QUEENETH’S POV

The school felt louder than I remembered after the mourning days were over, with people running through the hallways, laughing again, and music leaking from phones, but all I could hear was the hollow sound in my chest that began after the burial.

Collins came back today

He wasn’t by himself.

Hilda followed him into the faculty building as if she had been here for ages, wearing our uniform and wearing the Law Department crest on her breast pocket as if she owned it. She smiled at everyone, even the lecturers seemed enchanted, and I kept my eyes on my locker pretending to arrange my timetable, but every laugh she made echoed too close.

Collins entered our class following morning assembly. Everyone abruptly pretended to be concentrating on their books as the noise level dropped. He stood by the door, tall and quiet, holding a folded note. "Queeneth, can I talk to you?" he said in a low voice.

It still hurt to hear my name in his mouth.

We went outside. He

QUEENETH’S POVI did not feel like myself anymore. Something inside me cracked open and everything I had been holding in for months rushed out. The confusion. The anger. The pain I never admitted. The loneliness I carried even when people stood beside me. It rose like a wave and my wolf took control before I even had time to think.I launched at Dante before the night could even catch its breath. The force surprised even me. He tried to dodge but I saw through every move he made. He swung at me and I slipped past him like my body already knew the answer. My claws scraped across him and he stumbled back. The sound of his breath grew rough but nothing inside me softened.I heard Collins calling me to stop, his voice breaking. It reached my ears but it did not reach me. Not fully. Not yet. I wanted Dante to feel everything he made me feel. I wanted him to understand what it meant to play with somebody’s heart like it was a toy.Dante staggered and changed back into his human form. His br

COLLINS’S POVI should have gone to sleep. That was what I told myself when I went back into my room after the court case. But my body refused to settle. Something kept pushing me. Something restless. Something that felt like a warning. When I saw Queen climbing out of her window, I did not even think. My chest tightened in a way I could not explain. She looked like someone walking into a storm with no umbrella. So I followed her, staying far enough that she would not notice. There was a strange pull in my stomach, a quiet voice that kept whispering that something was wrong. The path through the trees felt endless. There was a heaviness in the air, like the night itself held its breath. I saw her reach the clearing and I saw Dante waiting there. My hands curled into fists even before he opened his mouth.I stood behind the trees, just close enough to hear everything. When Queen fell to the ground, my heart dropped. When Dante told her she was supposed to lose her wolf, my whole body t

QUEENETH’S POVI was awake long after the house went quiet. My blanket felt too warm, then too cold. My pillow felt like it was holding secrets. My eyes were tired but my mind refused to slow down. Everything from today kept pushing into my head. Collins winning the case, Reuben’s worried eyes, Dante’s face when he kissed me earlier, the way the courtroom air felt heavy on my skin.Nothing made sense anymore. My body was lying in bed but my thoughts were pacing. When the knock came on my window, I froze. It was soft at first. Then again, sharper, like someone who knew I was awake.I sat up slowly. When I peeked out, Dante stood there. His hands were in his pockets like he had been waiting for hours. The moonlight fell on half of his face. Something about him looked tired. Or maybe I was the tired one seeing things that were not there. He lifted his hand and motioned for me to come out.I opened the window a little.“What are you doing here? It is past midnight.”He smiled, a small one

REUBEN’S POVThe cheers from the courtroom were still ringing in my ears, but they felt far away, like they came from a place I wasn’t part of.Collins won.Everyone was celebrating.Everyone except Queen, who slipped out so quietly that half the class didn’t even notice.Success, though… she practically stormed out.And I followed her.The sky outside was cloudy, heavy. The parking lot was almost empty, only a few cars and the echo of her fast footsteps.“Success,” I called. She paused beside her car but didn’t turn. She waited, her shoulders tight.Almost like she already knew what I came for. When I reached her, she finally looked at me. A mocking smile stretched across her face.“Come to rub it in?” she asked. “Your little princess won.”I ignored the jab. “Why did you do it?”She blinked once. “Do what?”“The hospital,” I said. “Why did you inject her? What did you give her?”There was a heartbeat of silence. Then she let out a slow laugh. It was soft, controlled, and dangerous.

QUEENETH’S POVThe morning felt heavy the moment I opened my eyes. Not the normal kind of tension before a test. This one sat in my chest like a stone, forcing my breath to come in short, shaky pulls.Today was the school court.Today everything could shift.I checked my bag three times, making sure the documents were still there. The old parchment smelled like dust and secrets, but it held the truth I needed. The truth Collins needed, even if he didn’t trust me right now.I walked toward the courtroom, rehearsing my points in my head, trying to keep my heartbeat steady. But then someone stepped into my path.Collins.He didn’t look angry.Just… wounded.Confused.Like he’d spent the whole night asking himself questions no one answered.“We need to talk,” he said.“Not now,” I replied, trying to slip past him. “The session is starting soon.”He caught my arm.Not rough enough to hurt, but tight enough to stop me.“Is it true you’re planning something against me?”I stared at him.My s

COLLINS’S POVI wasn’t supposed to look through that window.I wasn’t supposed to pause.I wasn’t supposed to see her like that. But I did.Queen was in the library, sitting there with books scattered everywhere like she was trying to rebuild her whole life from pieces. Dante leaned toward her, said something I couldn’t hear, and then…He kissed her.And she didn’t push him away. The sight hit me so hard my chest tightened.I stopped breathing for a second. It felt like something sharp slid straight through me, slow and cold.Hilda tugged my arm gently. “Collins? Are you okay?”I swallowed everything that wanted to spill out.“I’m fine. Let’s go.”My voice cracked, but she didn’t notice. We started walking, side by side, and she kept talking about… I don’t even know what. Clothes. Her mum’s cooking. Her class. Something about a cat that kept eating her snacks.I didn’t hear any of it.All I saw was Queen.Queen letting someone else touch her.Queen looking at Dante like the world wasn
