Chapter 3

LOGAN

"ARE YOU just going to stare at Miss Calli, Boss? Are you not going to approach her?" Dev asks, his gaze fixed on mine. He was in the passenger seat, and I was staring at Calli through the tinted glass of my car in the backseat.

I deliberately avoided responding to him. Outside, I can't take my gaze off Calli. Dev was laughing, but I paid him no attention. Honestly, I only want to stare at Calli's stunning face. She has the appearance of a divine being.

Callista Sandoval-Castillejo. I mentally grinned with my thoughts.  What is happening to me? It is far from my principle in life that I only fuck women. From the moment my eyes beheld her, I felt like she ensnared my heart. There was no denying the magnetic pull she had on me. How can I approach her? She was as delicate as a dainty crystal. As I pondered, my mind couldn't help but wander to the image of her pleading for me to ravage her with unbridled passion.

Grec, sitting right beside me, is putting on his tie with utmost perfection. With a fierce glare, I locked eyes with him, sending shivers down his spine. His throat tightened as he swallowed hard, averting his gaze in a flash.

"Invite her to have dinner with me, Grec. Tonight. You know what to do." I instructed him in my authoritative voice.

With a light-hearted laugh, Dev expressed his amusement. "Is that you, boss? Is Grec the one you want to invite, Miss Calli? Where is the courage of Mr. Logan Castillejo with the girl?" Dev asked in utter disbelief, yet with a playful tone.

Annoying.

I glared at him. "Shut up, Dev! I have a lot to do right now." What a fucking reason I just said. Damn it! I heard his soft laugh.

"You abandoned your work, boss, for the woman you want to bed." The mischievous Dev couldn't resist the urge to continue his playful taunts. Yes, it's true. I abandoned my work just to get laid. My fist is itching to throw a punch hard in his face. I am pissed off.

"Perhaps, Mr. Logan, she isn't-" Grec butted in. I scowled at him, making him tense. "Yes, Mr. Logan. I'll take care of it." He is familiar with my expression. His nervousness is palpable in his voice. What the hell is wrong with Grec? I can tell when a woman is trembling. It's either of them; they've achieved their orgasms, or they're in heaven while I'm fucking them hard and rough.

"Good," I muttered. The need to grab her, pin her to the wall, and fuck her was overwhelming. She looked terrible in the dress she was wearing that was below her knees and long sleeves. That's too old-fashioned. And if she's going to start dressing like the nuns she's talking with, it annoys me. I can't take it. She can't be dressed like that.

My phone vibrates, notifying me that there is an incoming call. I took a quick look at my phone to see who was calling. There's a call from Trace. After glancing at the screen, I tucked my phone back into my pocket. My cousin obviously has nothing better to do than interrupt me now. Not the time or place for him to ring me up and tell me he misses me. Maybe he has a new girl in his life and invited me to come along to his orgy session, but I highly doubt that. Trace is my cousin on my mother's side, and his sister is Paige. He is four years older than me. He is 29, and I'm 25.

Trace still hasn't stopped calling. His call must be important regarding Foedus. He won't bother calling if it's unimportant regarding the Island or the Foedus.

I took my phone out of my pocket and answered his call. "What's your problem, Trace? You know I'm a busy person. I've already arranged the shipment of Jake and Elliot." I answered as soon as I swiped the answer button. The two are smuggling illegal liquors in our town, Sta. Monica.

My two assistants glanced at me when they heard my answer to my cousin. Dev sneered at what I said.

"Would you like to say hi to Callista?"

"Excuse me?" I immediately looked around to the side, and there I saw him. The asshole, leaning towards his car and looking at Calli, waved. "I wanna meet her. She's beautiful, especially if she's not wearing any clothes."

"Damn you, Trace! I'm on my way to Agrianthropos City." I heard his loud laugh. I suddenly hated hearing it.

"Callista Sandoval. Twenty-three years old–”

"What do you need?" I cut him off from what he had to say. Damn!

"I'm bored. Let's have fun in my hotel," he replied. My brows furrowed. The fun that he's referring to is his favorite orgy session. I only go with him once in that session, but this cousin of mine is like a drug to him.

"I'm not in the mood to get laid," I told him. I just heard the end of Trace's call after I replied. Tang ina! My eyes widened. I saw him approaching Calli. This is not good. I should stop him from whatever he's going to do.

"Boss, Master Trace is approaching your beloved Miss Calli." Dev teases me. What the hell did he say? I will indeed punch him later after this. He pointed to my cousin, approaching Calli.

"Damn it, Trace!" I cursed. I immediately got out of the car and quickly stepped to get closer to them. Dev also instantly followed me.

I saw Trace extend his hand to Calli. The fucker, he just came here to annoy me. Before Calli received Trace's extended hand, I blocked Trace and shook Calli's hand. Calli was surprised to see me. Her gaze followed our hands. Even the nun beside her was surprised by my sudden appearance in front of them but also left because she was called, so Calli was left with us.

