Elijah:

I watched as Anastasia walked out of the house, heading to her car which was now parked in the garage.

Aunt Nikita who was standing beside me looked at me “are you sure this is a good idea?”

“There’s no better way to stay off the grid than to bring in the grid” I said keeping my eyes on Anastasia “she’s ruined far too many businesses for me so far, and I would rather have her in front of me, watching her before I make my next move. Plus, the case does concern Alexander, and he’s one of my men; I won’t let her or her cops leave it to die”

“The girl is smart, Elijah; she won’t just give in to what you say, nor would she fall for simple tricks” Aunt Nikita warned me. I looked at her, seeing as Anastasia entered the garage, and nodded in agreement.

“I know that she is, and that is why I chose to have her instead of one of her colleagues. Her determination is one thing that I respect, and I would rather have her by my side than theirs” I said as Yaroslav walked out of the office. He handed me the file he picked out and I nodded. He was doing his search about Anastasia, we needed everything that we could find about her as to ensure that we could somewhat trust her.

“What did you find?”

“Nothing” Yaroslav said making me frown in confusion “the woman doesn’t exist, not with that last name anyway”

“So, Sangster isn’t her name” I stated looking at the file which only had her life as a cop. Whoever she was, when she was born, anything in relation to who she was before she became a cop wasn’t there “and you found these how?”

“I accessed her officer’s file, but it also says nothing about her past. The woman seemed to appear in training, where she came from before that is unknown, to us at least” Yaroslav said and Aunt Nikita raised an eyebrow, her expression told me the words she didn’t. I nodded closing the file and handing it back to Yaroslav.

“It seems like we’re going to pay someone a nice visit, send me her house’s location to my phone” I said walking out of the house. It was a while past five in the evening, a proper time for an evening tea. I walked into the garage and entered my car.

My phone vibrated as it notified me with the location which Yaroslav sent. I smirked when I caught sight of Yaroslav, Alexei, Timur, and Ian getting inside two cars, following close behind as I drove out of the garage.

“Let’s see what you’re up to, malyshka”

********************

I knocked her front door of one of the villas and was surprised when a woman in her late fifties opened the door “I’m sorry, ma’am, I was searching for a friend’s house. Her name is Anastasia? She told me she lives on this street but…”

“Nasia? She’s my daughter, she should be on her way home by now. Do come in” she said opening the door for me. I smiled and entered the house. I looked around to find the house filled with pictures of the woman and Anastasia. Their was no picture of a man, and I noticed that there weren’t any of when Anastasia was younger than seven or eight.

“Do you have any idea when she would be coming? I don’t want to disturb you…”

“You’re not disturbing me at all, son. This is the first time she’s brought a friend home since she moved here. She usually takes a round around the city then comes home. She shouldn’t be later than an hour, if you have time, would you mind me inviting you for something to drink?” She asked politely. I couldn’t help but smile at the woman who seemed genuinely curious as to know who I was.

“Water would be fine, thank you”

“Nonsense, I was just about to heat up water for an afternoon tea, but we do have coffee, which would you prefer?” I smiled and shook my head, at least I knew who she got her stubbornness from.

“Tea would be fine” I smiled and she nodded.

“Make yourself at home, this is the remote…” she handed me the TV remote and turned on receiver “you can watch whatever it is you want. I won’t be long”

I nodded and took a seat on the couch, looking around the house they lived in. The house was spacious, yet simple. Anastasia didn’t seem to have much of an effect on it as most of the decorations seemed to be of an older style, and judging by how we saw her, nothing of her own style.

I scrolled through the TV for a few minutes before I heard a loud clatter in the direction the woman went, and I assumed that it was the kitchen. Following the noise, I was sure to keep a hand on the gun in case of anything, but I was surprised to see the woman picking up a few shards of broken mugs. She was too focused on them to notice my arrival and my eyes widened when I realized how shaky her hands were and not to mention the fact that she was bleeding.

“Ma’am, let me help you, you’re only hurting yourself” I said removing the shards from her hands. Her hands shook and I frowned, helping her stand up, her eyes were fixed on me as I did. I didn’t say a word as I carefully pulled her away from the shards. The two of us walked to the sink where I washed her hand, clearing the excess blood as to see how deep the cut was. By looking at it, it wasn’t too deep, but it needed cleaning before anything.

The kettle sounded as the water boiled and I watched as it was automatically switched off before turning to the woman who was studying my expression intently “do you have a first aid kit? Something that I can use to clean these cuts? They’re not too deep, but they need to be cleaned and covered”

My voice was calm and controlled as I spoke as not to worry the woman whose hand was still shaking, she nodded and nodded at the fridge. I let her hands go and walked to the fridge to find the aid kit and sighed when I only found sanitizer and a bandage. What the hell was a bandage doing inside the fridge? I had no idea, but I wasn’t going to question them.

