"Do you guys go out at all? I mean do you take walks or go to the mall?" Annah asked.

It was evening time, two weeks after she showed up on their doorstep, drunk and almost dead. There were many things she was grateful for and she loved being here, but still, she wanted human interaction, someone she could talk to asides her uncle and his wife and she longed for that interaction.

"We do but only if it's absolutely necessary," Matt said, walking into the kitchen.

He was holding several nylon bags of things he had bought and Annah knew that he had just come back from outside.

"You went out?" she asked.

"Yeah, I needed to get some things for the house." he smiled.

He placed the bag on the kitchen counter, going over to the sink to wash his hands. He smiled at his wife, giving her a small kiss on her lips. Annah sighed, longing for something like that but deep down, she knew she might never get it because she had never really loved any man. Instead, she had been used.