Calli seemed to burn when I squeezed her hand. Her hands are as soft as the hands of a baby. I would love to hold it every minute.

"Logan... Hi." Calli smiled at me. She hid his two hands behind her back. "You're here. Are you with Aunt Dorcy?" She asked in her angelic and soft-spoken voice. She suddenly bit her lower lip and couldn't look at me because I was staring at her. My gaze followed her naturally red lips. I'm not a saint, and right now, I'm dying to kiss her lips. Savored her sweet lips against mine.

"No, I'm with Dev and Grec. Mom is with Dad right now. Do you want to see her again? You can come to our house if you're not busy." I replied.

Calli looked straight into my eyes. She smiled. A smile that almost takes my breath away. Oh, fuck.

"By the way, I'm Trace, Callista. Logan's cousin." Trace groined during our conversation with Calli.

Calli's attention draws to my cousin. "Hi, Trace. How did you know my name? Do you also help the foundation? I didn't see you last time."

Trace and I stared at each other.

"In Logan's files about you." He grinned like a devil at me.

Calli creases her forehead. "What files?" Calli also looked at me with wonders in her eyes. "Logan?

"About this orphanage, Calli. Logan and I are supporting an orphanage,  and we will support this, also. It just so happens that this is also one of the ones you support, and my cousin told me that you two have met. What a coincidence, right Logan?" Trace explained to her, but his eyes were teasing me.

"Yes," I answered sparingly. Trace stopped laughing at my answer. How did he know what I did? And he said that I would support this orphanage and even included himself. That orphanage that Trace refers to is where we met Jake and Lev, our fellow founders of Foedus. I can still breathe easily. Trace relaxes. This cousin of mine is good at teasing.

"Ah... That's why you're here today. You're the one's sister Reth was talking about coming today. The kids have been waiting for you for a while. You have a good heart,  Trace and Logan. Just now, we're so thankful for both of your goodness. I hope the two of you help many more people. We need people like you. A good heart for the needy.”

What she said made Trace and I swallow together and look at each other. I adjusted the tie I was wearing because it suddenly felt tight. Now I understand why Grec keeps doing it. I don't know that there are still people who believe that my cousin is a good person until now. As much as I want to agree with her, with the amount of nonsense Trace did to Tito, I wonder if Calli doesn't even have social media or television and doesn't know that Trace is full of scandal. She's a one-of-a-kind woman to me. She doesn't know us yet. I'm afraid I'll disappoint her soon once she finds out our wrong side. We are assholes,  and she's an angel.

"Excuse me. I will help sister Reth." Calli says goodbye when she sees a nun carrying plastic.

"Grec can do that. He will help you." I signaled to Grec and Dev to help the nuns, and they immediately followed.  "Thank you, Logan. I'm just going to approach sister Reth. I'll leave you two for a while."

"Go ahead, Calli. Don't worry about us," Trace answered. Calli just smiled slightly and glanced at me. Trace whistled beside me and folded his arms as we followed Calli's gaze. "You're into that woman,  Logan. But I tell you, she will cause your death." Trace said in a low voice by my side.

I elbowed him. "Fuck you, asshole!" It twisted, cursing at me. I didn't mean that my elbow pierced his side and got stronger.

"Are you okay, Trace?" Calli asked when she noticed us. She pulled Trace closer, and this cousin of mine squirmed even more. Even if I hit my cousin or even got into a fight, he was still strong. But right now,  he is acting like he is hurt. I blocked myself again before Calli got close to Trace, so I elbowed Trace again.

"Tang ina!" I looked at Trace. He ruffled. I just smirked.

"That's far from the gut. Convince me more, Trace," I told him in a low voice. He raised his middle finger and moved away from me. He took the phone from his pocket and called someone. I heard he called Chase. He is one of the members of Foedus. Trace will request a girl from him.

I confronted Calli again after Trace left.

"I think he's hurt. It would be best if you didn't do that to him. You should apologize to Trace."

"He's fine. He wants to be an actor. He's my cousin, so I know his dream very well." Again, Calli just smiled at me.

"Well,  it suits him. He's handsome."

My jaw tightened hearing her praising Trace. I noticed the older woman who was behind Calli and who was also talking to the nun earlier. She doesn't look friendly to me. I called Grec to order food for the children and the nuns. They were delighted, but that older woman still didn't smile. A nun talked to Trace, but I couldn't hear what they discussed.

"Thank you, Logan. You are very kind. You made many children happy today." Calli said,  smiling at me.

"If you need anything here, just call me," I replied.

"Thanks again, Logan." She smiled. My eyes feasted again on her lips. I'm dying on the inside to taste it. One of these days, I will kiss those lips and fuck her hard.

"Let's go, Logan!" Trace shouted. Even though I don't want to leave, I must leave Calli for now.

