Ilang minuto akong parang tanga sa kinauupuan ko. Nilalaro ang pen, ngumingiti mag-isa, habang paminsan-minsan ay tinitingnan ‘yung coffee sa gilid ng table ko.

Hindi ako mapakali. Damn.

Twenty minutes later..

Bumukas ang pinto, mabilis akong umayos ng upo.

Katalina walked in, holding a plate in her hand. She walked up to my table and placed it in front of me…two sandwiches, from the looks of it: ham, egg, cheese, lettuce, with a bit of mayo. Then she picked up the coffee she bought earlier and set it beside the sandwiches.

“There,” sabi niya. “Now you can drink your coffee while eating your sandwich.”

Isang matamis na ngiti ang sumilay sa aking labi. I miss this.. the way she takes care of me.
