Chapter 8

Author: Sweet
The preparations for my Bonding ceremony with Bill progressed smoothly.

Everything was calm. Peaceful.

Just as we were about to complete the final steps of our Bonding Ceremony, David appeared.

He stood at the edge of the gathering, dressed in a brand-new suit, a bouquet of roses trembling in his hand.

There were dark circles under his eyes, his posture weary, his expression lost between desperation and disbelief.

Before I could say a word, his wolf collapsed to its knees.

"May," he choked out, his voice hoarse, cracking. "I'm sorry. I was wrong."

It had only been two months since I last saw him.

And yet, as I stood before him now, I felt nothing.

No hatred. No love.

Just… emptiness.

The alpha kneeling before me was a stranger.

Still, he stared up at me with a desperate hunger in his eyes, clinging to some last shred of hope.

"May, I know the truth now. I know it was you who saved me. Amy lied. She tricked me. But I've punished her—she'll never come near us again."

  • The Ninetieth Bonding Ceremony   Chapter 7

Amy's words pierced David like knives.Every syllable struck the part of him he feared most—the part he had desperately tried to deny. And the more he tried to suppress it, the more her voice echoed in his mind. She'll never forgive you.Fury surged through him.He didn't kill her.But he had her suspended over the rooftop edge, her wrists bound tightly, left hanging there for a full day and night, wind howling around her like the screams of the past. And yet—even after that, David felt no satisfaction.Nothing could erase the truth: he had lost her.His mate. The She-wolf who once looked at him like he was her entire world. The one who had whispered promises of forever under the moonlight. The one who had vowed to walk with him until the end of days. She was gone. And this time… he knew she wouldn't come back. But until he saw it with his own eyes, he refused to give up. If there was even a sliver of hope—just a spark—he would chase it.No matter the cost. While David tore the world a

The deeper the truth dug into the light, the darker David's gaze became. For every ounce of gratitude he had once felt toward Amy, there was now a tidal wave of hatred crashing down on him.His jaw clenched. "Show me the proof!" The guard bowed respectfully and handed over May's phone.David sat down, fingers trembling slightly as he scrolled through its contents. There it was—the full footage of that day. The moment when May, not Amy, had pulled his unconscious body from the rubble. Her face bloodied, her arms trembling from exhaustion... but she never let go. She had saved him, at the cost of her own safety.Video after video. Text after text.He read Amy's years of vile messages, filled with jealousy and cruelty. Every word she had spat at May behind his back. And only now, after all this time, did David finally see the truth: he had made the worst mistake of his life.He had mistaken a viper for his savior... and pushed the one who truly loved him into the abyss. All this time, M

  • The Ninetieth Bonding Ceremony   Chapter 5

Despite what David had said,he couldn't stop himself from thinking about me next morning. At the first break of light, he was already sending guards in every direction to find me.But as time dragged on with no sign , as if I had vanished from the face of the earth, the unease in his chest began to mount. He—an Alpha of the highest rank—couldn't even sense the faintest trace of his own mate. Not a scent, not a whisper of presence."Damn !" his wolf snarled, slamming his palm against a tree, then, clinging to a faint sliver of hope, jumped into his car and sped den—praying I would already be there. But the house was silent, empty. In the master bedroom, all my belongings were gone—replaced, quietly, by Amy's.He searched the entire den, desperate for any lingering piece of me.In the end, all he found was a single photograph. It was taken beneath the fireworks, the night we vowed ourselves to each other. I was smiling brightly at the lights; he, turned toward me, gaze filled with love. That

On the other side , David was frantically pacing his room, phone clutched tightly in his hand. After ordering Beta to remove every single photo and video of May from the internet, he began calling her—again and again. He wanted to explain. He wanted her to know the videos weren't posted by him.But her phone never connected. Not once. The image of May's lifeless eyes kept flashing in his mind. His wolf grew increasingly restless, letting out low, frustrated growls from deep within."May, pick up the phone," he muttered under his breath. "Just pick up once… If you do, I'll forget everything. I'll forgive everything."But all he heard was the mechanical voice.Unwilling to give up, he tried to send me messages."May, what are you trying to prove? I didn't post the videos. I've already had everything about you removed. What do you want?!"No matter how many messages he sent, there was nothing—no reply, no read receipts. As if his words had fallen into a bottomless void.Just then, Amy bur

When I came to, the sharp scent of disinfectant was the first thing I noticed.Pain flared across my wolf's body—her legs, her forehead, her chest. Every breath ached.David sat beside the hospital bed, eyes closed, seemingly asleep.Once, this man had been my everything—my fated mate, the Alpha I trusted with my heart and soul. Now, just seeing him made my skin crawl with fear.I tried to sit up, trembling. The movement startled David. He opened his eyes. For a split second, I saw relief flicker through them—then it vanished, replaced by cold indifference."Don't think being sick gets you off the hook," he said icily. "Once you're better, we'll settle what you did to my parents."I didn't have the energy to argue. I simply turned my head to the other side.He looked like he wanted to say more, but a guard entered and whispered something to him.David left without another word. The moment he disappeared, I staggered to my feet and leaned against the wall, forcing myself out of the room
