Chapter 1

My name was Thea Gilmore, and I was a lonely wife who felt restless and empty if a single day went by without relief.

After seven years of marriage, my husband, Hank Sawyer, was as limp and useless as a withered vine. He couldn't satisfy me at all.

My body felt like a parched, dry desert desperate for a torrential rain.

By the end of the year, he took me back to his remote hometown for the Christmas holidays.

I wasn't prepared for how filthy his mom, Paige Turner, was. The water she used to wash the dishes had a foul smell, and the food was starting to spoil.

I had barely taken a few bites before my stomach churned violently. The pain came in waves, and I dashed for the bathroom.

Toilets in the village were crude. There wasn't even a door, and anyone who walked by could see me taking a dump.

I rushed to the toilet in such a hurry that I forgot to grab the toilet paper, so I had no choice but to call my brother-in-law, Reid Sawyer, to bring some.

As a college student majoring in sports science, he was tan and rippled with muscles.

When he handed me the toilet paper, he stared so hard. That was when I realized that my lower body was completely exposed.

Having someone stare at my private part so intensely had me feeling a strange mix of thrill and embarrassment. My body vaguely stirred with a restless warmth and an itching need.

Even after I came out of the toilet, the cramps in my stomach wouldn't stop.

"Is there a hospital nearby?" I asked Hank. "I must've eaten something bad. My stomach is in terrible pain."

He shook his head and impatiently said, "We ate the same thing, and all of us are fine. Why are you the only one with a stomachache? There are no hospitals out here in the village, so stop making a fuss, will you?"

I was disappointed, but then Paige said, "There's an old traditional medicine doctor in the village. We always go to him when we're sick. He's better than doctors in the city.

"His name is Chad, and he lives at the west end of the village. When you get there, just say that I sent you."

I nodded. At this point, the traditional medicine practitioner, Chad Warlock, was my only option.

Soon, I found his place. He was in his late 40s but looked incredibly fit and sturdy, typical of a traditional medicine practitioner who took good care of himself. Still, I wondered how strong his stamina was.

I explained my situation and told him that the pain in my stomach was killing me. After listening, he nodded and gestured to the bed in the room.

"Simple. I just need to draw the toxic energy out of your core," he said. "Just lie on the bed. I'll give you a massage, and you'll be fine."

There was only one bed in the room, so this was clearly the bed he had slept in.

As I lay down, my heart raced with a little flutter of excitement.

This was the first time I had ever lain in another man's bed. But given the rustic conditions out here in the village, I didn't have much choice and had to make do.

Chad's consultation room might look modest and rustic, but he had a complete set of tools. He brewed a cup of herbal tea and told me to drink it.

"This herbal tea will help with your stomach pain. Drink it, and I'll start the massage."

After I drank it, a flush of heat began to spread through my body.

He opened a toolbox containing an array of massage tools. I took a glance and, to my surprise, spotted a toy inside!

Things looked a little off. He was clearly running a quite comprehensive range of services.

Next, he lifted my shirt, revealing my smooth stomach, and my body tensed.

There was something strangely thrilling about having a man lift my shirt. I found myself eagerly anticipating what he would do to me next.

Chad produced a bottle of essential oils and poured a few drops onto my skin. The cool drops slowly trickled down my hips.

Then, he placed both hands on my stomach and pressed down with a slow, gentle pressure. His rough palms were covered in calluses, and the touch on my stomach stirred a strange restlessness deep in my gut.

Soon, the oil was spread evenly across my abdomen. Its slick, gliding sensation was mixed with the steady warmth of Chad's palms.

Heat began to radiate from my stomach until my entire body was warm, and my lower body started itching restlessly.

Chad gripped my waist with both hands, his thick thumbs pressing in gentle yet firm circles around my navel.

I had to admit that he was truly skilled, and the pain in my stomach eased considerably.

But then, his hands slid beneath my shirt and started moving higher.

My heart jolted, and I panickedly asked, "C-Chad, where are your hands going? It's my stomach that hurts, not my chest."

Still, his hands didn't stop. He pushed my shirt all the way up until the soft curves on my chest were bare and exposed.

His eyes widened as he stared hard and complimented, "I had no idea you were so gifted."

I felt myself melting. Being stared at like this made my cheeks flush with embarrassment.

"Chad, what are you doing?"

