Chapter 17

Natasha's POV

“So you mean the guy never knew you were the Alpha's daughter?” I sputtered a laugh at Lisa's story.

She was talking about what happened when she was in highschool. A guy had asked her out and was bragging about how wealthy his family was until she invited him over and he met her father and Ryan.

“You need to see the look on his face when I introduced my father to him.” She bursted into laughter.

“He didn't wait,he took his bag and made a beeline out of the house.”

I bursted into laughter. I wasn't there but I could picture how the guy must have reacted.

“I missed him.” She said sadly.

“Your dad?” She nodded.

“He died when I was 16 and Ryan had to take over as the Alpha. It wasn't easy for him at that time, taking care of the pack, himself and I.”

No wonder Ryan acts mature and cultured.He must have gone through a lot. I wondered if he had met his mate.

“Ryan, does he have a mate?” I asked Lisa who was now stuffing meatballs into her mouth.

“Ryan’s love life is kinda complicated, he's never been in a serious relationship before.”

I felt relieved at the fact that he didn't have a mate yet.And I reprimanded myself for that thought.

“Why?” I took out the meatball in the bowl.

“Ryan is kind of strict, and because of the rumors.”

“What rumors?” I frowned.

“Did I say rumors?” She chuckled nervously. “I meant runs.”

I frowned at her words as it wasn't making sense but I let it go.

“So tell me which school you attended?”

“I never went to school.” I pursed my lips.

Teresa never gave me the chance to,she didn't love me and the pack members also. If I had gone to school it would have been worse because I would have been bullied or dead.

“I'm sorry.” Lisa held my hands. “How about you pursue a degree here!” Her eyes brightened.

“I.. don't have the money for that.” I scratched my hair shyly.

Education was expensive and I would need a lot of money to study comfortably.

“Nonsense.” She waved her hands. “Ryan will pay for it.”

“No!” I countered.

I already feel bad staying at his house eating and enjoying what I didn't get with my own money.

“My brother is wealthy, you should spend his money!”

I laughed at her words that will make me a freeloader,Lisa changed the TV channel to a love program when the living room door opened wide and Dante barged in carrying Connor on his back,his cloth was soaked with blood.

“What happened!” Lisa gasped and ran to meet him.

“Call Luke now!” Dante yelled as he went to the room.

Lisa took out her phone quickly and did as she was told,as if that was not enough Liam came in with Xavier also in the same situation.

“What the hell is going on!!!” Lisa cried.

“Rogues attack!” Liam said as he rushed in with Xavier.

My heart beated loud in my ears as I waited for Ryan to come in but he never did. I looked at Lisa who was already panicking.Dante emerged from the room and ran outside a few minutes later he came dragging Ryan with him.I ran to support him. Ryan was the hugest so it was difficult for Dante to carry him.

“Is…he…dead?” Lisa asked with a trembled voice and I stiffened.

“NO!!” Dante growled at her and I relaxed.

We took Ryan to his room, Dante laid him on the bed and I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that Ryan wasn't injured.

“Watch him!” Dante ordered before leaving the room.

I sighed sadly,I didn't like the atmosphere in the house.I pulled the chair and sat close to the bed, Luke entered not too long.

“Hi Tasha.” He came closer to the bed.

“Please check him.” I stood up and gave him space to do his work.

“Alpha is fine,he is just stressed out and should be awake in a couple of minutes.” Luke informed after checking Ryan's vital.

“What about Connor and Xavier?” I asked worriedly.

“Connor will be fine though he lost a lot of blood. Xavier is awake, he just needed some stitches. I have to go.”

“Thank you Luke.”

“It's my duty.” He said and left the room.

I was left alone with Ryan,I watched him sleep and I must say he was really handsome even Gabriel's beauty is nothing compared to Ryan's.I would love it if my child took his genes and not mine,Ryan was the perfect package. I don't want my child to be a wimp.

His room was big and spacious. It was my first time entering his room. I smiled at his orderliness and neatness.He was without flaws.

“How can a man be so handsome?” I played with his eyelashes.

Ryan stirred in his sleep and I stopped my silly actions, he opened his eyes and I stood up.

You are awake!” I yelled excitedly.

He groaned and sat up from the bed, I stared at him, Ryan held his head and I figured he must be having a headache.

Ryan stood up from the bed but I held his arm to stop him from leaving. “What do you think you are doing?”

“Connor and Xavier?” He asked.

“Luke is attending to them.” I sighed.

I don't know how he would feel if he heard Connor lost a lot of blood.

“Xavier just got some stitches, but Connor is in a bad condition.” I said sadly.

Ryan pushed on his feet,I blocked his movement but it infuriated him. He growled loudly and I shifted back in fear which resulted in me falling on his bed.Ryan didn't spare me a glance as he rushed outside,I stood up and followed him but came across Lisa.

“They are having a hard time.” Lisa bit her finger nervously.

“I can feel it through the pack bond, their agitation.” She supplied.

“Is there anything we can do?” I asked.

“The only thing I usually do.” She looked at me.

“What?” I was willing to help,I can't just sit down and watch.

“Staying away from them,I suggest we go to our room. They will all be fine with time.” My mouth went open at her words.

So the solution was to watch.

“Oh…okay.” I stuttered and turned towards my room.

The loud cry of pain woke me up from my sleep and I stood up from my bed immediately. My heart quickened as I heard the painful scream again,I got out of my room as I searched for where the noise was coming from.

It was the torturing room.

I turned to leave since Ryan had warned me not to go in there. I stopped as my curiosity got to me and opened the door and walked in, everywhere was dark and quiet.

Wasn't someone screaming a minute ago?

I searched for the light switch although.I was an Omega I still had some werewolf ability of keen hearing and heightened sense of sight. I switched on the light and gasped when my eyes met Ryan's and saw his body stained with blood.

And he was holding a person's head!
