"It's your audacity for me," my step mom Madame Amanda yelled as I packed my bag.
"How dare you lie about the Alpha? He can never look at someone like you twice. I have always told you that you are worthless, and will never amount to anything. You see... banished from your pack as an abomination."
I didn't say a word to her, she was the least of my problems. I had nowhere to go, and I didn't have a dime on me.
After packing the little worn out clothes I had, I took a breath, staring at the place I once called home. The place my father raised me in love before his untimely demise, and the same place that broke me.
Tears rolled down my eyes, I used the back of my hand to wipe it away. I picked up my bag, and headed out. As I walked out, everyone along the way who saw me, whispered. Some openly called me an abomination, and others laughed at me.
With my bag in my hand, I headed to the pack's bus station. I didn't even know what the plan was, and my stomach hurt from hunger, but I just kept moving.
Suddenly, a voice screamed my name from behind. "Ella,"
Startled, I stopped and turned around to Grandma Margret. An elderly woman I help from time to time.
"Grandma," I gasped, running to her, "What are you doing here?" I asked as my arm embraced her.
She held me so tight, pulled me away, and then cupped my face with her hand, "I had to see you before you left my sweet child."
A tear dropped down my eyes. "But grandma, you know you can't be seen talking to me. I don't want them to punish you."
"I don't care," her eyes were filled with sadness. "I believe you, I believe everything you said, Ella."
"Grandma," I stuttered as tears fell freely down my cheek.
"It's going to be okay my child," she wiped my tears with the back of her hand. "Take this, she handed an envelope to me, containing a seal, some money, and a piece of paper."
"Go to this address, show them the seal and letter," she said. "Everything will be fine." She placed her hand on my belly and smiled. "Goodbye my child." And with that, she slowly walked away.
After what seemed like forever, I finally arrived at the address given to me by grandma Margaret. My eyes move from one corner to the next, I have never seen a place as beautiful as this, not even my pack comes close. “Welcome to Bluehood Pack” was boldly written at the main gate. I took a deep breath, held my bag tighter and moved closer to the gate.
"Can I help you?" a husky voice asked, standing at the other side of the gate.
My eyes slowly moved to a huge man in a leather outfit. My mouth opened, but no words could come out, I just nodded and handed him over the note and seal. He stared at me curiously, then at the note and back at me.
"Wait here," he commanded as he walked into one of the quarters.
I simply nodded and kept feeding my eyes. Some people passed by smiling at me. I didn't know what to do... whether to smile back, or just turn away.
"You may come in," the man said few minutes later as he opened the gate and ushered me in.
As I walked into the pack, everywhere looked so luxurious. There were luxurious quarters, painted with attractive colours, there were a fleet of cars lined up in each quarter, the land looked super healthy, and by what I was seeing, the pack had lots of members.
I bit my lower lip, as I walked behind the guard admiring the whole place.
The guard opened a very big door, and we walked into a grand hall, it was painted with vibrant colours and had expensive gold chairs. My eyes moved from one corner to the other, I had never seen anything as grand as this before in my life.
"Welcome," a voice greeted from behind.
I turned immediately to an elderly man, he should be in his sixties dressed in royalty, I didn't even need anyone to tell me that he was the Alpha.
"Goo.. good day sir," I stuttered, bowing my head.
"Relax," he said, smiling as he sat on the chair. "I'm Alpha Jacob... welcome to my pack."
"Thank you Alpha," I replied with my head still bowed.
"Come," he commanded. "Sit," he continued, pointing at the empty seat opposite him.
I didn't want to sit, I felt too dirty to sit on such a royal chair, so I just stood.
"I have read the letter given to you by my close friend Margret, and I would like to help you. But first, you need to rest... you look tired."
"Thank you sir," I said, falling to the ground. My stomach made a little noise from hunger and I felt embarrassed.
His lips curled into a smile. "It's nothing." His eyes moved to the guard who had been standing by the door. "Take her to the special room, and get one of the maids to get her something to eat." And with that, he walked away.
"This way," the guard commanded, pointing at the hallway.
I nodded and followed behind him, like a slave obeying her master
He escorted me into a very glamorous room. The room was very big...my eyes moved to the furniture...the wood was dark and expensive, the curtains were made with the most expensive material, and then, my eyes moved to the bed. I was blown away. The bedrail was made with gold... like real gold, and the covers real fur. When I touched the bed it was so soft. I had never slept in anything like this.
My eyes caught another door. I slowly walked closer to it. I stretched my hands to the door knob, but I stopped, what if... what if I'm not supposed to touch anything, I really don't want any issues…what if someone is watching me. I bit my lower lips, trying to resist the urge, but curiosity got the better part of me. I twisted the door knob and what I saw shocked me.
The bathroom looked breathtaking, words can't explain how it looked... everything was shiny from the marble floor to the silver fixtures. The bathtub is so big, even the special one made for Mary by my stepmother at home isn't as big as this one. My eyes move to the towel, neatly arranged on the shelf. I walked quietly to it, my fingers brush over the towels, they were thick and soft. I didn't own a towel back in my house, my stepmother always said the towels were too good for someone like me.
There were different types of body wash and shampoo lined up...things I never thought I'd ever use.
I quietly closed the door, and sat on the bed, tired, and afraid...I didn't know what to do or expect next. The sound of the door opening startled me. I quickly jumped to my feet.
A maid walked in holding a silver tray in her hand. She placed it on the table next to me, smiled, bowed her head and walked away.
