Chapter Thirty

Thunder rumbled from outside, casting eerie glows in the dim lit manor which was bathed in an ugly silence. The servants lingered in the corners, scared of what will happen to them in this suffocating day, and how many of them will make it out alive.

The silence was just too much, too much to bear at the same time the occasional pounding of the rain from outside was disturbing the quiet.

Another thunder, and this time most of the servants did flinch, scattering away to the lower level kitchen to find comfort there.

Lucian watched all this from the top of the stairs, dressed in his best black suit before he released a long sigh, looking down at his feet. Then he nodded to himself before walking towards a certain door. Lucian knocked softly, but no reply came. Taking matters into his own hands Lucian slowly pushed the door to a creek, letting his head inside.

"Lina?" He asked, surprised how his voice echoed inside the once blooming room.

When no reply came, Lucian stepped inside, shut
