ANGEL’S POV

I spent the next thirty minutes trying to reach Davis, my younger brother but he never answered. My heart was beating rapidly each time the call went to voicemail.

Tears stung my eyes. Vic wouldn't have gotten him already, right?

I couldn't think, couldn't breathe. All my internal monologue to calm down was barely working. If anything had happened to him….

No, Vic won't hurt him. Not yet, at least.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves before finally walking out of the room. Thankfully there was no servant outside else I won't know how to explain myself.

Upon reaching the sitting room where there seemed to be three new guests, my eyes met Vic from the far end as he spoke to a middle aged lady.

My gaze moved over the room, in search of Christian but he wasn't there. Neither was Britney. They must be together, maybe already having sex.

The thought made my heart ache slightly.

Vic gestured for me to come over so I plastered a smile on my face and walked over.

“How are you feeling now?” He asked calmly, grabbing a hold of my hand like a caring boyfriend.

But his question wasn't about my health.

“I'm fine.”

The lady by his side turned to me and arched an eyebrow.

“Isn’t she too young for you, Vic?”

Instead of answering, he pulled me closer and wrapped his arm around my waist tightly.

“She's perfect. Won't you agree, brother?”

I stiffened when I saw Christian appear with Britney in his arms. He glanced at me, and when his eyes fell on Vic’s hand on my waist, they went cold.

“She can do better,” was his response and walked away.

But not without Britney throwing a glare at me. I looked away, my heart filled with guilt.

The lady from earlier shook her head and walked away. Immediately she left, his grip grew tighter.

“You will be punished for your act tonight.” He whispered in my ears. A shiver ran through my body.

“I… I have another idea.” My voice was weak. I couldn't even hide my fear.

“It better be good,” he hissed. “In the next few minutes, their engagement will be announced. It shouldn't happen.”

He finally let go of me. I shuffled back, wanting to put some distance between us. This plan wasn't feasible. It was a backup plan I made last minute which I wasn't sure it was going to work.

And just like Vic said, it didn't take two minutes before Mr. Costello called everyone's attention.

“First, I want to thank everyone for honoring my invitation to this dinner. You're all very special to me,” he chuckled.

As he spoke, all I could see was the older version of the devil by my side. They had the same smile, same soulless dark eyes, unlike Christian.

“As you all know, my son, Christian has always taken his career seriously. But now, he is finally ready to settle down and start his own family which is the reason I invited you all today. Tonight the Roister Family will become family with Senator….”

The sound of gunshot echoed from outside. Everyone froze.

“What's going on?” Mr. Costello yelled at his men stationed at the door.

Before anyone could react, the door burst open forcefully and a large amount of cops ran inside with their guns raised like they were going to war.

A lady screamed in fear, while the remaining guests began shuffling to the side out of fear with their hands raised.

Surprisingly Vic pushed me behind him without hesitation and covered me with his body.

“Officer, what is going on?” Mr. Costello yelled.

One of them stepped forward, and gestured for his men to lower their guns.

“Hello, Mr. Costello. I am Captain Martins from the south district. We got an anonymous tip about a large batch of guns hidden in your mansion.”

Christian stepped forward, pulling out his id.

“Captain Martins, I am Deputy Christian and this is my home. I do not think there would be such illegal ammunition here and I won't be aware of it.”

The Captain looked at the ID and then stepped back a bit.

“I understand, Sir but we were authorized to search the building. We can't leave until we do that,” the Captain said and glanced around the room.

“Also, the guards stationed outside seemed to be private security men who had some weapons with them. They tried to stop us so I have a strong belief that there's something hidden here.”

The whole room was silent.

Christian stared at the man like he was ready to chop his head off.

Not until Vic decided to step forward.

“You just want to search right? Then please do. We have nothing to fear, right Christian?”

The whole atmosphere was tense. I felt beads of sweat form on my forehead.

“Yes, we don't.” Christian finally agreed.

“Then I'll ask that you indulge me, Deputy. And no one is allowed to leave until we are done.”

A few cops followed the Captain upstairs while we waited in silence.

“Have a seat everyone.” Vic told them and then he looked at me with an expression I couldn't explain.

We waited for them to finish their search. When they were done, they found nothing.

“I'm sorry for the false alarm, everyone. Have a good night.” The Captain apologised and left with his men.

Mr Costello sighed in relief.

But the guests weren't happy anymore, especially the senator, Mr White.

“This is a disgrace!” He spat out.

“I need to leave.” The guests muttered and left one after the other.

Mr. Costello rushed to Mr. White.

“It was just a fake tip. It's nothing.”

“I don't care. I'm a sitting senator. I don't need such mistakes!” Mr. White was having none of it.

He grabbed Britney and pulled her along with him.

“Mr. White!” Mr. Costello called out, pursuing after him.

