ANGEL’S POV

I already had a strong feeling that I had messed with the wrong guy earlier. But as I followed him and saw so many men bow to him when he passed by, my fear increased and I wished I could run.

Vic seemed to be a man of importance. Or one of the leaders… I couldn't tell. My fear was eating me up, that I didn't notice he had stopped walking and bumped into him.

“Sorry,” I mumbled.

A young man appeared by his side with an iPad. I stole glances at him and noticed he was wearing a Rolex and his suit was Armani.

They must be rich, I concluded.

He caught me staring and frowned.

“Boss, she is….”

Vic peered down at me and looked away like he couldn't be bothered.

“A kitten I saved from the wolves,” he answered as the guard in front of us opened the door.

I was about to follow him into the room when the guard stopped me.

“Let her in.”

The guard moved back like a robot on control. I walked into the room and the first thing that hit me was the manly scent I had perceived earlier from Vic. It filled the whole room.

This must be his private room. I glanced around and saw a snooker board.

“Do you play?” He asked.

I looked at him, to see him watching me and then I shook my head.

The young man from earlier cleared his throat.

“Boss, about the casino downtown. Is it convenient to talk now?” The young man with the Rolex asked.

“Yes, Rico. You can go ahead.”

Rico glanced at me and hesitated. Vic noticed it.

“Don't worry. She won't be breathing a word to my enemies if she still want her life.” He spoke casually as he poured himself a drink but I understood perfectly.

He had just threatened me.

I took a step forward. “I won't tell anyone anything. I don't know anything either. Can you let me go?” I raised my wrist that was still bound with rope at him.

“Rico, untie her.”

Rico pulled out a knife and cut the rope in one swipe. It was the same knife Vic had used earlier to scare away my pursuers.

“Thank you, Vic. I really appreciate your help,” I exhaled.

Vic paused while Rico’s eyes widened.

“What did you call me?” Vic asked with a hint of amusement.

That was when I realized no one had called him by his first name. It was either Boss, or Don Vic.

Oh no! Was I being disrespectful?

“I… I…” the words stuck to my throat.

“Alright little kitten. Come and have a drink.” He suddenly said. I walked over and sat on the opposite sea in front of him.

My wrist had turned red so I rubbed it a little so soothe the pain.

“Don Vic, I…”

“Call me Vic,” he interrupted.

I nodded. “Vic, like I said earlier, thank you for saving me. I have no idea what would have happened if you were not there.”

“I know,” he smirked. “You'll be tied up in Roger’s bed for days untill he is tired of you. And if you're able to keep his attention, then it's your fate not to see the light.”

My jaw fell. I was speechless. The silence stretched between us as we looked at each other.

Until Rico coughed.

“Excuse me, Boss.”

“No, stay.” Vic told him. “I have an offer for Miss Cole.”

At the mention of my surname, my eyes widened.

“You know me?” I whispered.

He shook his head. “I knew your father. You're a spitting image of him, just a bit naive and more beautiful.”

I parted my lips to speak yet nothing came out. This man, this dangerously handsome looking man had just insulted me and complimented me at the same time. I couldn't even get angry.

“What offer are you talking about?” I finally asked, when I couldn't respond to backhanded compliment.

Vic didn't answer immediately. He took a sip of his drink and then brought out a well rounded cigar. He lit it and took a long drag before letting it out.

“What issue do you have with Roger?”

I lowered my eyes. “My aunt Melissa is a gambling addict. She went gambling and lost everything my parents kept for me and my brother. She also took loans from Roger and when it was time to pay, she drugged me and sold me off to him to pay her debt.”

“So you're owing Roger a lot of money then.”

I nodded. The amount was almost too high to be real.

“One point eight million dollars.”

Vic froze. Rico whistled.

Then he chuckled.

“Well, I can pay off the debt for you,” he said.

“Really?” I gasped.

That amount of money was something I wouldn't be able to pay back in the next ten or fifteen years to come. If my parents were still alive, it wouldn't have been an issue but now they were gone. Aunt Melissa had squandered the money before I could get my hands on my inheritance.

“Yes, but in exchange, you will become a member of the Roister gang, never to betray us.”

Roister gang? The name seemed familiar…. Wait, wasn't that the biggest mafia gang in the state? And he wanted me to join them?

Did that mean he was their leader? The Ruthless Bastard son I had heard about!

“Seems you've heard about us, little kitten.”

He was observing my reaction.

Immediately I dropped to my knees.

“Please Don Vic, let me go. I… I cannot… I don't have what it takes to join your gang. I am just a young graduate with a younger brother,” my voice trembled as I pleaded.

For the first time since tonight, I saw a different emotion in his eyes. Surprise, I think.

“Stand up,” he ordered.

I shook my head. “I know I'll have to work my whole life to pay back that loan, but I don't mind. You have saved my life already and I am grateful. I don't want to bother you anymore.”

“Stand up!” He hissed.

The tone of his voice made me obey even when I was scared shitless.

