Orlando's POV I woke to the pale grey light filtering through the balcony doors, the sheets tangled around my legs. For a second I forgot where I was. Then the empty spaces on the other side of the room reminded me. No Aiden, no Macmillan and no Jordan. No familiar quiet breathing. Just a stranger’s neatly made bed and the hollow knowledge that everything had shifted. I dressed in silence and the room left before my roommate could come back. The corridor of the new wing was still half-asleep, polished floors reflecting the early light, and the distance to the main academic building stretched longer than it ever had before. The courtyard was already filling when I arrived. Students clustered in their usual groups, laughter sharp in the cool air. I spotted Lindsay near the steps of the science block, talking animatedly to a pair of girls. Her eyes found me the second I crossed the open space. She smiled, her smile was slow, satisfied and she lifted one hand in a small wave tha

Aiden's POV “I want you, not Lindsay, and she knows that. I am going to be with you, Aiden, and that’s final. I don’t want anybody else, just you,” Orlando said quietly.I looked away from him as the last set of students filed out of the lecture hall, leaving only the two of us in the sudden, echoing quiet. The urge I’d been fighting since I first walked into the lecture hall and pretended not to notice him surged back, stronger now. I wanted to run my fingers through his hair and pull him into a hug.Orlando looked like a mess. Dark circles shadowed his eyes, and his hair was messy in the wrong way, tangled, nothing like the usual majestic style that made my stomach flip.I swallowed hard, fighting the need to reach out and smooth it anyway.“Orlando, there’s nothing we can do here. I know this is unfair, but it’s unfair for all of us. I’m no longer sad that you hid the fact you have a fiancée. I’ve moved past that. However, I don’t want to be the reason you disobey your parents,”
