Forty three

Everything flew past Maisie in a state of unawareness that started when Zach suddenly fell on the floor. She knew that she rushed to his side and screamed and maybe shed some tears but it happened like she was watching a movie without comprehending what was going on. She knew that the doctors said she slipped into shock and they had to give her something that made her feel numb which was a joke since she was already feeling numb, she knew that they would have given her something stronger to knock her out but for that they had to get her into a hospital bed and that means she had to leave front of the room where Zach was taken and that caused her to pitch an unholy fit.  They settled to giving her something mild and left her in the care of Betty who had somehow remained by her side.
