Chapter 11

After their small talk Adanna, Daliah, Ekon and Ama left the room, each giving a valid excuse.

Ekon and Ama told the remaining two that they had to consult with the villagers. Daliah saying he had to pack and Adanna telling the same thing as she promised to do it for Alyssa as well.

Left alone, Alyssa looked at Zane who didn't spare her a glance.

He had tied his hair at his side as he sat on a reed mat resting his back on the wall. His long hair fell on his shoulder continuing to his front chest.

Looking at his pale face Alyssa cleared her throat and moved in front of him. She knelt on her knees waving a hand in front of his eyes which were at that time looking at his lap.

"How are you feeling?" She asked trying to start a conversation. She knew he wouldn't reply to her but she had to try.

She had searched for him from the fields back to the center of the village. And after all the long struggle she finally found him here at the village head's house.