Christian wasn't even bothered. He silently followed his father, but not giving me one last strange look.

As soon as everyone left, Vic uttered three words that made my eyes widen.

“You did this.” It wasn't an accusation. He knew.

How did he know?

  • The Mafia's Little Seductress   Chapter 7

ANGEL'S POV The hot shower stung my skin as I scrubbed vigorously. I felt dirty. The blood, that man's hands on me, everything was dirty.I wanted to wash off the dirt, hoping it could wash off the bad experience I just encountered. Vic left after I told him I wanted out of the gang. He didn't look surprised, but for the first time since I knew him, he looked at me with soft understanding eyes. I wished he would have said something before leaving, but he didn't. And it bothered me. By the time I came out of the bathroom, my skin had turned red like tomatoes. But I felt better. Vic was back when I entered the room. My dress was nowhere to be found, the bloodstained sheets had been changed too. I pulled my robe tighter on my body. It was the only thing covering my nakedness.“Come here.” He ordered. My feet moved before I could even think about it. I stopped in front of him. Vic's eyes roamed my body like it was a specimen he wanted to dissect. I stood still, and let him. “Let m

ANGEL'S POV “Do you have any idea what you just did?” Vic asked the moment we entered his car. He didn't speak a word after I confirmed his words earlier and dragged me to the car instead with a scowl. I couldn't understand why he was angry. Shouldn't he be happy that I was able to stop the betrothal? “I did as you asked,” I reminded him. Vic closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “You acted on your own without informing me.” “But the outcome was still the same, right?” His glare was enough to freeze the Atlantic ocean. When he lifted his hand, I shrunk back subconsciously in fear, thinking he was about to hit me. He halted at the last minute and lowered his hands slowly to my face. “Don't ever act without my permission again.” He patted my cheeks before sitting properly on his side. I didn't reply. I rolled down the window and looked at the buzzing city in the night. The air hit my face and calmed down my nerves. When the driver pulled up at the clubhouse, I was shocked.

ANGEL'S POV The person in the mirror was me but the more I stared, the more confused I get. Yes, I was looking very beautiful. In fact, I wasn't sure I had ever looked so pretty. My hair was styled by various people. Even picking out this pretty gown was done after five designers came to a conclusion. All I had to do was sit down and let them handle everything. And the result was this beautiful and sexy looking woman staring at me in the mirror. “Are you ready?” I heard Vic's voice from outside the door. “Yes, I'm coming.”I grabbed my purse and left the room. Today, I was going to a family dinner with Vic. His aim was for me to seduce his elder brother who was getting engaged today. I wasn't sure I could do it, but Vic had faith in me more than I had in myself. The moment I stepped out, I heard a long whistle from one of his men. Vic, who was on the phone turned to look at me. There was no expression on his face. But his eyes told something different.“You look beautiful, lit

  • The Mafia's Little Seductress   CHAPTER 3

VIC'S POVThe burn from my favorite whiskey was the only thing keeping the anger in me at bay. I kept drinking more each passing second. At this point, I hated the fact that I had a high tolerance for alcohol because I wanted to get drunk! “Boss,” Rico's voice floated from outside the door. I closed my eyes for a brief moment to calm my anger. “What is it?” I snapped. “The car is ready.” And that made everything all too real. I had lost another brother, a man who stood by me and helped me when I was a lost twenty seven years old leader. I never imagined that four years later, he'd be dead and it was all because of my bastard step brother. I stood up and left the room. At least, I had to pay one last respect to him before I think about how to take my revenge. After hours standing at the grave and watching the priest say some words, we left for my club. Just then, my eyes caught a young lady that looked almost like the kitten I had scared away few days ago.“Rico, any news from

ANGEL’S POVI already had a strong feeling that I had messed with the wrong guy earlier. But as I followed him and saw so many men bow to him when he passed by, my fear increased and I wished I could run. Vic seemed to be a man of importance. Or one of the leaders… I couldn't tell. My fear was eating me up, that I didn't notice he had stopped walking and bumped into him. “Sorry,” I mumbled. A young man appeared by his side with an iPad. I stole glances at him and noticed he was wearing a Rolex and his suit was Armani. They must be rich, I concluded. He caught me staring and frowned. “Boss, she is….” Vic peered down at me and looked away like he couldn't be bothered. “A kitten I saved from the wolves,” he answered as the guard in front of us opened the door. I was about to follow him into the room when the guard stopped me. “Let her in.” The guard moved back like a robot on control. I walked into the room and the first thing that hit me was the manly scent I had perceived ea

ANGEL’S POV“Let go of me!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, even when I knew it was hopeless. Their grips tightened like steel. No matter how I struggled I could never escape.I was being pulled into a den I could never escape from and the thought scared me. “Shut up or else I'll skin you alive
