“Let go of me!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, even when I knew it was hopeless. Their grips tightened like steel. No matter how I struggled I could never escape.
I was being pulled into a den I could never escape from and the thought scared me.
“Shut up or else I'll skin you alive after the Boss is done with you!” A yellow faced man spat out.
If I wasn't in such a precarious situation, I'd have given him a paste to brush his rotten brown teeth.
They pulled me into a dark room and pushed me to my knees. My skin scrapped the hard tiles and I hissed in pain. When I lifted my head, ready to fight, I felt a sharp burn on my cheeks.
He just slapped me!
An old man sat on the only sofa in the dark lit room with a smoke on his lips. He had a crooked smile, that knowing smile that I had heard all about.
“Angel, angel. Your father tried his best to hide you away from me but I've finally gotten my hands on you now,” he sneered.
I glared at him.
“You bastard. What do you want?” I spat out.
His nose flared up at the insult, but he kept smiling. Then he waved his guards off. They let go me and left the room.
This man, who was old enough to be my father, stood up and grabbed a drink.
“Your aunt… what's her name? Oh, Melissa. She sold you to us to repay her debt.”
I swallowed, even though my mouth was dry and spoke calmly. “It is illegal to sell someone. Aren't you afraid of the cops?”
He looked at me like I was stupid and chuckled.
“Who dare touch me?” He grinned, taking deliberate steps towards me.
I struggled to my feet and pulled down my gown that had ride up to my ass. This dress was another disgusting piece I wished to take off. His men had forced me to wear it to look good for their Boss.
“Stay back,” I warned and shuffled backwards. “Don't come closer!”
Yet he kept walking like the predator he was.
“You don't have to worry, Angel. I will take care of you tonight.” He lunged for me and grabbed my shoulders.
I struggled with all my might but my hands were still bound. I couldn't do anything to him.
This man pushed me to the couch and forced my mouth open while he poured the alcohol. I gagged and tried to spit it out, still I felt some sliding down my throat.
I had very little experience with alcohol. I didn't want to get drunk and lose my consciousness.
“Now, be a good girl and serve me.” He said softly.
I watched in terror as he started pulling his clothes off, my heart beating loudly in my ear. My hands were trembling.
The moment he let go of my arm to grab his belt, I took over and pushed him off me. Grabbing the empty bottle of alcohol on the table, I smashed it on his head and he cried out.
I ran to the door and screamed. “The Boss is bleeding!”
Immediately the door opened, his men rushed inside and went straight to him. I had already hid myself by the side and in the midst of the chaos, I escaped the room.
My lungs burned as I ran down the dark clubhouse. People looked at me, but no one stopped to help. Tears fell down my eyes.
“Get her!” I heard the bellow of the Boss and increased my pace.
“God please! Help me!”
I held on to my mother's belief and kept running to different corners without realizing where I was headed to.
Until I hit a wall and almost fell. I closed my eyes and brased myself for the impact, but nothing happened. When I opened my eyes, I saw a pair of dark eyes staring down at me.
My breath caught in my throat and I started for a second. This man looked magnificent, even in the dark. And his scent. He smelled so good, I could stay in his embrace forever if I wasn't in a precarious situation.
“Help me!” I grabbed his shirt with the little bit of energy I had left. “Please.”
He looked down at me like I was a nuisance. Realizing he wasn't going to help, I pulled away from him and tried to keep running when his words stopped me.
“You're running from Roger?” He asked.
I didn't know who that Boss was or his name but I nodded.
“Stay behind me,” he muttered and stepped in front of me as the men finally caught up with me.
They stopped when they saw this tall, strange man. I was breathing hard as I wondered how he was going to fight over seven men who had weapons.
“Do… Don Vic,” the ugly yellow man from earlier stuttered.
“What? You want to steal my woman?” He asked with a hint of arrogance.
Don Vic? That was his name? It sounded familiar yet still strange.
The yellow haired man shook his head.
“But… she… she belongs to our Boss.”
“Not anymore.”
He turned and grabbed my wrist. “Let's go.”
Before we could take a step, one of the men suddenly attacked.
Vic acted immediately and blocked the attack. A knife appeared in his hands from nowhere and he stabbed the man's hand.
I gasped and moved back in fear.
The remaining men paused, with fear in their eyes.
“If you don't want your life anymore, you can come at me,” Vic gestured that they attack him.