"What is happening?" I whispered to myself, if this is a dream, I definitely do not want to wake up.
Ella's POV "Yes," he responded. "just one dinner date."I sighed and got up, picking up my handbag, "Thank you, but no thanks, I will find a way and if you're lying about this, I'll be back for you."As I turned to leave, he stood up immediately and ran in front of me. "Listen Ella, I'm really sorry about how cheesy I sound, but I really... really like you. I have liked you from the first day I saw you. I'm very bad at expressing my feelings, but please just go on this dinner date with me, and if you don't like it, I will never bother you again. I promise."I stared at him for a while, I could see the sincerity in his eyes, but I wasn't ready to get involved with any man. All my focus is on Robin. But I have never been on a date before, it won't be bad to know what it feels like.I cleared my throat, "Fine... but just because I need the name.""Thank you," he replied smiling. "Tomorrow, 7 pm. I will text you the address."I looked at him curiously, "But you don't have my number.""Oh
Ella's POV "Please sit," he said, pointing at the empty chair in front of me.I was too confused to say anything, I just stared at him, and sat down.He studied me for a while and then said, " It looks like the universe keeps bringing us together…like we are meant to be.”I scoffed and murmured to myself, “Universe my ass.”“What did you say?” He asked, leaning forward.“Nothing,” I replied, shaking my head. How exactly is he the Alpha, he doesn't look like an alpha. He looks like a carefree Playboy.I couldn't hold it in anymore, I had to ask, “How exactly are you an alpha…you look too…”“Handsome,” he cut me off laughing.I rolled my eyes and scoffed. He was handsome, I will give him that, but that shouldn't make his head swell.“No,” I responded. “Carefree and ordinary.”He let out a loud laugh. “Exactly what I was going for.”I didn't say a word, I just stared at him."And lemme ask you, if I had told you I was Alpha Eric at the exhibition, would you have believed me? Wouldn't yo
Ella's Pov I shut the door behind me, and walked in angrily. “Is everything okay?” Richard asked rushing out, “I heard voices,” his eyes peeping out the window, but Brandon had already left. “Who was that?” Richard continued. “Who was that where?” I asked as if I didn't know what he was talking about. “Who were you talking to?” “Nobody important, just someone that lost his way. I need to go pick Robin up from school, we'll talk later.” And with that I walked away, avoiding more questions. “This was exactly what I was trying to avoid,” I murmured to myself in the back seat of the car. “Robin is mine, and nobody will share him with me. It's his audacity for me…I will do anything to protect my son.” “Mama,” Robin screamed as he hugged me. “My face lit up instantly. “How was school?” I asked as I opened the car door for him. “It was fun Mama…awesome. “That's nice…so have you thought of a theme for your upcoming birthday party?” “No Mama, I'm still thinking, don't worry bef
Ella's pov One Week Later “The women in the pack have been singing your praises, since you helped one of them with her domestic violence case…Good job.” Richard said, patting my back. I smiled and responded, “It's what I do.” “Hmmm…just this little complement, see how big your head has become,” Richard teased. I hit him lightly on his arm. “You have started ooo. See who is saying someone's head is big, have you looked at yourself in the mirror…who do you even look like, because Papa was a very handsome man, and the pictures I have seen of mom, she looks so beautiful. But you…? He let out a loud laugh, “nice come back, don't worry, I’ll get you.” “You can't do nothing.” I replied, teasing him. “I hope you know you will be joining me at the office next week. It's high time you start coming there and you need to start attending council meetings too.” “Me! Council meetings…what exactly am I suppose to be doing there, I'm not the Alpha, you are.” “This is our pack,” he replied,
Ella's POV He just stared at me smiling, like the whole incident excited him. "I'm so sorry," I apologized. "I didn't mean to...I..." "It's fine," he cut me off smiling. "I like a bold woman," he continued. "A woman not scared to say what's on her mind." He smiled, staring deep at me. "After all it doesn't hurt to have a critic... it actually means, "I'm that good." I was so embarrassed, I didn't even have the right words to say. Fuck! Richard will chew me up. This mouth of mine..when do I learn that everywhere isn't a courtroom. "My name is Maestro, what's yours?" he asked, extending his hand. I sure as hell aren't telling him who I am. So what do I tell him? "I...." "Mastero,” a voice from behind called him. He turned to a young lady, she whispered something in his ears, he nodded, she smiled and walked away. "I'm so sorry I have to be excused,” he said , “but we aren't done here. Please don't leave, I want us to talk some more. I nodded and put up a fake smile on my face.
Ella's POV Saturday Evening "You look very beautiful Mama," Robin said smiling, his eyes filled with admiration. His words melted my heart. "Thanks baby," I replied, moving closer to him, and cupping his face. "Make sure you don't give your nanny a hard time... okay?" He nodded, smiled and walked away. I slowly walked back to the mirror, admiring myself. My blue gown looked amazing on me, complementing my eyes. The stylist had convinced me to wrap my hair up, and I must say, it looks very good on me. "I really can't wait for this exhibition to be over, I have never been a fan of art," I whispered to myself, as I used my right thumb to clean up a little lipstick stain. I took a deep breath, staring lost at the mirror. "Richard... see how you're stressing me out."I murmured to myself. Well, all I need to do is show up, stay for a few minutes and leave. The vibration of my phone broke my thoughts. I picked it up, and stared at the caller ID...My PA "Good day Ma,"
