Chapter 9 – His Fiancé?

Mia’s POV

I noticed Kraven practically watched me eat, his gaze kept trailing my every move like I was some sort of gourmet performance. I tried to pretend I didn’t see it, but let’s be honest—my peripheral vision was working overtime. I stole glances whenever I could, and every time I looked up, he didn’t even bother to look away.

I noticed that his face, which used to be all stone and shadows, had softened a little. There was even a smile- real one at that. Not the mocking smirk or sly grin he often wore like armor. This one felt... different.

Oh God. That smile. I had already categorized him as dangerously handsome, but now—with that smile—he was on a whole new level of panty-dropping cuteness. I was doomed. There was no unseeing that.

“You are everything in a woman and more. I really can't wait to handle your body in the way that would make you scream for me,” he said, like he was narrating the opening lines of a steamy romance novel.

My fork froze midway to my mouth. Because that

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 69 — The Man I Thought I Knew

Giovanni’s POVThe photograph stayed in my mind all night.Even when I finally closed my eyes, I could still see it behind my lids—Marco sitting across from that nameless man, an espresso cup untouched between them. His face was unreadable. But not unfamiliar.I hadn’t confronted him yet. Not out of fear—but because I wanted to be sure. I wasn’t the kind of man who threw stones without knowing where the ripple would land. So I had to wait till the next day.By morning, I showered and got dressed in my black two-piece suit with the wine label pin on my lapel. Same routine, you know. Same face in the mirror. But something underneath felt altered. More like a fracture invisible to the eye.I didn’t sleep more than two hours, but I looked like I’d had ten. That’s the thing about experience—it teaches you how to hide exhaustion better than concealers ever could. The deeper the wound, the quieter the man becomes.I drove to Marco’s office myself. No driver or even escort. Just me.The city

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 68. Seduction

Giovanni’s POVI was all alone at home, thinking of what exactly to do with regards to everything that had happened so fast which was at the verge of eating me up.Just then, I got a call from the security men at the front gate that someone needed to see me.Then I was informed that a woman came in a silver Porsche to see me . Her name was already logged in the guest register as: Sofia Russo.Though I hadn’t invited her, but then something about her unannounced arrival didn’t rattle me in any way. If anything, it confirmed a hunch I had been nursing all week. People like her didn’t wait for open doors as they walked in, smiled, and made you believe you wanted them there.I glanced at the wine cellar clock. Just after 8 p.m and I confirmed that I had no scheduled meetings with anyone. It was just me and the hum of my thoughts.“Send her through,” I told security.Ten minutes later, she was standing in my private lounge, in a blue sexy looking dress with her lips glossed like temptation

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 67 – The Debt Trap

Giovanni’s POVI never thought I would find myself in a position like this—backed into a corner I didn’t see coming. But here I was. The walls of Il Leone Nero felt smaller now and even tighter. Like the air was shrinking. On the surface, I wore the same suit as I walked the same floors as I smiled at myself like anything was funny. But under it? My empire was bleeding. The drop in revenue hit faster than I expected. Between the same problems of bad liquor shipments although I have tried so much to control that to a fault, fleeing clients, and Kraven’s branding circus luring my elite like moths to a shinier flame, cash flow had dried to a trickle. We still made money. Just not enough to cover the rot he had planted beneath us.And with complaints flooding in and the overdose video making quiet rounds in the right—and wrong—circles, I had a choice to make:Either I started selling off pieces of my name...Or I let the whole fucking lion die. Not necessarily that I was out of money but

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 66 – I don’t lose wars.

Giovanni’s POVAt first, it came as a whisper. Then a hum.Now that I got very close to make sure that it's not just mere imagination, I could bet that it was a goddamn roar.Kraven wasn’t just opening a club. He was staging a spectacle. I hadn’t seen him, yet—but his fingerprints were all over the chaos unfolding right before my nose.First, it was the rebranding. That smug tagline appeared on billboards and digital flyers overnight:"Real Power Has Taste."Written in gold against a black background—just enough to mimic mine, but modernized, sharper and cleaner.“Cheap stunt,” I muttered when I first saw it, flicking ash from my cigar out the window. But it wasn’t just a stunt as this was actually working. The VIPs were the first to slip. More like subtle shifts, texts ignored and last-minute cancellations. Tables reserved and never filled. The people who used to beg for booth 7—the one with the corner view and private curtain—now acted like they didn’t even know the name Il Leone Ner

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 65– Who bought you?

Giovanni’s POV“Boss, we have recorded a very low sale in the last three days and this has never happened before as it is quite unusual.”My club manager informed me the moment I got into my office. Haven't visited here for like 2 weeks now and so I decided to do today and this was what I was just getting. Now, I could dictate something was off and it was as if I felt it before I saw it.At first when I heard that over the phone, I thought maybe it was just one of those weeks. Probably people get busy or people go broke. And so, I didn’t panic. I’ve run clubs long enough to know the rhythm of this business. It dips and not long, it also bounces back. But just like he said that this is actually the third day and I could say that the dip started to look like a damn crater. Also I could also see that for myself. No shows. Many bottles untouched. Tables empty in the middle of peak hours. Too many loyal faces suddenly vanishing like they owed me something—and maybe they did.I came out of m

  • The Mafia's Undercover Princess   Chapter 64- What is he up to?

Mia’s POV“Since Giovanni feels he can play the game, then I will show him how it's been played,” Kraven said. The way he said it, like he was holding back a smirk, made something I wouldn't really say what it was to tighten in my chest. Though his voice wasn’t loud, it carried weight. That kind of calm that only comes from someone who knows exactly what they are about to do and how far they are willing to go.I raised a brow, folding my arms across my chest. “What do you mean by that?”He gave a small chuckle, shaking his head like I should have already known. “Isn't it obvious? You have successfully deactivated the plans they had using the cheat code you got, and they would still be thinking they are in the lead.”He leaned back in the seat with his eyes narrowing slightly like he was watching everything play out in real-time in his mind.“By the time that they will even get to know what is happening, I would have been far gone with my own plan.”I blinked slowly, processing his wor