I helped clean her cut, tightening my grasp around her wrist as to help steady her shaking hand as I cleaned it, covering it for her. I washed my own hands before returning the sanitizer to the fridge and placing the bandage on top of the counter. I smiled and turned to face the woman who looked down at the broken shards.

“How about I make us tea, then work on getting this mess cleaned up until Anastasia arrives?” I asked breaking whatever train she was lost in. I didn’t know what the issue with the woman was, but I could already tell that whatever the case was; the woman wasn’t entirely healthy.

“Mum…” I heard Anastasia’s voice as she called when she entered the house “I’m home”

I could hear her footsteps as she walked around as if searching the house “mum, I know I’m a tad bit late, but I got caught up with… Elijah?”

Anastasia’s eyes met mine as she walked inside the kitchen only for her eyes to widen when she saw the broken shards “bloody hell, mum! Did you hurt yourself?”

Ignoring the shards, she ran to her mother’s side to check her hands “your friend helped me clean them up, I was only trying to make tea. But I don’t know what happened…”

“Don’t worry, I’ll make the tea, mum. Just go to the living room, I’ll be out with your medicine shortly, okay?” Anastasia said gently. Her mom nodded and walked out of the kitchen before Anastasia turned to glare at me “what the fuck are you doing here?”

“I believe the proper word you’re searching for is thanks” I said glaring at her.

“I swear I am not in the mood to deal with your bloody bullshit, if this is some kind of game you’re playing…”

“I’m not the one playing games here, malyshka. If I’m in your house; it’s because of the bullshit YOU’RE trying to pull off” I snapped stopping her. Anastasia frowned in confusion and I had to fight back rolling my eyes at her ignorance.

“What in the bloody world are you talking about?” Anastasia asked.

Our conversation was cut short when we heard clattering from the living room “I swear this is not the time for this. I know that this is stupid to ask, but can you please go and stay with mum for a few minutes while I clean up here? We’ll see what it is you’re on about later”

I nodded and walked towards the kitchen door without saying a word “and Elijah…”

“Yes, Anastasia?”

“Thank you”

“What do you mean that you’re selling your wife, Vladimir? Have you lost your mind?” Anastasia asked the Romanov Pakhan. Her eyes wide in surprise and confusion as they both explained their plan as if it was the most casual thing. They all sat in the office Elijah had fixed for her at the Estate. The office was renovated after they got married and regardless of it being for work, it was a lot homier than it was before. The leather couches that were added, and the wooden table which they were all sitting around now. The table now fit sixteen people rather than only six. Her desk has been changed too, and a new computer PC was brought over for her to be able to access data easily and securely. “This is a vengeance that we both swore to take, Anastasia, we cannot back away now when we’ve gotten this close to our target” Vladimir said looking her in the eye. Elijah wrapped his arm around his wife, preventing her from slapping the man in the face, knowing that she most probably would. “A

Anastasia:My heart raced as I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection in my wedding dress. The dress hugged my body perfectly, loosening at the bottom making me look like a princess, and despite not wanting it to be as exposed, seeing as I chose the V-cut that reached my breast line, I was thankful to have listened to Iris about it. The dress spoke for itself letting everyone know who would be the one person to look at me, touch me, and it spoke be jealous of it. Something that I knew Elijah tended to like.Knowing that Elijah was waiting for me at the alter, waiting to see me crossing that aisle, my heart raced. Aunt Nikita smiled, placing her hands on my shoulders, gently massaging them. She kissed the crown of my head and I found my smile growing as I looked at her. The woman has taken me in as a mother would do to her daughter, and I couldn’t have been more grateful for that.“There’s a little surprise for you from Elijah” she said gently. I frowned in confusion as

Elijah:“Would we be expecting you for dinner? Or do you plan on taking Anastasia anywhere?” Aunt Nikita asked, fixing my jacket. Anastasia already left to work with Blake a while ago. Yaroslav and I were just getting ready to head out. The day was going to be a bit of a long one, but I was happy that things were going the way the were. Anastasia was yet to see the surprise that I had for her during our honeymoon, I just hoped she that enjoys it.“We’ll be home for dinner, but if any changes are to happen; I’ll let you know” she nodded and I smiled kissing her forehead. I was thankful for having reached her at the airport before she left that night, and had it not been for Anastasia; I wouldn’t have known where she was, or when she left.Flashback:I entered the house, my hands shaking in fear when I realized that Aunt Nikita’s car wasn’t in the garage.“Aunt Nikita…” Iris stopped when she saw me, her eyes bloodshot red from crying. Anastasia shook her head and it was as if my center

