CHAPTER 37

I took a deep breath and filled my lungs with medicine-contaminated air. I fixed myself and held on to the black basket tightly. I stepped inside and saw Giovanni seriously watching a movie on the TV. 

"Everyone, please step outside," I told them, and their eyes were on me. 

They immediately stood up while carrying their food. "I'll see you later," I said to Penny, and she nodded. 

"Did you miss me, babe?" Giovanni asked and opened his arms widely. The black basket is behind me, so he can't see it yet. "Why would I?" I asked harshly, and he smiled. 

"It's fine, and I miss you so much; I miss seeing your beautiful place like fresh air in the morning," Giovanni said, and I didn't react to it; instead, I showed him what was in my hand.
