Chapter 58

I rested my head on the car's window as I hummed to the song in my head. There was no tension between us as Damon drove to the hospital though he had looked at me a couple of times like he was meaning to speak to me. When he stared at me more during the red light, I didn't help myself from glaring at him as my forehead furrowed, that alone was enough to put him off and scare him away.

He went back to focusing more on the road than on my face as he took a U-turn and diverted to an enclosed road way off the path that led to the hospital.

I wanted to complain but also didn't want to be first person to speak to him, I just couldn't decide what to say to him or how to start. I finally dropped every animosity I had within me so I don't come off as rude as I asked, "Where are we headed, Damon? The hospital is the other way...." I made a hand signal to the back as I beckoned on him to offer an explanation.
