As Leonardo adjusted the cufflinks of his tailored suit, he glanced around, intending to find Sofia and kiss her goodbye before leaving. But before he could move, Ava appeared at the doorway, her figure wrapped in a sultry, form-fitting dress that clung to her curves.

“Leo!” she called hurriedly, her heels clicking against the floor as she approached. “I’m running late. Come on, let’s go!” Without waiting for his response, she grabbed his arm and tugged him toward the driveway where the car waited for them.

Leonardo frowned slightly, glancing toward the hallway where Sofia might be, but Ava's insistent pull broke his focus.

As the car cruised toward the venue, Ava glanced at Leonardo with a coy smile. “Leo, I need a favor.”

He arched an eyebrow, adjusting his watch. “What kind of favor?”

“I’m meeting with investors today, and I need you there with me.” She tilted her head, her eyes gleaming with intent. “Your expertise in convincing investors is unmatched. Plus, having you by my side w

Sofia’s eyes welled up, but she blinked the tears away before they could fall. She turned her gaze toward the window, her voice barely above a whisper.“I know… but not like this. Don’t drag it through the dirt,” she said softly. “Let’s keep it clean—for my children’s sake, and for my family. I don’t want them to suffer because of me… or because of our separation.”She was not protecting him. She was protecting the father of her children. She was protecting the man she once believed in with everything she had. She was not going to be the reason his children hate him.Enrico had no words. He looked at her—this elegant, broken woman sitting before him—conflicted, silent, and fierce in her dignity. He gave a small, slow nod.“All right,” he said quietly. “We’ll file for separation under irreconcilable differences. It will take longer, and we may face court resistance… but we’ll do it your way.”Sofia nodded, her jaw clenched. As Enrico began typing into his computer, she wrapped her arms

Sofia sat in her lawyer’s office, her hands clasped tightly in her lap as the lawyer explained how he could secure her a divorce and a substantial alimony from her billionaire husband. But Sofia shook her head.“I don’t want anything,” she said quietly. She hadn’t told her father or her children the real reason she left home and started living separately. Her in-laws had tried to persuade her to return, confused and concerned by her sudden departure, but she refused to go back. They questioned her, pressed her to explain what had happened, but she never mentioned her husband’s infidelity. She couldn’t bring herself to tell them. She couldn’t bear to see the man she loved fall from grace in his family’s and children’s eyes. But a few days later, she dropped the bomb—she was filing for divorce. And with that, everyone knew something serious had happened, even if she still refused to speak the truth.Enrico Venturi blinked, visibly stunned. “Come on, Mrs. Morelli,” he said, leaning forw

It took Leonardo a few seconds to snap out of the shock. But when he heard the sound of the suitcase wheels dragging across the marble floor, something inside him snapped. He sprinted down the hall after her, heart pounding, panic rising with every step.“Sofia!” he called out.She didn’t stop. Her back was rigid, her pace furious, and the suitcase rattled behind her like a warning.Leonardo caught up to her and reached out, grabbing her wrist.“Please,” he whispered, breathless, “don’t go.”“Let go of me!” Sofia hissed, twisting her arm to break free. Her eyes were blazing, her voice sharp with fury.“Just—just give me a chance to explain,” he begged, his voice cracked and desperate.“Save it,” she snapped, yanking her arm again. But his grip held firm.“It’s not what you think, angel,” he said softly, trying to meet her eyes. She laughed bitterly. “I’m not blind, Leonardo. Or stupid.” Her voice was sharp with betrayal. “Now let me go. You finally have the chance to be with the woman

Leonardo returned home late that night. After Ava’s prenatal check-up, he had dropped her off at her place and gone straight to the office, unable to bring himself to face Sofia. All day, he’d questioned Ava again and again, desperately hoping for a different answer. But each time, she calmly repeated the same truth: the child she was carrying was his. One reckless mistake—just one—and the only one he had no memory of, made in a moment when he wasn’t even in his senses, was now tearing his entire world apart. There was a moment when he had even considered asking Ava to terminate the pregnancy. But she refused. The doctor had warned her that it could endanger her life, and she wouldn’t take that risk.Leonardo had been willing to go that far—not because he didn’t care about the unborn child, but because he couldn’t bear the thought of hurting Sofia. He would’ve done anything to protect her from this truth. But now it was too late. The damage was done.Still, it was his child. His blo

Sofia was in one of her restaurants, inspecting the operations to ensure everything was running smoothly, when her phone rang. Seeing the number of Lucia’s kindergarten teacher made her furrow her brows with an unknown sense of worry. A sick feeling settled in her stomach before she even answered.“Hello?”“Mrs. Morelli,” said the nervous voice on the other end. “This is Miss Elena from St. Agnes Kindergarten. Lucia slipped on the playground steps during recess. She hit her head—there was some bleeding. We’ve already called an ambulance. She’s on her way to Santa Maria Hospital.”Sofia’s heart dropped into her stomach. “Bleeding? Oh my God. I—I’m on my way. Thank you.”She barely remembered grabbing her bag or rushing down the elevator. The next thirty minutes were a blur of frantic driving, whispered prayers, and worst-case scenarios. When she reached the hospital, she was directed to the pediatric ER. The sterile smell hit her first, then the sight of tiny children with scrapes and

Leonardo didn’t go home.He drove straight to the hospital, his knuckles white on the steering wheel, jaw locked in cold fury and every second away from her made it harder to breathe. Every red light felt like an eternity. His heart only knew one language now: to reach her, see her, touch her, feel her. He parked recklessly and sprinted through the entrance, ignoring the calls from security and nurses asking him to calm down. Now, outside the examination room, he paced the hallway like a madman. His fingers curled into fists. His jaw clenched. He kept glancing toward the closed door, praying for good news. Time was dragging, and every second without her felt like torture. Finally, the door creaked open, and a doctor stepped out, removing her gloves.Leonardo rushed forward. “Doctor? My wife… how is she? And the baby?” His voice trembled despite his best efforts to stay composed. The doctor offered a reassuring smile. “There’s no need to worry, Mr. Morelli. Though she’s sustained some
