**Olivia's POV**

“Just know that it's going to sting… a lot.” The other lady smirked and I gasped.

“Come on, Candice. You don't have to make her feel scared.” The doctor folded her hands.

“I'm not trying to make her feel scared, Susan. I'm only stating the facts. Suppressants hurt a lot.” She chuckled.

Suppressants? What were they giving me suppressants for? I looked at the doctor with a panic stricken face. She sighed.

“Don't be scared, okay? This is for your own good. You're a Stealer wolf, and it would be dangerous for you to roam about, since all the unmated and widowed wolves are after you. With this suppressant, we'd be able to cage that stealer wolf in you and make your scent unperceivable for them. I hope you understand what I mean?” She asked and I nodded.

“Can't she talk, or is she too terrified to speak?” Candice asked, and I lowered my head.

“She's a mute.” The doctor replied and took the syringe.

“What!” Candice burst out laughing.

The doctor hit her and glared at her. She laughed and went to sit down in a corner in the ward.

“It's going to sting a little bit, okay?” The doctor smiled and I nodded.

She took the syringe and I closed my eyes, waiting for the sting. It came in contact with my skin, and before I knew it, the sting came. I shut my eyes tight and bit my lip to suppress a wince.

“Done. You're a strong lady,” She pinched my cheek fondly and I smiled. At least the doctor was nice to me. “I'll be right back.” She said and walked out of the ward.

I looked around the ward and my eyes met with that of Candice. She stood up and walked up to me.

“So, what relationship do you have with the Alpha? Are you his sister or his cousin? Maybe his niece?” She asked and I frowned.

I knew she was purposely trying to mock me.

She laughed. “Oh, I forgot. You are dumb,” She burst out laughing. I bawled my fist, wishing I could just tear her into pieces. I would have taught her a lesson but considering my situation, she might just cook up a terrible lie about me and get me punished or worse, killed.

She closed the space between us and held my chin roughly. “Even though you're dumb, I'm sure you aren't deaf. Listen carefully, the Alpha is mine and would forever be mine. You better take your eyes away from him, else I won't hesitate to paralyze you. At least, paralysis would go with your dumbness,” She threatened and moved back, still looking at me. “And wait… did you think he cared about you by giving you a suppressant? Don't be so ahead of yourself, darling. The Alpha would never love a liability for you.” She snapped and laughed before walking out.

I didn't know when tears started rolling down my cheeks. I quickly wiped them the moment the door opened, and the doctor stuck her head in.

“Olivia, you can go now. Don't worry about anything, the wolves won't take you,” She said, and I nodded.

I got down and walked out of the hospital. I was still conscious about the wolves, but when I walked past them, they stayed put and did nothing to me. Sighing in relief, I hurriedly made my way to the palace, where I met the Alpha.

He gestured and I walked up to him. He still had that icy gaze on, forcing me to lower my head.

“Now that you're no longer a distraction to wolves, you can stay in this Palace. You're going to be kept here as my slave to serve me, if you know what I mean. You're to work in my room and get things done quickly because I hate slow paced work. And oh, you'll be training with the female warriors as well. They're meeting there today, so you should go, but that would be after you take care of my needs,”

I looked up and nodded. “Follow me,” He said and started walking away. We alighted the stairs and took other stairs to the second floor, where his chamber was located. When we got there, he opened the door and I walked in. The room looked magnificent and spotless.

“This is where you're to work every day. Now, go into the kitchen and prepare something for me to eat. Make it tasty, or you might add deafness to your dumbness.” He scoffed and my heart broke.

I strode to the kitchen and looked through the menu there. Turns out, he had a timetable for his everyday meal. Tuesday, which is today, he'd be eating Pasta and tomato sauce with salad.

I sighed. I can do that.

I got to work immediately and was done cooking in no time. I arranged everything in a tray and walked to the living room, where he sat attending to some files. I couldn't talk, so I cleared my throat to draw his attention.

He turned and gestured for me to place it on the table, which I did.

He stood up and walked up to me, opened the food and returned his gaze to me. “Taste it,” He ordered, and I blinked.

“What? Are you scared? Were you trying to poison me?” He asked and I quickly shook my head.

“Taste it then,” He folded his hands.

I rushed to the kitchen, picked up a fork and returned to the food. He shifted it close to me and I tasted it.

“Take another one,” He ordered, and I obliged. When I was done, he made me wait for five minutes. “You can go to the training ground now.”

I bowed and walked out. Why on Earth would he think that I'd poison him? Was I that bad?

“Olivia,”

I stopped in my tracks. I know that voice anywhere. When I turned, my father quickly rushed to me. He tried to touch me, but I moved back.

“Come on, Olivia. Don't be like this. I'm your father,” He said, and I scoffed. After everything he did to me, he still has the heart to call himself my father? “I know you've always wanted to make me proud, so I need your help with something urgent,” He said, and I facepalmed.

I should have seen this coming. With folded hands, I made a sign asking what he wanted. He looked both ways and gestured for me to come closer. When I did, he whispered into my ears.

“We need you to poison Alpha Devon and lock his wolf.” He dropped the bomb and my eyes widened.

What the heck!

