If Rita could run and hide, she would have done that but she knew it wasn't possible because she was locked in the house and there was possibly no way she could leave. As it stood, she knew that Connor had placed the house in a total lockdown and there was possible no way she could get out of here without being caught. As it stood, she was in a very dicey situation and she knew that it would only take a stroke of luck for her to survive today.
