this trigger and—bam—you’re gone. As if you never existed in this world. You like that?”
“N-no…” I saw her trembling, and strangely, that excited me more than her performance earlier.
“Goodbye. Since I scared you, I would add another one million to that card. Enjoy your shopping.”
When I stepped outside, I immediately tossed the fake gun to Elias.
“Any update on Marchessa?”
“Boss, he’s still being stubborn. He won’t agree to a hundred million. He wants five hundred for the land Ynares wants.”
I nodded. “Is that so? Then plan B. Find his mistress and bring her to me. He wants more? Too bad, he’s going to take less than what I offered.”
“Yes, boss!” he said, snapping a salute.
I turned to Israel. “The thing I asked you to do, any updates?”
He nodded and handed me his phone. A slow, satisfied smile curved my lips when I saw the photos on the screen.
You’re getting married? Let’s see if that will really happen, Rebecca.
“I want more pictures. If possible, videos. Even better.”

“I DON’T WANT TO! I don’t want to drink that! It tastes awful!”
“Oh my dear, if you don’t drink this, you’ll be taken to the doctor again and you’ll get another injection. Don’t say I didn’t warn you—”
“Stephie, just drink your medicine so we can sleep already. Tomorrow, I’ll let you watch Barbie. Deal?” Savvy said.
“No deal! I don’t want to!”
I sighed and entered my princess’s room. “What’s all the commotion about?”
“Dad!” Savvy called and hurried toward me.
I lifted him up right away and ruffled his hair. “It’s late. You still have an exam with Teacher Marie tomorrow, don’t you?”
“That’s easy, Dad. I can handle it. Stephie just won’t drink her medicine. She’s been giving Grandma Glo a hard time.”
I put him down and looked at Grandma Glo, who gave me a helpless smile. “Your princess is having another episode.”
I smiled and held her shoulder. “Put Savvy to bed, Grandma. I’ll take care of Stephie.”
“Alright then. I’ll leave her to you.”
I took off my suit and lay down beside my princess, who had her back to me and was buried under her comforter.
“Princess Stephanie, what’s wrong? Didn’t I tell you that you need to drink your medicine so you won’t have trouble breathing again? And so you can get better?”
I pulled the blanket away and froze when I saw the picture in her hand.
My jaw tightened, anger surging in my chest at the woman in that photo. I wanted to grab it and tear it to pieces, but I forced myself to calm down.
“You said Mommy is coming home. You said I’d get better. But I didn’t. I still can’t run. I can’t even play for long with Savvy. You’re a liar, Daddy!” she sobbed.
The anger in my chest melted away. I lifted my daughter into my arms.
“Sweetheart, has Daddy ever broken a promise to you? Your Mommy is coming back. But you need to be a good girl. How will you get better if you don’t take your medicine?”
She looked up at me and touched my cheek. “When will that be, Daddy?”
I smiled and gently pinched her cheek. “Soon, princess. Very, very soon.”
I’ll do everything in my power to get that woman.
“So please do Daddy a favor—stop being stubborn and listen to Grandma Glo. Okay?”
She bowed her head and nodded. “Okay, Daddy. I’m sorry if I made you sad.”
I kissed her forehead and picked up her medicine. “Do you want me to read your favorite fairytale?”
She nodded with a smile and hugged me.
“…and they lived happily ever after.”
I closed the book and gently stroked my daughter’s cheek as she slept. My gaze drifted to the picture she was clutching tightly.
Why did they even see that damned photo?
Why wasn’t it thrown away?
I cursed myself for my own stupidity.
“Any update, Doctor Clinton?”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Davidson. Unfortunately—”
“Damn it! How big of a donation do I still need to give your hospital just to find my daughter a heart?! It’s been three months!”
“Mr. Davidson, we’re doing everything we can. Rest assured, Stephie is our top priority for a heart transplant. As soon as we find a compatible donor, we will update you—”
“You haven’t done everything! Do something! I don’t care how expensive the heart my daughter needs is!”
I hurled the glass in my hand against the wall and collapsed onto the bed.
Rebecca Watson… I need you.