  • The Mute Luna   Chapter 180

Olivia's POVDawn took extremely too long to come and I guessed it was due to my over excitement for today. Noon did the same thing and when evening slowly approached, I was seated in front of the vanity mirror with Gabi, Susan and a couple other ladies beside me.Right now, I was surrounded by ladies I see in the pack, but do not know them and that I had barely associated with.It was all going to change when I finally become the Lady of the house. The Luna of the silvermoon pack. Fuss was made over my nails of what nail polish color would fit perfectly on it. I let them make the fuss cause I did not care much about it. I just wanted to be linked arm in arm with my groom and tell him ' I do'. They finally decided on a chic blue nail polish coupled with a glitter lacquer polish for design. It did turn out great and my toe nails were given a nude nail polish color after minutes of a nice pedicure. Same fuss was made over my hair of which style would fit the Lady of the house. I had

Devon's POVThe training lasted till midnight before Damian everyone to retire to their rooms for the battle ahead. The morning came more quickly than expected but the pack warriors did not look like they lacked sleep. For this has done this before.I addressed the pack concerning the battle with the tyrant, Rodrigo. A few warriors were assigned to guard the palace with all their strength. We were ready, dressed, swords in our hands and guns too for the battle that was about to take place.Just then sounds of hooves on the ground and approaching cars could be heard from a distance."It's now or never," Damian said to me. He was indeed ready.Hell let loose as bullets and arrows flew around. It came out so sudden. I almost pushed Damian out of the way as an arrow was fired towards him, he fell down to the ground as I went off to grab who had fired the arrow.Rodrigo's men were advancing towards us, a battalion of them. My warriors charged towards them. Heads were ripped off, hearts we

  • The Mute Luna   Chapter 178

Devon's POVThe sudden appearance of the red moon was quite baffling. It arrival before it said date took us off guard. The pack guards went in search of the sage in the caves but as usual there was nothing. Perhaps, this was just a facade of the red moon? I pondered.I got back to the palace and Olivia was not in her room. I asked about her from Gabi and she told me Olivia was in the garden.I got there and saw her staring at a plant. "Hey, love. What are you looking at?" I asked her."Hi, um, it's this green plant, it shines but it won't let me uproot it," she replied."Let me see," I said as I drew nearer to the plant. It was the sage! "My, it's the sage," I said in excitement. She grinned. "Well, uproot it!" She said to me. I tried to uproot it but it wouldn't. This was just a plant and not a tree, yet it was hard to uproot. I tried severally but it would not come out of the ground. "How about we do it together?" She suggested. I agreed and when we did, the sage came off so easily

  • The Mute Luna   Chapter 177

Devon's POVThe more she lied the more she infuriated me. "You don't know what I'm talking about?" I asked her again and she stared at me. "Fine," I added as I dialled Damian's number. "Bring the girl in," I said into the phone and then hung up.A few minutes later, Damian walked into the house with Trisha who was frightened. Candice could not hide the horror on her face."Will you claim not to know this woman?" I asked her."I don't know her," Candice replied with confidence."Stop lying!" Trisha yelled at her. "Look at what you've gotten me into. These guys came to the club and dragged me out like a loser. I warned you about this but you still indulged me into it by tempting me with what I love the most," Trisha said to Candice in anger."Liar! I don't know you!" Candice yelled at her."Trisha, repeat everything you told me about Candice in the car," I said to her.Trisha swallowed. "Candice and I are co-workers at the strip club," she began to say and Olivia was shocked. "She came

  • The Mute Luna   Chapter 176

Candice's POVI returned back to the house and I saw Susan with a blanket wrapped her shoulder as she sipped a cup containing coffee I believe. "Why are you all wrapped up when it's barely chilling outside?" I asked her."I'm just thinking," she replied.I snickered as I sat down on the chair. "That's why you're all covered up," I said. "Well, how's Olivia?" I asked her.She shrugged. "Not so good. She's still inside," she replied."What must have happened? Why is she so shaken?" I asked."Well, Devon came by today. Turns out that the reason why Olivia is upset and quiet is because of him," she said with a sigh."Oh my, what happened?" I asked as I pretended as if I did not know what was going on."It turns out Olivia has a video of Devon cheating on her with some girl and some pictures too," she replied."What?" I exclaimed, pretending to be shocked. She nodded, buying all my pretentious act. Damn, I was a good actress!"It's so strange. Devon is so in love with Olivia. I can't belie

  • The Mute Luna   Chapter 175

Devon's POVI got to Susan's place and she immediately opened the door. "Where is she?" I asked as I got in."She's in my room. She won't come out and I have been hearing crying sounds coming from there," she said as she led me to her room.We got to her room and there was Olivia laying face down on the bed in a red dress. "Olivia," I called her name and her body immediately stiffened before she turned around and got off from the bed. "What are you doing here?" She demanded with so much anger in her voice as she stared hard at me with puffy eyes."You're crying," I said going close to her."Don't you dare come close to me. Don't you dare!" She yelled out at me."Olivia, I'm sorry," I was burdened by her behavior as I apologized. I had no idea that the dinner date meant so much to her."Get out," she replied without looking at me."Olivia, I..." I began to say but she did not let me finish when she interrupted me."I said get out!" She yelled in anger."I'm sorry!" I yelled back, not
