Chapter 19

Ryan's POV

The entire night I couldn't sleep,I kept rolling from one side of the bed to another side of the bed. I couldn't forget the look in Tasha's eyes. She was scared of me and I felt guilty for that.I prayed for the morning to come faster than usual.

I didn't know why I was feeling guilty for the way I reacted to her. I've never felt bad about my decisions or how I treated people before.

But why was it different with Tasha?

The sun came out and I stood up from my bed, took my bath and went to Tasha's room.

My conscience was killing me.

I got to Tasha's room and hesitated to knock on her door. Her room was silent but I could perceive her scent. Which means she was still on the bed.I knocked the door twice, when I didn't get any response I turned to leave but the door flung open.

Tasha looked at me with her eyes half opened.Her hair was disheveled I felt bad for waking her up.

“Hi.” I smiled,I didn't know how to start

“Good morning.”

“Can I come in?” I asked.

She stepped away from the door so I could come in, she looked away from me shyly and I knew it was because this was the first time I've entered her room ever since she moved in.

Is something wrong?” She peered at me.

“Um…no.”

For goodness sake I was struggling with words.

“Ryan.” She sighed when she saw my hesitation to speak. “If it's about last night,I understand.”

Does she understand?

“Are…you sure?” I frowned.

She was getting it wrong,I wanted to explain but she spoke quickly.

I know you have to make tough decisions.” She paused. “I won't look at you with the eyes of a killer if that's what's on your mind.” She shrugged.

I stared at her for a while,I was glad she wasn't scared of me. “The man was a rogue,I was interrogating him yesterday.”

I wanted to tell her about the rogue situation but shrugged it off. I didn't want to scare her and to talk of her being pregnant.

“That was not why I came,I came to apologize to you for reacting that way. I shouldn't have shouted at you.” I walked closer.

“I'm sorry.” I said softly as I gaze into her eyes.

We stared at each other until she broke her gaze.

“Um…you shouldn't be.” She blushed and tucked her hair at the back of her ear.

“So are you still mad at me?”

“No, I'm not mad at you Ryan.” She smiled and I was glad we sorted things.

“Lisa made breakfast, you should come downstairs.” I left before I did something I wouldn't be proud of.

I went to check on Connor and to my surprise he was awake,Dante and Liam were in the room with him. They were joking about something when I entered.

“What's up?” Connor said in a low voice.

“How are you feeling?” I asked.

“Weak.” He spitted. “I don't know how those cunning creatures got to me.”

“Maybe because you got carried away checking the female rogue out.” Dante chuckled and Connor growled.

“He was checking a rogue out?” I arched my eyebrows.

“Yeah,he was looking at a female rogue before I ripped out her heart.” Dante sputtered a laugh.

I glared at Connor who only shook his head at me.

“She was hot man,she was hot.” That was what he said.

“I'll let that slide because we have another issue on hand.”

“The freaking bastard gave me a name.” I informed.

“So who is it?” Connor asked.

“Sadly it's not the name of a person.” I breathed. “But the name of a hotel.”

“What!” They said in unison.

“He said Apex Hotel room 8.”

“Are you sure that bastard wasn't lying to you?” Liam asked.

“For all I know, they are quite devious in nature, that's why they can't live in packs or have someone rule over them.” Connor supplied.

“Have any idea where the hotel is?” I asked Dante.

He's a playboy and I'm pretty sure he knows every nook and cranny of every hotel in the pack.

“What's that supposed to mean?” Dante frowned.

“Well you are the promiscuous one.” Liam chipped.

“For your information,no,I have no idea where this hotel is. I only frequent the popular and expensive ones.” He clucked his tongue.

I sighed,the rogue couldn't have lied about that name. The city is big. It would take days for us to search the entire pack and I needed to act fast before they trooped in again and this time they might wreak havoc.

“Why not ask Xavier, maybe his nerd stuff could help.” Connor shrugged.

Why didn't I think of that,I dashed out of the room and went to the operating room, Xavier was always there it was like the room was where he found solace.

And he didn't prove me wrong he was there staring at the screen. I cleared my throat and his eyes swiveled to me.

“Ryan.”

“I need to find a hotel,the name Is Apex. Dante doesn't think it exists.”

He nodded and turned to the screen as he pressed the keyboard frantically,I sat next to him and watched his every movement.even though I didn't understand a single thing he was doing.

“Found it!” He pointed to a red dot.

“How?” My eyebrows furrowed.

“G****e map.” He shrugged.

“Why didn't I think of that?” I facepalmed myself.

“Are you going there to-”

“Not exactly what you are thinking bro.” I put on an irritated expression. “It's the name the rogue gave me before he went to hell.” I stood up from the chair.

“So?” Xavier asked for my intention.

“Prepare the weapons,we have some heads to rip off.”

I went to Connor's room to inform them that I found the address when I saw Tasha's hands on Connor's bare chest and I lost it.

“WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!!” I thundered at the both of them.As my wolf begged to take over and shred Connor into pieces.