“She’s already responsive. Since she can breathe on her own now, we’ve removed the ventilator,” the doctor who performed Stephie’s surgery explained. “She’s been asking for you—especially her mom. If her condition continues to improve, we can transfer her out of the ICU in a day or two.”I tightened my grip on Steffano’s hand at the news.“And by the way,” the doctor added gently, “I heard about what happened before her last attack. I’m sorry. But please make sure not to say anything that might trigger strong emotions. Her condition is still delicate—her body is still adjusting to the new heart.”“Yes, doctor. Thank you again,” I said sincerely.“You can see her now. I’ll leave you to it. Just call if you need anything.”As soon as the doctor left, Steffano and I entered the ICU hand in hand.A nurse who had been monitoring Stephie stood up and quietly excused herself.Stephie’s eyes were closed at first… but after a few seconds, they slowly opened.“M…Mommy?”I could read her lips.S
STEFFANO“What’s your plan now, Steffano?” Lucian asked, his voice serious.I lit the cigarette between my lips and glanced at the lifeless body being loaded into Rigor’s car trunk. What are they going to do with him?Burn him. Erase every trace of what we did.“That bastard Paredes,” Lucian cursed under his breath, then louder, rage spilling out of him. “He challenges you to a drag race, then pulls that shit? Damn animal! So many innocent people got dragged into his worthless revenge!”He took a long swig straight from the bottle.I grabbed mine and drank..This isn’t the time to drink.I know that. There’s still too much to do.But if I don’t—I might lose my mind.“I’m going to tear him apart, Lucian,” I said coldly, taking another drink. “I’ll destroy him so badly he’ll regret not making sure I was the one who died. An easy death? No… I’m not giving him that. I’ll make him suffer first—until he begs me to kill him.”“What about Denaros?” Lucian asked. “How did you even recognize t
STEFFANO“Are you really going to take the law into your own hands?”Rebecca’s question kept echoing in my head as the elevator descended.Revenge never ends, Ama Juancho once told me. It’s an endless fight. If you can, choose to close your eyes and let time punish those who wronged you. Because sometimes, in chasing revenge… you become just like them. That was his advice the day I told him I wanted to avenge my parents—the people who were dragged to their graves because of others. He didn’t agree. But he didn’t stop me either.I didn’t agree with him back then… but I respected him. So I focused on everything he taught me instead.Even after he died, I held myself back.I didn’t pursue revenge. Not for my parents. Not for my lost sister. They say when you seek revenge, you dig two graves…One for your enemy. And one for yourself.“Boss,” one of my men reported through the phone, “he’s not talking. He said even if he does… he’ll still end up dead.”My fist clenched, the bones cracking
“M-mommy?”I opened my eyes at the sound of that trembling voice—and froze when I saw Savvy standing there, crying.“You’re still alive,” he sobbed as he rushed into my arms.I sat up and hugged him tightly. “Of course I am, sweetheart. What’s wrong?”I glanced around the room. Steffano was gone—I remembered he’d been lying beside me earlier.“I thought you were gone,” Savvy said, his voice shaking as he looked up at me. “I woke up, and you weren’t there. I got scared. Mon brought me here because I said I wanted to see you.”My heart clenched.“I had a nightmare, mommy… it was so scary. Everyone was gone.”I gently cupped his face, aching at the fear in his eyes.“It was just a dream, Savvy,” I said softly. “That won’t happen. We’re not going anywhere. We’ll stay with you.”“S-Stephie, mommy?” he asked, his voice small. “How is she?”I swallowed.“The surgery is done,” I said carefully. “It was successful. We just need to wait for her recovery.”“She’s going to be okay?”“Hopefully,”
“Mommy… is Stephie going to be okay?”I gently brushed Savvy’s hair back and adjusted the blanket around him. His eyelids were heavy, but sleep still wouldn’t take him.“They’re doing everything they can to save your sister,” I whispered softly. “She’s going to be okay…”She has to be.“Go to sleep, Savvy.”“I-I’m scared,” he murmured, his eyes finally closing.I kissed his forehead and lightly patted his chest. “Don’t be. Mommy’s right here.”A few minutes later, his breathing evened out.He was asleep.I stayed a little longer, making sure he was truly resting before quietly slipping out of the hospital room where we were staying while Stephie was still in surgery. The moment I stepped outside, Mon and the others straightened.“There’s an extra bed inside,” I told them gently. “You should get some rest.”“We’re fine, ma’am,” one of them replied. “Are you going to see Boss?”I nodded. “Yes. Please keep a close eye on Savvy.”“We can escort you—”“It’s okay,” I cut in softly. “The ope
Please… save Stephie. Save everyone… I’m begging You.The prayer echoed over and over in my head as we waited outside the emergency room.Stephie.Alexa.Sigmund.And the others who had been shot.Even Glo didn’t make it out unscathed. Two of the house staff were injured too. Three of Steffano’s men had taken bullets—throwing themselves in front of us just to keep us alive. The hallway felt suffocating.Too bright.Too loud.Too quiet all at once.“Why is the doctor taking so long, Cesar?!” Mrs. Cedes sobbed uncontrollably. There were too many of us, so they didn’t allow everyone inside. All we could do was wait.Wait for answers.Wait for mercy.Steffano had stepped out earlier with Lucian when the police arrived. Now I sat there, clutching Savvy, surrounded by chaos.I glanced at Boston. She sat frozen.Staring at her blood-covered hands—the same hands she had used to press against Sigmund’s wound earlier. Her dress was stained. Her face was pale.Empty.Why did this have to happen?
“Wow, your sunny-side-up eggs are perfect, Mommy!” Stephie exclaimed, making me laugh. The way she praised it, you’d think I had cooked something incredibly complicated.“Do you want more toast, Savvy?” I asked when I noticed he was almost done with what was on his plate.“Yes, please,” he replied,
STEFFANOI don’t do cuddling after sex… so what am I doing now?I thought to myself as I looked at Rebecca, completely exhausted after the countless times we had each other. My hand lifted on its own, gently brushing her cheek. She let out a soft moan and pulled herself closer to me. I swallowed ha
“Mommy! Don’t go!”I cried out as I watched my mom dragging her suitcase toward the door.I struggled against Grandma’s grip and ran after her, throwing my arms around her waist.“Please don’t go, Mommy! I—I promise I’ll be good!”She gently pried my arms away and knelt in front of me.“I’m sorry,
I used to have a lot of friends when I was a kid.Even though I didn’t grow up in a complete family, I was never really lonely. I loved making new friends… but I remember having one problem.I got attached too easily.Back in grade school, I had a friend who died.I still remember how devastated I
