“Even the kid doesn’t like you, Kyle. So don’t wonder why you’re single---”

“Tsk!”

Lizzy and Kyle help Wilder fix the files while the kid is still there. Sometimes Lizzy plays.

“You’re such a pretty girl. I’m sure your parents are gorgeous! Look, you almost look like Wilder on the side view!”

“Huh? She looks like me on that side,” Kyle teased.

“Stop it, Kyle!”

“Look at it, Wilder!”

“Not Lizzy. But she looks like someone I knew.”

“Is she pretty?” the child said.

“Very.” He smiled, reminiscing about her face.

Wilder and Kyle had to leave for a meeting, so Mina watched Nona.

“Wilder! You didn’t answer my calls last night!” the woman said while leaving the office.

“I’m busy, Tiffany,” he answered.

“I’ll call you Tiff. Even though I’m busy, I’ll make time for you.” Kyle winked at her.

“Shut up, Kyle.” She rolled her eyes.

She stomped her feet like a child and walked away.

“Tiffany’s really into you, huh.”

“Don’t you like her? She is gorgeous! Why are you avoiding this kind of girl?”

“Tsk. Are you still waiting for her? The girl you mentioned before?”

“What happened to both of you? She’s super nice because you can’t forget her!”

“Did she leave you?”

“Probably, she left. Did you cheat on her, or is she not like that? You are wild?” said Lizzy.

“I would also leave if it is like that, Wilder. Because your name says it all! Wild! Pleasure now, sore later and bedridden sooner!”

He chuckled at her banter. “You guys don’t even know how wild I was back then.”

“Eh, How will we know if you don’t want to share it? You’re so secretive in your love life, so we are just wondering now! What happened?”

“Is that full of your sexcapades?” Kyle teased.

Before he could even utter a word, Mina interrupted him. His forehead creased when he noticed her catching her breath.

“Doc! The kid is missing!”

His eyes widened. “What? How?”

“I don’t know!”

“Let’s find her---” Kyle was cut off.

“Shit!” he cursed and ran somewhere to find the little girl.

“Oh damn, it. Someone came first before us!”

Wilder catches his breath. Hands-on his knees. They can’t find the kid. He doesn’t even know why he is nervous and worried when he finds out the kid is missing.

He glanced around. His forehead creased when he noticed a familiar figure strolling away from the lobby. He’s unsure if that can happen, but he’s been waiting for this moment. His heart is thudding wildly.

He froze where he stood. He didn’t know what he needed to do. Until she left the hospital, he could not move from where he stood.

“Wilder! Good thing we saw you!”

“The parents came, and they took her with them.”

“Hey, doc! Wilder! What has been to you?”

His eyes remained on where he left. He knew it was her.

She was the wildest nerd he ever knew in his damn life.

He took a deep breath and entered à lobby of the campus, his grip tighter on his bag. He glanced sideways before taking a left turn.

He didn’t know he would come to this point. He needed to hide to get that thing.

But he couldn’t blame himself because he needed it.

It’s like he’s wilted for the past few months. Last night he felt his blood rushing throughout his body, he felt alive, but it didn’t last long.

He’s hoping that this secret meet-up will solve his problem.

At the end corner of the hall, near the girl’s and boys’ bathrooms, the familiar man stood tapping his feet, waiting for him.

Wilder whistled, and that’s when the guy that passed his direction noticed him. He stepped back, and their eyes met—a cheeky smile formed on the guy’s lips.

“Do you have it?” Wilder asked, peaking on Carlton’s bag.

“Of course, bro.” He smirked.

“I didn’t know you were using this. I thought you have a strong and hard package---”

He cut him off. “Just give it to me before someone else sees us.”

Carlton glanced sideways before he opened his bag. Wilder did the same thing while no one was walking past them. Carlton is about to hand it to him when the girl’s bathroom door opens.

They both flinched. Eyes fixed on her.

The girl’s eye went to Carlton’s bag, where he hid it.

Wilder’s eyes narrowed as he caught her staring at his eyes, but it shifted to the other end of the hallway where the whistle came from.

Their eyes widened, Carlton immediately put the thing in Wilder’s bag, but it was too late. The head of the campus saw what they were. Her eyes squinted just like the police officers behind him.

‘What are the police doing on their campus?’ Wilder asked to himself

“What is happening here?” Mrs. Gano asked.

Carlton and Wilder look at each other.

“Mr. Santos?” Her eyes shifted to him.

“Mr. Calazar?”

Her eyes went down to Wilder’s bag. Her eyes squinted even more.

“What are you two doing here in the hallway? Should you be in the class?”

Both of them stayed silent. They bowed their heads.

“What’s inside your bag Mr. Calazar?”

“Nothing Ma’am.”

Her eyebrows shot up. “Are you sure?”

“What transaction are you guy’s hiding in here?”

Wilder keeps on cursing in his mind.

“I respect your mother so much because she owns this school. She’s the one who wants this campus clean away from drug users, Mr. Calazar.”

“What? No! I’m not a user. This is not---”

Her eyes went to the girl. “And who are you? Are you part of this transaction?”

She shook her head.

“It looks like she’s a witness, Ma’am. I think she saw the transaction,” the police said.

“Did you see what they did?”

The girl gulped. Of course, she did! But it’s not what they think it is!

“It looks like the girl is scared even to say a thing because this boy is the son of the owner of this school .”

“Mr. Calazar, just hand in the evidence---”

“The hell? I told you I’m not---”

“Language, Mr. Calazar.” She massaged her head.

“I’ve had enough of this. Search for the bag,” she said to the police.

Wilder’s eyes widened, his heart beating so fast like it was the end of him.

He shouldn’t have bought it. He knew that would get him in trouble!