Hank's face was pale with terror, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead as he asked, "What happened, Thea? Why did you kill Chad?"When his eyes fell on the bloodstained hoe in Reid's hands, he instinctively stepped back, and his voice trembled. "Reid… Have you lost your mind?"Paige was shaking from head to toe. "R-Reid… How could you kill him? This is a sin! You're still in college; what do we do if this gets out?"As she spoke, tears streamed down her face. Her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the ground, clutching at her chest.Reid tossed the hoe aside and defiantly snapped back, "I was just trying to protect Thea! Chad assaulted and pinned her to the ground. He was seconds away from ruining her."Hank and Paige looked at me. When they noticed my disheveled clothes and torn collar, they rushed over to ask what had happened.I couldn't stop crying as I told them everything about what Chad had done to me over the past few days. By the time I finished, Hank was shaking wit

But Chad got bolder by the day. He seemed convinced that I would never say anything, so his behavior grew increasingly brazen. The evening before, I found him crouched by a stack of firewood just outside our gates, swinging a half-empty bottle of cheap liquor. He flashed me a grin. "Hey, Thea. Come have a drink with me, alright?"I clenched the hem of my apron so hard my nails bit into my palms, just as I heard Paige calling from inside the house. "Thea, clear the ash from the hearth!"I forced out a response and turned around, catching a glimpse of Chad lifting the bottle to his lips.I ignored him and rushed into the kitchen to rake out the gray soot from the hearth. The dust billowed up, stinging my eyes and making me cough until I cried. I had never done such manual, filthy labor or touched a hearth, let alone cleaned one out. But now, I hoped I could rake as slowly as possible, desperate to drag it out and buy myself another second. But there wasn't much ash in the hear

I yanked my arm back and shot Chad a sharp glare. "Chad! What are you doing?"My voice cracked with a mix of terror and rage, but I kept it low. I didn't want to draw attention from anyone nearby.Chad simply withdrew his hand and took a slow, unhurried sip of tea. There was a teasing look in his eyes as he said, "Relax. I noticed that your circulation was blocked and tried to help you loosen up. What's wrong? Are you shy?"He grinned like a fox who had raided the hen house and even tried to slide his hand into my collar, but I slapped it away."Have some respect," I said, coldly staring him down. But he refused to back off and shamelessly said, "You were pretty eager the other day, weren't you? I know your body must be starving for it. Come by my place tonight, and I'll give you another treatment."His words hit me with a pang of shame. I hated my body for how it had betrayed me, and how easily any man could set it alight. When I lowered my head and said nothing, Chad finally t

A few days later, I ran into Chad again. When he noticed that we were alone, he had the audacity to reach out and slide his arm around my waist. "Lucky for me, you didn't expose me last time," he said, "Does that mean you want to pick up where we left off?"I know you've got strong needs, and I don't have a woman either. We're perfect together, like dry tinder just waiting for a spark."I shoved his hand away and disgustedly said, "Don't flatter yourself. I kept quiet only because you're respected here, and I don't want to get dragged into an ugly scandal with you."But I underestimated just how shameless Chad was. He even reached out and grabbed my chest. "Drop the act. I saw how wet you were that day, so you can't lie and tell me that you didn't want it."I was too furious to respond and turned to leave, but he started pushing his luck and stepped in front of me to block my path.I glared at him. "Are you gonna move or not? If you don't, I'll scream."Only then did he step a

As I watched Chad lift my legs and shift on the bed, searching for the right position, my heart began to race. After all, I had come to Chad for a simple stomach ache relief, but now, the treatment had veered sharply into something far more physical. My emotions were caught in a tangled knot of nerves and anticipation. It'd been so long since I'd felt what it truly meant to be a woman. Hank had been a withered vine for years and couldn't satisfy my needs at all, so I was desperate to know if Chad could quench my thirst.Soon, he found the right position and braced his hands on the mattress, lifting my legs high and arching my back."Relax," he murmured. "I'll clear those blockages, and soon, you'll learn what real pleasure feels like."I bit my lip hard and dared not make a single sound. Deep down, I was eagerly waiting for Chad to bring about the storm. In that heart-stopping second, Hank and Paige's voices drifted in from the yard. "Thea, are you in there?"When Chad heard the

Chad sensed my doubt and unhurriedly explained, "The herbal tea you just drank needs to be guided down into your core. That's the only way it'll work."With that, he placed one hand on my neck. His other palm gently glided downward until he was pressing against my chest, and something in my throat was pushed into my stomach. Perhaps it was the medicine kicking in, but a slow heat began to gather in my lower abdomen.Still, Chad's techniques felt far from professional. He cupped his hands over my bare chest and kneaded with a firm pressure.I couldn't help but moan. That felt unexpectedly good. A tingling numbness spread through my bones, and my blood began to simmer. No! I was here to treat my stomach pain, but why did it feel like I came for something else?Fortunately, I still had some layers on, so I wasn't completely exposed. But the next moment, Chad's hands slipped behind my back to fumble with the clasp. I couldn't hold back any longer and panickedly grabbed his hands,
