Chapter 18

Natasha's POV

“What are you doing here?” Ryan dropped his head on the floor and walked towards me.

I shifted away from him, my hands trembling and my gaze was still on the floor where the man's head was.

“Natasha!” Ryan stopped approaching me.

“I…heard…screaming, that's why….I came to check.” I stuttered in fear.

“You shouldn't be here, I warned you not to come down here!” Ryan snapped at me and I flinched.

“I'm…sorry.” I bowed my head immediately.

My hands were still trembling,I heard Ryan sigh and I looked up at him.

“Go back to your room Tasha, we'll talk tomorrow.” He turned his back and went to take care of the body.

I walked slowly outside,I didn't turn back to look at him for fear that Ryan would growl or do something I might not like. I went to my room and the nauseous feeling took over,I threw up all my stomach content to the extent that my whole body went numb.

Luke couldn't check because of the incident.

“I hope you are good baby?” I rubbed my stomach.

Ryan seems to be on the edge today,I didn't miss the expression on his face. He was frustrated, I wish I could help him out. I'm sure was blaming himself for the rogue's attack. He had so many responsibilities on his shoulder, but honestly I was scared.

I don't know if Ryan is better than Gabriel or worse.

I slept off thinking about his reaction if he ever found out that the child in my Belly is his.

Will he ever forgive me for lying to him?

The morning sun rays hit my room and I refused to get up from bed. There was a knock on my door and I had no choice but to open it.

“Hi.” It was Ryan.

His face looked a little bit pale which gave away the fact that he didn't sleep throughout the night.

“Good morning.” I managed to smile.

I'm sure he was embarrassed, my hair was scattered all over my face and I was still in my pajamas.

“Can I come in?” He requested.

I nodded and stepped away from the door.I didn't want to open my mouth and talk too much because of my breath. I haven't brushed my teeth.

Ryan came in but didn't sit, I'm sure it was because my bed wasn't made.I gritted my teeth in embarrassment,I was self conscious all of a sudden and I wasn't even putting on a bra.

Natasha you are doing bad, did you have to let Ryan see the uncultured kind of woman you are.

“Is something wrong?” I broke the silence.

“Um…no.” Whatever it is he wanted to say,he was really finding it hard to say it.

“Ryan.” I sighed. “If it's about last night,I understand.” I'm sure that was the reason why he came up here to clarify things

As an Alpha I know he has to make some hard decisions. Maybe the man he killed yesterday was a bad person.

“Are…you sure?” He frowned.

“I know you have to make tough decisions.” I paused. “I won't look at you with the eyes of a killer if that's what's on your mind.” I shrugged.

Ryan stared at me for a while before speaking. “The man was a rogue,I was interrogating him yesterday.”

“That was not why I came,I came to apologize to you for reacting that way. I shouldn't have shouted at you.” He came closer to me.

“I'm sorry.” He spoke softly.

His voice was something else and I wished I could use it as a lullaby.

“Um…you shouldn't be.” I tucked my hair at the back of my ear.

“So are you still mad at me?” He had this glint in his eyes.

How will I ever be mad at him?

“No, I'm not mad at you Ryan.” I smiled.

“Lisa made breakfast, you should come downstairs.” He turned to leave.

I watched his broad back as he was going,but he stopped walking and turned to look at me.

“Tasha.” He called.

“Hmm.” I looked at him.

“Thank you for not seeing me as a killer.” He smiled and left.

I jumped on my bed and groaned,Ryan had this charm and it's affecting me. I looked at the window as I watched the scenery sadly. I needed to leave this place the longer I stay the more difficult it will be for me.

“Can I come in?” I was in front of Connor's room.

I was glad that he was awake but he couldn't move around. When Lisa asked me to bring his breakfast to him I happily accepted.

“You can.” He waved for me to enter.

His room was all blue,I wondered if his favorite color was blue. There was no chair so I stood with the tray in my hand.

“You are obstructing the fresh air from coming in.” He hissed.

I smiled and sat on his bed. “Lisa asked me to bring this.”

He tried to sit but couldn't,so I pushed the tray away carefully and stood up to help him.

“Let me help.” I supported him so he could rest his back on the bed frame.

I could feel his eyes on me but I didn't let it intimidate me,I knew he didn't like me but that wouldn't stop me from being nice to him.

“Here.” I pushed the tray to him.

“Don't expect me to say thanks.” He took it from me.

“You are welcome.” I smirked.

He rolled his eyes and bit on his bread,I stared at his chest which was wrapped with bandages. I wondered how he survived.If it was me I would have been buried by now.

“Stop checking me out.” Connor sipped his tea loudly.

“How are you not dead?” I pointed to his chest.

“I'm a werewolf, my wolf helps me heal faster.” He said in a mocking tone.

“Wow.” I mouthed.

“My wolf is weak and that makes me less of a wolf? If that makes sense.”

“I know you are an Omega, found out in the hospital.” He rolled his eyes.

I smiled, being an Omega doesn't mean anything here, if it was in the Silver Claw Pack I wouldn't dare talk to a Beta not to talk of entering his room.

“Shit!” Connor spilled the hot tea on his chest.

I stood up from the bed and took the tray from him,I rushed to the cabinet, grabbed a tissue,ran back to his side and wiped it for him.

“WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!!” We heard a loud growl and I turned to see Ryan looking at Connor and I in anger.
