[Darcy]

I ignored Scott and Rocco's protesting glances. I knew I risked our lives by traveling with my son. But I couldn't leave him in his room. Keane wouldn't sleep. The boy knew I would be somewhere during the day.

Canceling my dinner plans with Vicky and Lydia wasn't an option either. I had to meet with them if I wanted to open the inn soon. I’d go crazy if I didn’t keep myself busy, especially since I’d quit my job at the club.

When I arrived at the restaurant, I saw Vicky crossing the street. Thankfully, I wasn’t late. I got out of the car and waved at her. My former secretary squealed when she saw the baby in my arms.

“Keane!” Vicky greeted him. “Do you still remember me? Aunt Vick! Oh my. It’s been so long, and you’re this big.” She stroked my son’s hair.

“We shouldn’t talk here,” I suggested.

“Oh. Come on. Let’s go inside,” Vicky said.

We entered the restaurant, which wasn’t crowded. The waiter led us to a corner of the room, away from the window. Rocco and Scott sat beside u

[Sinclair]His men weren't in the suite, but they greeted me when I opened the door. I knew they would rush to protect their boss. If anyone else had come, his enemies would have killed Dustin.I turned to the former SW Nightclub customer, “If I were you, I’d fire all these useless people,” I said sarcastically.I didn’t wait for his response and turned away. His men moved aside, letting me pass. Someone like Dustin wouldn’t dare cause a scene. If people found out he was with his mistress, it would ruin his reputation. Therefore, I was sure the photo would disappear from the media.I would deal with Meryl’s issue at a different time. That woman escaped punishment after repeatedly hurting Darcy. She might think I wouldn’t touch her, no matter what she did to my wife. I would teach her a valuable lesson.“Sir, there are journalists,” Neil reported.“Have security block them from entering,” I ordered.Neil called someone. Security guards emerged from the security post near the house. Sev

[Darcy]I should have felt better after talking to Mom, but the heavy burden on my shoulders didn't lighten at all after telling her about my worries. I was even more anxious, waiting for the test results and wasn't ready for the worst-case scenario.Even though I came in the afternoon, I brought her favorite cake for her to enjoy with her cellmate. Mom shook her head because I didn’t follow her advice. What else could I do? She raised me to be a stubborn and selfish woman.“Are you okay?” Scott asked as we left the visitor’s area.I nodded. “I’m just hungry,” I lied.“We should eat before you see your father,” he suggested.“No. Keane must be looking for me. He shouldn’t cry too long,” I refused. An officer opened the door for me and Scott. We thanked him before leaving the corridor. Another officer automatically opened the gate. Though I’d been there many times before, my heart felt heavy leaving it, just like the first time. My poor mother.“Darcy!” someone called.I turned and saw

After finishing my business at the clinic, I headed to Mason's office. The staff greeted me politely. Even though my emotions were running high, I managed to hold myself back and return their greetings. I didn't have time to let my anger out.My lawyer and Marcel were in the meeting room. I greeted them before sitting down and reading our agreement. Mason had typed everything according to my request. He was honest as usual, using words that were easy to understand.“Is there anything you want to say about this agreement?” I asked."I shouldn't have done this. I was involved in your brother's death. You might not want to deal with me. I don’t know how long my sentence will be. But this agreement is void if I receive a sentence of more than five years,” Marcel regretted.“I’m sorry, I have to be selfish for the sake of the people who depend on that organization. I agree to whatever you think is best. So, I have no objection to this agreement,” he concluded.“Okay.” I signed and handed t

Jack Rudick sat on the couch and looked at me in confusion. “I don't understand what you're talking about. Channing and Bailey aren't our clients. Darcy got pregnant naturally.”I studied his face. The man was aware of the details of the IVF program that Cullen and Darcy had undergone. It would have taken him a long time to answer if he wasn't close to that couple. Did he think I hadn't looked into his relationship with Cullen?I unbuttoned my suit jacket and sat down across from him. “Your clinic has been around for decades. You certainly don’t want a mistake to ruin this place’s reputation. Call that man now, or everyone will know you’re using stolen sperm.”“Sinclair, that’s a serious accusation. You can’t just say that without proof,” he said casually.“Then, explain this.” I nodded, and Neil placed a piece of paper on the table.Jack looked at me briefly before taking the paper. He read it and his eyes widened, knowing what the test was. “I don’t understand. Everyone knows you an

[Sinclair]I ran around the yard, trying to forget all the problems weighing on my mind. I thought my life would be peaceful after solving the case of my parents' and brother's deaths. I didn't expect there to be an even bigger problem. The vacation I had hoped would bring our family closer together didn't go as planned. I couldn’t deceive myself and enjoy our time together. Damn it. Why couldn’t I resist investigating my suspicions?I wanted to discuss it with Darcy, but I was a coward. I wasn’t ready for the consequences of talking about Keane’s father’s whereabouts. We didn’t know how the public would react to Dashiel’s presence and its impact on Wyndham Finance, but we had to deal with a new problem.“I was allowed to come to your office last Friday. Why can’t I come today?” Dashiel whined. We had breakfast together in the dining room. The vacation didn’t affect my physical condition, but Darcy and my son looked sleepy. They didn’t exercise regularly. Therefore, they easily got ti

“Good morning,” my colleagues greeted me as I entered the dining room.“Good morning,” I replied.“You don't bring Keane?” Lydia asked, looking behind me.“No. My son has to get used to not being with me during working hours,” I replied.“The first day is always tough,” she teased. “Edith had to go through it, too, after I stopped working at the club.”I left enough breast milk for Keane at home. My baby would be fine. Olivia could help him get by at Channing’s house without me there. So I was sure she could handle his crying while I was at work.“Are you okay?” Vicky asked softly.I turned to her after filling my mug with coffee. “What do you mean?”She and our two friends exchanged glances. “Didn’t you see the news?”“News?” I pulled out my phone and opened one of the browsers.“Photos of Dashiell dominated the media over the weekend. Someone took pictures of you all in the backyard,” my assistant replied.I knew it would happen, but I didn’t expect the media to find out so quickly.
