Nico

“You’re probably too busy. It’s okay if you don’t want to go,” Gianna muttered, standing beside the benchpress machine. I placed the weights down and then sitting up, threw her a look.

“That’s the fifth time you have said this within this week,” I said, narrowing my eyes at her.

“You’ve been keeping count?” she asked, handing me my towel distractedly.

“You have been pretty consistent,” I said flatly. “What’s going on? Why don’t you want me to attend the party thrown to celebrate your success?” Gianna’s face turned that sweet shade of pink as she bit her lip and shrugged.

“It’s not that…of course I want you to come,” she mumbled.

“Then why do you keep giving me reasons not to?” I raised a brow. “Do you not want me to meet Maximus? Is that it?” She blinked at me, that flush deepening into a shade of red now, and I knew that was exactly the reason. The thought made me scowl.

“So you don’t want me to meet him,” I said, crossing my arms. “Can I know why?” Gianna let out a sigh in resp

NicoGianna gasped against my mouth, hands pushing at my chest, trying to speak—but I didn’t give her the chance. I backed her up until her spine hit the tree behind her, and I pressed into her, trapping her there as my tongue slid against hers, claiming her mouth like a man gone mad.She whimpered, stunned, wide-eyed but she didn’t pull away. Not really. I had no idea I missed the taste of her already…missed her already. And I couldn’t stop. Not when the taste of her was finally on my tongue. Not when her lips parted willingly and her fingers tangled in the front of my shirt like she didn’t know if she wanted to pull me closer or shove me off. When I finally broke the kiss, we were both panting. Her lips were swollen, eyes glassy in the moonlight. Mine couldn’t leave her face.“What…” she breathed, voice shaking, “what was that?” I placed a finger to her mouth, silencing her.“Don’t,” I said quietly. “Don’t speak.” Gianna blinked at me, confused and breathless.“It felt like you need

Nico“Now…that would be an honor,” Maximus smirked, cocking his head. “To be Nicholas Baldochhi’s brother would be an experience. How do you feel about that idea, Nicholas?”I wanted to punch that fucking smirk off his stupid face. And why did it feel like he was taunting me?“You’ll need more than money and attitude to carry the Baldocchi name,” I said, my voice venomous. “The Baldocchi legacy isn’t handed out, it's forged in true Baldocchi blood. Maybe in the next lifetime if you get lucky enough.”I heard Gianna’s hiss from beside me, and I almost expected Maximus to react, to punch me or something, so I could finally start a fight and kill him. But much to my annoyance, he just gave me a cool smile and nodded.“That’s indeed very true,” he nodded. “And what would a poor orphan like me know of legacy? One as mighty as yours. I was just kidding. Gianna, how about I come and get you in a bit? I want to introduce you to some people. Networking is a must if you want to rise and build p

The word came fast. And I hated it. I hated how much I meant it. Or what she was doing to me.“What do you think?” Gianna smiled, giving me a twirl. She looked just…divine. Her golden hair was left open but with soft curls. She wore a simple but stunning diamond necklace around her neck and simple drop earrings. Her lips matched the shade of her dress, and yet there still was that ethereal softness to her.“That’s one heck of a dress,” I commented. Gianna beamed at that, her whole essence lighting up.“Really? I designed it,” she said shyly. Now it was my turn to be surprised.“You designed this?” I demanded.“Yes. This was the first outfit I ever designed,” she said, a soft smile playing on her lips. “I always pictured myself wearing it the day I launched my own brand... and now I am.”I didn’t know what to say. My admiration for her surged, climbing to new heights. And again, the contrast between her and me was glaringly bright. I didn’t deserve her. She was too good for someone like

Gianna I have never seen a room full of people looking so grim. Nico glanced down at the insignia again, fingers brushing over the aged paper.“And if that happens, they will be coming for us first because it was Sicily who started the retaliation. Camorra has been too much of a coward,” Nico said. “They will give in the second they attack.”“But I don’t understand…” Domani frowned. “Why would the Barbaros come for us? We don’t even trade with them. And that old fart…Drago Barbaro, he’s probably on his way to hell at this age. He is way beyond eighty, I think.”“Don’t underestimate Drago,” Nico said, his jaw clenching. “He is known as the most dreaded mafia leader in the history of the Barbaro family…even a notch higher than Salvatore himself.”“But isn’t he too old to plan a full-on war and all these attacks that have been happening, planting false lea

Gianna I was intrigued. And I needed to know more. Even if my brother was clearly against the idea.“Tell me more…” I said, glancing at Nico. “I want to know.”“The ‘89 Collapse was one of the most deadly mafia wars that took place in the 90s between the three strongest mafia clans- the Calabria ’Ndrangheta, the Sicilian Cosa Nostra, aka our families and the Camorra. In the late 1970s, the ’Ndrangheta wasn’t just dominant — they were absolute. Their reach stretched from Calabria up through Milan, down to Sicily, even into Rome and beyond,” Nico said. “And at the top of the chain sat the Barbaro family, the most feared, most disciplined, and most blood-soaked mafia clan Italy had ever seen. Every port, every trade, every politician on payroll — it all flowed through them.”“The Sicilian Mafia and the Camorra played along, at first. But the deeper the Barbaros dug their claws