Anastasia:Sometimes it is best to walk away without holding a grudge. It could be painful as hell, and you could sometimes question your as sanity. But nothing else could have been done. I couldn’t have lived with such a grudge and I knew for fact that mum wouldn’t have wanted me to hold it in me. I knew the man’s fate, and knowing that why he was doing it only made me wonder whether or not I would be the same if I went on after a revenge. Therefore, forgiving him, letting him go while he was at peace and rest seemed to be like the best option.I walked around the block feeling empty. I knew that Elijah was following me, but I couldn’t bring myself to turn around and face him. He would eventually want to know my reason and if I was to be honest; even I didn’t truly know why I did it.I sat on a nearby bench, staring at space as my heart felt empty. Elijah sat down next to me, though I could tell that he was sure to leave some space between us in case I didn’t want to be touched. But

Elijah:I stood in front of the house where I knew that my malyshka’s father lived, debating on whether or not to enter the place.I knew that it took her everything to tell me about what he told her yesterday, but seeing her as weak as she was didn’t seem to escape my mind as I thought of the pain that she’s been living through. I didn’t know why the man left his daughter to struggle like he has and why he was refusing to take her back, but whatever his reason was; I didn’t like it, and needless to say; I couldn’t accept it.“Elijah, you know that she won’t like this” Yaroslav said and I sighed. It was the only reason why I wasn’t already inside, beating the life out of that man, and teaching him his limits. I nodded but walked toward the house anyway, ignoring the clench I felt in my chest as I heard a happy family inside, one that my wife was deprived of.I raised my hand to knock the door only to quickly decide against it and walk away. Yaroslav nodded in agreement, liking the dec

Anastasia:“Bloody hell!” I whimpered as Elijah hit my G-spot while he rubbed my sensitive nub. His eyes were fixed on me as he watched me come undone under him before his own body shuddered as he reached his own climax. He rested his forehead against my own, breathing heavily as he did.My body tensed and I found myself whimpering at the loss of contact when he pulled out of me. He laid his head in the crook of my neck, kissing it gently as he fought to catch his breath. He raised himself to look at me and the smile on his face made my heart skip a beat. He ran his fingers through my hair, tucking it behind my ear, revealing my flushed face to him.“I’ve been meaning to do this since the night of the proposal” he teased and I laughed. The two of us have grown busy after he proposed to me. Both with the Verone situation and Blake being injured, the two of us barely had time to sit together let alone make love.“I missed you too” I said scratching his scruff. He smiled and took my hand

  • The Mafia and His Angel   Chapter 44

Elijah:I smirked at the sight of Verone who seemed to want to run when he saw me approaching. The man being restrained prevented him from moving, but seeing him scared to death was enough satisfaction to me.What he did to my beauty and what he made her live were two things that I would rather die than forget. The woman spent nights not being able to sleep, and seeing as he didn’t seem to care only annoyed me more than ever. I won’t even mention Aunt Nikita or Iris. My family members have been stirred since his appearance, and judging by everything; I knew that he was well aware of it, and if I dared mention it, the fucking bastard was enjoying it.I punched him in the face, breaking his jaw as I did. Anastasia wanted to be in here beside me, but I knew that I wouldn’t have been able to do this if she was here. Her soft side would take over her actions and I knew that she would have me stop.“I will ask you once, and you will answer, where are the rest of the people? Where do you hav

Anastasia:I woke up to a finger running through my hand.Opening my eyes, I sat up and looked at Blake whose drowsy eyes stared down at me as I slept on the chair, laying my head on the edge of his hospital bed.“Blake?” He smiled in response, and I couldn’t help but get up and wrap my arms around him, careful not to hurt him as I did. He chuckled and wrapped his right arm around me “you scared the bloody crap out of me”“Who knew that I needed to have a pipe inside me to have you hugging me this tightly” he teased. I pulled away to look him in the eye, my eyes watering at the sight of him. It was times like this when we both knew that we valued one another’s friendships. I would be his support and vice versa.“You scared the life out of me” I said glaring at him. The two of us have been in situations of fire, fights, car accidents, and even gunshots. But what happened with Verone was the most severe situation we were forced to deal with, and that’s something considering the fact tha

  • The Mafia and His Angel   Chapter 42

Elijah:I ran my fingers through Anastasia’s hair, gently untangling a few of her curls as we sat on the floor while she checked the security cameras on her laptop.Having gotten her clothes from the house. She was now wearing jeans and a normal t-shirt rather than the dress she was originally here with.Aunt Nikita, Iris, and dad on the couch inside the office. Iris scrolled through her phone, dad was mindlessly annoyed by the fact that we got him out of the house and the fact that he was without his bottle of whiskey, and Aunt Nikita kept shaking her legs as she worried about Verone’s presence. No one knew why she was afraid and I didn’t explain the main issue as I didn’t want to break the respect this family had for one another. However, judging by Iris’s expression, I knew that she was still angry with me about our earlier conflict.“I swear this man turns into an ant when he doesn’t want anyone to see him” Blake snapped. He entered the office and shook his head at Anastasia “and