"We'll go ahead, Calli. I'll just come back here." She just nodded and smiled.

"Tang ina,  Logan! Where do you conceal your horn when you're in front of that girl?" Trace asked with a laugh as we got into the car and headed to the island. I went with him while Grec just followed us.

"Where did you hide your tail earlier? It's good that you didn't catch fire while talking to the nuns earlier." I scoffed. He snickered. I took his cigarette and lighter that was in the glove compartment. I opened the window of his car and lit a cigarette, and smoked. Trace did the same thing I did. He opened the window on his side and also took a cigarette, and then smoked.

"Are you in love with her?" Later he asked seriously.

My eyebrows met at his question. "No," I answered quickly.

"Good. Because she's not good for you."

There is silence between us for a second.

"There is no such thing as love for me, Trace. And you know it. I don't fucking believe in love anymore. I just wanted to fuck her. Nothing more, nothing less." I said with a devilish smile, yet undoubtedly the inner me.

"Then don't act like a crazy man, stalking her," Trace said remarkably.

Neither of us wants to believe in that kind of love. Our lack of faith stems from a variety of sources. My cousin's words hit me hard. Even if I were, I wouldn't be in love with her. But just the thought of Calli's sweet face turning my dick hard, I longed for her company and voice. If I had all day, I'd stand and look at her. Or maybe I am too horny as hell right now.

I'll figure it out once I fuck her. I knew that it was lust and not love.

CALLISTA SANDOVAL

"Why are you talking casually with Logan, Calli? I noticed that you two are looking at each other like something is going on between the two of you." Nanay Fely, my nanny since I was a child, asked me. Daddy sent her with me today to watch over me. To this day, he still hopes that my decision to enter the convent may change.

Nanay Fely and I are going home now. The evening caught up with us because the kids enjoyed themselves so much. Logan sent food and toys again after they left earlier. They didn't stay longer because Trace had something important to do. Trace said they are still things to eat on another Island they are going to.

"Huh? Nothing is going on between us, Nanay Fely. I'm just happy that I see him again. Logan is a good man, and he is generous, and so is his cousin. Who would have thought there were guys like them who take the time to help others? And they are not even politicians."

"Maybe Logan plans to follow in his father's footsteps. Smells like that."

I shake my head to disagree. "No, I don't think so, Nanay Fely. Aunt Dorcy told me everything about Logan. He has a business. They are helping children not because of politics. He's a nice guy, and his cousin seems nice too. Maybe you are wrong in judging them.”

"Good man? Trace looks like an addict. Look at his hair. It's long and curly. It's like a bird's nest. The pants have holes in them."

"Nanay Fely! You shouldn't judge Trace just because of his appearance. I know he's a good person, he and Logan. You saw how Logan made the kids happy earlier."

“Do you hear yourself, Calli? You keep on telling me how good that man is, Logan. You are praising him. I still doubt what you believe in, Callista, especially with Logan. He looks like a maniac. Did you see the way he looked at you earlier? It's like he's stripping you from the way he stares."

"Nanay Fely, please? Stop saying bad words about them. I don't think of them like that." I noticed the way Logan was staring at me. It's like he's absorbing my strength. I can't just look away from him. Every time our eyes meet, I feel like I'm electrocuted. I also felt something different from the contact of our palms. I don't give any other meaning to his stares and actions because it's wrong for me to think of him as something else.

"I'm just telling the truth. That Logan can't be trusted and especially his cousin. He doesn't seem to be doing well. Those are just images that are maintained, and that's how they are if there are other people. So don't believe what these two are showing you, especially Logan. That maniac-looking man wants to bed you."

I heaved a deep sigh. I am hurt by what I heard from Nanay Fely. She immediately judges other people just based on their appearance. I see nothing wrong with either. For me, they are good people who only want to help.

"Nanay Fely, you are judging Logan. He's not the kind of guy that you are thinking. He doesn't have any motive to help the orphanage. Aunt Dorcy raised him well. It's embarrassing what you think of them."

"I just don't know, Callista. I hope I'm just wrong about the two of them. I'm just telling you what I think about them. It's up to you if you still want to be friends with Logan. I will support you even though I don't trust him. I feel like he is waiting for you to fall into his trap. You are a gorgeous and innocent woman. And I'm afraid that he will take advantage of you.”

I let out another heavy sigh. "What you're doing is wrong, Nanay Fely. It is not acceptable to pass judgment on others or to harbor negative thoughts. I don't want to hear the hurtful words you spoke to them again. Sadly, despite the good they accomplished earlier, you still think like that."

Nanay Fely held my hand, and her facial expression softened. "I'm sorry, Calli. I promise I won't do it again. Even if they didn't look nice, I would respect what you said." I smiled at Nanay Fely and just nodded because I knew she was forced to do that because of me. I don't understand why she thinks that way about the two.