“You don't want to be a one of my people?”

I shook my head. Rejecting him must have consequences but it was better than being entangled with such people. I'd rather stay away.

“What if I insist?”

I looked up at him.

“What?”

“What if I insist that you work for me? After all, I saved your life. You have to pay me back.”

So that was his plan.

“I can pay you back but I don't have the money. What else can I offer you?”

Vic didn't respond, yet I saw how his eyes were roaming my body with heat growing in them.

Unlike when old geezer looked at me and I felt disgusted, this time I didn't feel so bad. Instead I was pleased that a man as handsome and powerful as Vic could want me.

I never thought I was that beautiful.

Since he was attracted to me, then I would use that to my advantage. Slowly, I stood up and walked up to him.

“What do you want from me?” I asked slowly.

A light flashed in his eyes. He threw the cigar away before grabbing my waist and pulling me on his laps so I was strandling him.

“What else can you offer?” He whispered.

I heard the door close and realized Rico had excused himself. I tensed up.

I had no experience in this area. What should I do?

Vic grabbed my hand, almost like he could read my mind and placed it on the bulge on his trousers. I almost pulled away when I felt it growing bigger but he pressed my hand down.

His other hand slowly grabbed my neck and pulled my face closer.

“Wait,” I panicked when his lips were mere inches away from mine.

“Isn't this what you meant? Or are you planning on backing out?”

I swallowed and stared into the dark eyes that seemed soulless. Was this the man I wanted to give my first time to?

As I was thinking about it, he suddenly let go of me and pushed me to the side. I landed on the couch and panicked.

“Vic!”

“I don't want some inexperienced woman in my bed,” he said and stood up. “Though it will be your charm and advantage for the operation.”

I frowned. “What operation?” And how did he know I was inexperienced, I wanted to add.

“In case you don't know, the moment I saved you, you automatically became a target. So now, it's either you accept my protection and help or get attacked by my enemies.”

“Wait, why will I get attacked? I'm not a member of your gang!”

He crossed his arms.

“Rico just paid your debt so now, you're a member. And Roger won't let you go after you humiliated him so you need my protection.”

Oh no! What had I gotten myself into?

“I didn't ask him to pay the debt!” I grumbled.

“Well, it has happened and I don't do freebies. You will work for me to pay back that money.”

I stood up and raised my chin. “And if I don't?”

Vic smiled but didn't say another word before walking away. I stood there and watched the door with no idea of what I had gotten myself into.

ANGEL'S POV The person in the mirror was me but the more I stared, the more confused I get. Yes, I was looking very beautiful. In fact, I wasn't sure I had ever looked so pretty. My hair was styled by various people. Even picking out this pretty gown was done after five designers came to a conclusion. All I had to do was sit down and let them handle everything. And the result was this beautiful and sexy looking woman staring at me in the mirror. “Are you ready?” I heard Vic's voice from outside the door. “Yes, I'm coming.”I grabbed my purse and left the room. Today, I was going to a family dinner with Vic. His aim was for me to seduce his elder brother who was getting engaged today. I wasn't sure I could do it, but Vic had faith in me more than I had in myself. The moment I stepped out, I heard a long whistle from one of his men. Vic, who was on the phone turned to look at me. There was no expression on his face. But his eyes told something different.“You look beautiful, lit

VIC'S POVThe burn from my favorite whiskey was the only thing keeping the anger in me at bay. I kept drinking more each passing second. At this point, I hated the fact that I had a high tolerance for alcohol because I wanted to get drunk! “Boss,” Rico's voice floated from outside the door. I closed my eyes for a brief moment to calm my anger. “What is it?” I snapped. “The car is ready.” And that made everything all too real. I had lost another brother, a man who stood by me and helped me when I was a lost twenty seven years old leader. I never imagined that four years later, he'd be dead and it was all because of my bastard step brother. I stood up and left the room. At least, I had to pay one last respect to him before I think about how to take my revenge. After hours standing at the grave and watching the priest say some words, we left for my club. Just then, my eyes caught a young lady that looked almost like the kitten I had scared away few days ago.“Rico, any news from

ANGEL’S POV“Let go of me!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, even when I knew it was hopeless. Their grips tightened like steel. No matter how I struggled I could never escape.I was being pulled into a den I could never escape from and the thought scared me. “Shut up or else I'll skin you alive after the Boss is done with you!” A yellow faced man spat out. If I wasn't in such a precarious situation, I'd have given him a paste to brush his rotten brown teeth. They pulled me into a dark room and pushed me to my knees. My skin scrapped the hard tiles and I hissed in pain. When I lifted my head, ready to fight, I felt a sharp burn on my cheeks. He just slapped me!An old man sat on the only sofa in the dark lit room with a smoke on his lips. He had a crooked smile, that knowing smile that I had heard all about. “Angel, angel. Your father tried his best to hide you away from me but I've finally gotten my hands on you now,” he sneered. I glared at him. “You bastard. What do you wan