Instead, they turned back and ran away, leaving only the annoying yellow haired man.
“This… this isn't over, Don Vic!” he hissed and also ran away like a wolf with his tails tucked in between his legs.
I watched in shock. They had actually left. I glanced at this Don Vic.
“Who are you?” I whispered, scared I had messed with the wrong person again.
“I am your savior. And this pretty life of yours now belongs to me.” He said calmly with a strange look in his eyes.
Dread filled my heart as I stared at his face.
This man must be part of the mafia. And now, I owed him my life.
ANGEL'S POV The hot shower stung my skin as I scrubbed vigorously. I felt dirty. The blood, that man's hands on me, everything was dirty.I wanted to wash off the dirt, hoping it could wash off the bad experience I just encountered. Vic left after I told him I wanted out of the gang. He didn't look surprised, but for the first time since I knew him, he looked at me with soft understanding eyes. I wished he would have said something before leaving, but he didn't. And it bothered me. By the time I came out of the bathroom, my skin had turned red like tomatoes. But I felt better. Vic was back when I entered the room. My dress was nowhere to be found, the bloodstained sheets had been changed too. I pulled my robe tighter on my body. It was the only thing covering my nakedness.“Come here.” He ordered. My feet moved before I could even think about it. I stopped in front of him. Vic's eyes roamed my body like it was a specimen he wanted to dissect. I stood still, and let him. “Let m
ANGEL'S POV “Do you have any idea what you just did?” Vic asked the moment we entered his car. He didn't speak a word after I confirmed his words earlier and dragged me to the car instead with a scowl. I couldn't understand why he was angry. Shouldn't he be happy that I was able to stop the betrothal? “I did as you asked,” I reminded him. Vic closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “You acted on your own without informing me.” “But the outcome was still the same, right?” His glare was enough to freeze the Atlantic ocean. When he lifted his hand, I shrunk back subconsciously in fear, thinking he was about to hit me. He halted at the last minute and lowered his hands slowly to my face. “Don't ever act without my permission again.” He patted my cheeks before sitting properly on his side. I didn't reply. I rolled down the window and looked at the buzzing city in the night. The air hit my face and calmed down my nerves. When the driver pulled up at the clubhouse, I was shocked.
ANGEL’S POVI spent the next thirty minutes trying to reach Davis, my younger brother but he never answered. My heart was beating rapidly each time the call went to voicemail. Tears stung my eyes. Vic wouldn't have gotten him already, right? I couldn't think, couldn't breathe. All my internal monologue to calm down was barely working. If anything had happened to him…. No, Vic won't hurt him. Not yet, at least. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves before finally walking out of the room. Thankfully there was no servant outside else I won't know how to explain myself. Upon reaching the sitting room where there seemed to be three new guests, my eyes met Vic from the far end as he spoke to a middle aged lady. My gaze moved over the room, in search of Christian but he wasn't there. Neither was Britney. They must be together, maybe already having sex.The thought made my heart ache slightly. Vic gestured for me to come over so I plastered a smile on my face and walked over.“How are
ANGEL'S POV The person in the mirror was me but the more I stared, the more confused I get. Yes, I was looking very beautiful. In fact, I wasn't sure I had ever looked so pretty. My hair was styled by various people. Even picking out this pretty gown was done after five designers came to a conclusion. All I had to do was sit down and let them handle everything. And the result was this beautiful and sexy looking woman staring at me in the mirror. “Are you ready?” I heard Vic's voice from outside the door. “Yes, I'm coming.”I grabbed my purse and left the room. Today, I was going to a family dinner with Vic. His aim was for me to seduce his elder brother who was getting engaged today. I wasn't sure I could do it, but Vic had faith in me more than I had in myself. The moment I stepped out, I heard a long whistle from one of his men. Vic, who was on the phone turned to look at me. There was no expression on his face. But his eyes told something different.“You look beautiful, lit
VIC'S POVThe burn from my favorite whiskey was the only thing keeping the anger in me at bay. I kept drinking more each passing second. At this point, I hated the fact that I had a high tolerance for alcohol because I wanted to get drunk! “Boss,” Rico's voice floated from outside the door. I clo
ANGEL’S POVI already had a strong feeling that I had messed with the wrong guy earlier. But as I followed him and saw so many men bow to him when he passed by, my fear increased and I wished I could run. Vic seemed to be a man of importance. Or one of the leaders… I couldn't tell. My fear was eat
