Kai turned.

He stared at her for a moment before answering.

"You called my old number," he said.

Elysia frowned.

For a few seconds, neither of them spoke.

When his phone had rung that night and her name had flashed across the screen, he'd genuinely thought he was imagining it.

At first, he'd wondered if she'd called him by mistake. If she'd been trying to reach someone else.

Or if, after all these years, she had actually intended to call him.

He'd kept the number. His old number.

Truthfully, he

Elysia stirred slowly, her face still buried against the firm warmth of Kai's chest. She tried to move away, but his arms instinctively tightened around her, pulling her right back against him.She rolled her eyes with a dramatic sigh.Typical Kai.She lifted her head and quietly stared at his sleeping face. His long lashes, his slightly pouty lips. The faint crease between his brows. The tiny dimple resting on one side of his cheek.Almost absentmindedly, she reached out and traced a finger lightly down the bridge of his nose.Kai stirred.A lazy smile slowly spread across his lips before he caught her finger between his teeth and gave it the gentlest bite."Do you want to go again?" he asked, his voice still thick with sleep.Elysia quickly pulled her finger back, her cheeks flushing."What are you even saying?" She laughed, lightly hitting his chest.Kai chuckled and sat up, leaning comfortably against the headboard. He turned slightly towards her and reached out, gently brushing a

Kai kissed her passionately the moment he laid her down on the large, fluffy bed.Elysia wrapped both arms around his neck, refusing to let go. She melted completely into the feeling of his lips against hers, kissing him back with the same quiet desperation she'd been holding back for months.Somewhere on the bed, her phone suddenly began to ring.Kai instinctively started to pull away, but Elysia tightened her arms around him."Don't..." she whispered against his lips. "Let it ring."A smile tugged at the corner of Kai's mouth before he captured her lips again, kissing her even deeper.Elysia slowly lifted her legs and wrapped them around his waist, pulling him impossibly closer. She could feel something firm pressing lightly against her stomach beneath the fabric of his sweatpants.Kai finally broke the kiss, both of them breathing harder than before.Without taking his eyes off her, he reached behind his neck and pulled his shirt over his head in one smooth motion before tossing i

“Six years…”Kai's cold, razor-sharp voice echoed through the room.Richard lowered his head, unable to meet his son's eyes.Guilt twisted deep inside him, leaving him unable to find the right words. He'd expected this confrontation. He just hadn't expected it to leave him completely speechless.“I'm sorry…” he finally said, his voice low. “I did what I thought was best. For you... for everyone.”“What's best for me and everyone?” Kai scoffed bitterly. “You left me all alone.”For six years… He'd believed he'd lost the only family he had left. The night Nicole broke the news to him, his entire world had simply... stopped. His mind had gone numb. He'd spent the last six years working himself to the bone, building everything he owned from absolutely nothing, all because he'd wanted to make his apparently dead father proud.Only for that same man to suddenly return from God knew where. And what infuriated him most wasn't even the fact that Richard was alive. It was the fact that he still

“H-Help me… please.” Victoria called out again. The pain had become unbearable. Her white dress was now stained both in front and behind, the crimson spreading so quickly it made her breathing hitch. Every cramp felt sharper than the last, twisting through her abdomen until she could barely stay upright. She tried reaching for her phone again, but her trembling fingertips only managed to push it farther away. It scraped uselessly across the polished floor, just beyond her reach no matter how desperately she stretched for it.Two of the company's staff who were passing by heard her.“Oh my God…” one of them gasped before immediately running towards Victoria.“Call an ambulance!” she shouted to her colleague, who instantly pulled out her phone and began dialing. “She's bleeding!”Within seconds, a small panicked crowd had already formed around the elevator. A few employees stood frozen in shock while others hurried over, unsure whether to help or give her space. Someone crouched bes

“You and I both know exactly what this means.” Victoria finally said after the silence had stretched long enough.Alistair slowly lifted his eyes from the documents.Victoria leaned back comfortably in her chair, the corners of her lips lifting into a satisfied smile."And I promise you..." she said almost lazily, "there's a lot more where that came from."Only then did Alistair lean back in his own chair.Truthfully… He wasn't surprised. From the very beginning, he'd never trusted Daniel completely. Not because Daniel lacked intelligence.Quite the opposite. He was ambitious, far too ambitious. But to think Daniel had the audacity to quietly siphon millions of dollars in annual profits into offshore shell companies behind his back…That was something else entirely. The fool had been preparing an escape route all along.Insurance. If everything ever collapsed, Daniel would've walked away with enough money to build another empire elsewhere.Alistair's fingers tapped once against the a

“I'd like to see Alistair Windsor, please.”Victoria stood in the lobby of W Holdings headquarters, her baby bump rounded and visible beneath the white designer dress she wore.Everything about her screamed expensive.Pampered and untouchable. The oversized sunglasses resting on her face and the elegant hat perched neatly on her head made it difficult to tell whether she was dressed that way for fashion...Or simply to provoke a reaction.“Do you have an appointment?” the receptionist asked politely.Victoria rolled her eyes. The audacity of these minimum-wage workers was honestly getting out of hand.“Do I need an appointment to see my father-in-law?” she asked, holding out one perfectly manicured hand as she admired her nails, sounding more bored than offended.Father-in-law?The receptionist stared at her for a brief moment before regaining her composure.“I'll call to inform him.” Her voice remained just as polite. She picked up the phone and dialed the chairman's office.Victoria

“What’s that?” Declan asked.Elysia didn’t answer immediately. She slowly stepped back down the stairs and bent to pick up the paper, her movements calm and controlled.Panic would only draw suspicion, and right now that was the one thing she couldn’t afford. She slipped the folded paper back into

“Are you sure you want to go through with the procedure, Mrs Windsor?” the doctor asked.Elysia sat stiffly in the chair, fingers locked tightly in her lap to keep them from shaking. It came back to her in flashes—sharp, unwanted and cruel.Elysia stumbled up the stairs, gripping the railing so hard her fingers ached, her chest tightening like something inside her was breaking all over again. She had been on the phone earlier that evening with her mother.“Honey, it’s time to l
