Anastasia: “You’re kidding, right?” I asked Blake who just called me to inform that another Z case appeared. Only difference is, this time it was in an aisle by the station, but that’s not what was concerning us; the man wasn’t caught on camera. “No, I am literally saying the man wasn’t caught on any cameras. The cop who was on duty was slaughtered and was left by his police car” Blake said sounding alarmed. I ran out of the Estate’s office, heading toward the door. Aunt Nikita wouldn’t let me go out unless I drank my coffee, and a while into that, Sebastian and Viktor came. Therefore, work at the station was delayed a bit. “I’m on my way over” I said heading to the front door. “What’s going on?” Aunt Nikita asked frowning. Her and Iris walked toward the door, Sebastian and Viktor were following close behind already picking up on the situation. “I need to head to the station, can you have Elijah and Yaroslav come if they’re not busy?” I asked and she nodded. I left the house with
Elijah: I glared at the wall in front of me as I held the glass of whiskey in my hand. My grip tight on it, turning it white and for a second, I wondered when it would be breaking under my grip. Anastasia’s words played over and over in my head. The way she looked at me, and the way her eyes reddened as tears threatened to fall from them. The way her voice hardened and her eyes turned cold as she glared at me. Everything about her body language played over and over. I glared at the glass in my hand before throwing it against the wall, watching as its glass shattered. I went back home after our encounter. Yaroslav noticing my anger, didn’t need to ask twice as I suppose he heard the two of us talking anyway. I could hear Aunt Nikita out of my office’s door, speaking to Yaroslav. I ran my fingers through my hair before I sat on my desk. The need to punch someone in the face growing stronger with each passing second, and the pain that I was feeling in my chest didn’t make things any
Anastasia: I laid my head on my desk as I waited for time to pass. My heart ached and I had to fight back the urge to sob as I recalled yesterday’s and this morning’s events. Sebastian and Viktor haven’t said a word since entering the office. Having heard the conversation firsthand, Viktor must have known that it took me everything to come here today, and judging by how quiet Sebastian was, I guessed that Viktor might have told him about what happened. “Anastasia, if you want to leave; there’s nothing to take care of here anyway. We already brought what we needed from the station, and judging by the current circumstances, we need nothing for now until we’ve been able to at least access the cameras” Viktor said putting a hand on my shoulder. He squeezed it gently, assuring me that it would be fine, but it hurt, and the funny part was; I wasn’t even sure why it did. “I’m fine, Viktor, don’t worry” I said looking at him. The man knew that I was lying, the bags under my eyes proved th
Elijah:“What do you mean her phone is off?” I asked Sebastian who shook his head.“The woman is in pain, what do you expect, Elijah?” Viktor asked “okay, say that you’re angry that she judged you based on the man dying. Don’t you at least care that she’s in pain too? You haven’t bothered looking in her direction since that happened…”“She made her choice, and I believe that you saw that firsthand” I said stopping him.“And you didn’t bother going after her, fighting her for it. Fucking hell, yell at her, let her yell back; then go back to normal. No? That didn’t occur to you, did it?” Viktor asked, snapping back at me. I had to fight back punching the idiot in the face as he glared at me. The two of us were chest to chest as he spoke, and I knew that he was waiting for me to react. However, I wasn’t going to do so, not now anyway.“Call her to come here. She has work to finish and I don’t think that you’re the ones who should be taking care of everything” I said glaring at Viktor.“I
Anastasia: “No” Viktor said handing me my badge. “Viktor…” “Look, Anastasia, you’re angry now. You’re in pain, you don’t want to see Elijah…” “Elijah has nothing to do with this, Viktor” I said stopping him. Viktor’s eyes met mine, studying my expression, knowing very well that I wasn’t being entirely truthful. Blake watched the scene in silence, knowing that he mostly had part of what happened. Him and Jason showing me that video was the main reason why I wanted to leave. I couldn’t stand looking at them knowing that they double crossed me by sending the man to a case that they knew I was in charge of. It didn’t make things any better that the whole situation lead to me losing someone that I truly cared for either. “Anastasia, you can’t make a decision like this one and just expect us to say ‘okay, go ahead’” Sebastian said from behind Viktor. The man has been quiet as he watched the scene and listened to what I said. I knew that the men believed that what I was doing was reckles
Elijah:I raised an eyebrow at Blake who entered the club, searching for me.The bouncers at the door had already told me of his arrival. Therefore, I waited for him to come up to the VIP lounge to see what he wanted. Yaroslav sat beside me, taking a sip of his drink as he glared at him.“And to what do I owe he honor?” I asked putting my glass down. Blake’s eyes seemed to be scanning the area, a look of worry covering his expression.“I’m going to ask you this question once, and I’m not doing it as a cop” Blake started. His eyes met mine before he spoke “have you seen or heard of Anastasia?”“No” I said coldly. I clenched my fists at the mention of her name. I didn’t know what game the bastard was playing at, but whatever it was; I didn’t like it, and I knew that he could see it in my eyes “if that’s what you came here to ask, then get out”“Elijah, I told you, I didn’t come here as a cop, and if I had any other options; the last place I would be is here” Blake said as he saw me gett
Anastasia:The door was knocked snapping me out of my daze.“Come in” I called sitting up on Elijah’s bed to be surprised that he walked inside carrying a tray of food “you just knocked the door to come inside your own room?”“You could have wanted your privacy, and whether or not it’s my room; you’re still inside” Elijah said placing the tray on the bedside table. I’ve been here for the past three days, and I’ve barely managed to move out of this bed unless it is to go to the bathroom.“Elijah, I’m not hungry…”“I know, but your body needs nutrition. I know you’re in pain, but I don’t want you collapsing” Elijah said gently “just a bite or two would be okay, yeah? You’re drinking water, and I think for now, your body would be able to handle it without a full meal”I looked down at my lap, my hands were placed on my lap in front of me. Elijah stayed quiet, allowing me the time to process things, and despite the pain, I knew that what I was doing was unhealthy for me “I left you…”“Nas
Elijah: I smiled at the sight of Anastasia who was laying on the couch of my office, scrolling through her phone. I refused to let her out of the office knowing that she would end up getting lost in her thoughts, and keeping her close; I knew that I could at least see or feel whether or not there was a shift in her mood. I put the papers that I was reviewing down, and got up from my chair, heading toward her. I massaged her shoulders making her smile and raise her head to look at me. Leaning down, I connected my lips with her own, the kiss tender, gentle, and loving. It was times like this when I knew that being dominant wasn’t going to take me anywhere, and seeing as she was still weak; I chose not to deepen the kiss or take things further. She sat up, waiting for me to sit down by her side before she laid back down. Her back rested on the arm rest over my lap as I ran my fingers through her hair. She took my hand in hers, intertwining our fingers as she rested both our hands on h
