Seventy Nine

DEVAN

The clock ticked, and with every second I wondered how deep I had sunk. Change they say is inevitable, and somehow no matter how much I wanted to, it just didn't seem like I could get used to this one.

The morning was bleak, and silent. And it seemed like we were all recovering from our wounds. I pulled myself to the edge of the bed, and placed my feet on the ground.

A little coldness from the ground seeped into my feet. I was beginning to feel. That was a good start. I breathed deeply, with a little difficulty, and laid my back on the bed again.

The doctor had been right. It wasn't going to take a long while before I walked again. I couldn't barely wait for the day I finally did that.

"Devan," Robb called barging into my room.

"Learn how to knock, Robb." I yelled.

"I'm sorry. Do you want me to go out and come back in? Would that make you feel better?"

"Respect my privacy." I warned, but he scoffed at me.
