Chapter Five - Surprises for all

Chloe's POV

I stepped out of arrivals, My luggage in my hand and made my way out, looking for the person who was picking me up. I saw a tall man, well over six foot holding a card up with my name on it. He wore a white dress shirt and smart black trousers. He had dirty blonde hair and dark sunglasses covering his eyes. I smiled as I approached him.

"You must be Mr Johnson." I said with a smile.

"Dr Burbridge, please call me Ralf." The man smiled, his muscles flexed as he held out his hand for me to shake. Kari wasn't lying when she said the Nordic men were big, but there was a reason to that, he was after all a Werewolf. What had I led my girl into? Although I have no Mermaid, it didn't mean I couldn't pck out a supernatural a mile off.

"Then you must call me Chloe, how is my friend?"

"She is dealing with a lot at the moment." He said a frown on his face.

"I know what you are as I am sure you know what I kind of am." I said to him as we walked out to the car. He had taken my luggage from me. He held the door to the back of the car open and I got in. The drivers eyes shooting the mirror in surprise as he sniffed the air. Another Wolf. A moment later Ralf got in next to me and he noddeds to the man in front.

"Mermaid?" Ralf asked.

"Wolf." I responded. He looked at me with a smile. "Does she know?"

"No, My father irritates me enough without me telling a human that I am one." I sighed not wanting to discuss the prick that was my father. I felt something in my head, like there was a presence there, it was like the feeling of a butterfly moving. Strange.

"Who is your father?" He asked. I sighed.

"His name is Yurik." I told him.

"yurik Routlidge?" He frowned. "The King's Advisor."

"That's him." I said looking out the window and trying to calm my anger.

"I didn't know he had any children," Ralf said.

"Oh he likes to think he doesn't, I am an abomination to him, my mother, his true love, ot beloved, is a human. He comes and orders me around once a year and causes stress to my poor mother but other than that and the fact I never got my mermaid, I am nothing to him, and he likes to remind me of that everytime he see me."

"I am sorry to hear that Chloe, i'm surprised as the Merpeople tend to cherish their offspring."

"Not my father, I am just useless to him. He never understood how he could be paired with a human and made mine and my mothers life hell because of it." I sighed, wanting to move on from this conversation. "So does Kari know you are all wolves?"

"She does, we have found out both her mother and father were wolves." I looked at him shocked. 

"Which means..." I trailed off.

"Yes, her wolf has been in hibernation."

"Oh thank God." I said with a sigh He looked at me confused. "Not only does it explain a lot, but it also means I nolonger have to keep quiet about who I am."

We pulled up to a gate and the instantly opened the gates when they saw the car. We drove straight through and up to a massive house.

"Would you like to settle in first? or would you like to go and see Kari first?"

"Did all her stuff arrive?" I asked.

"Yes, we have people taking it to her apartments as we speak, although I don't think it will all stay here for long but I will let her explain all of that to you." I nodded and climbed out of the car. He came around and joined me.

"So where is my best friend?" He smiled and led me around the side of the mansion. As we walked around I picked up a very strong smell of Pecan Pie. I took in a deep breath and sighed as I heard a very loud

"MATE!"
