To be honest, a huge part of me wants to be a bitch and tell him he can’t take my son, but I guess I’m maturing and adulting for real because instead of that, I take a breath to calm myself down and decide to put our issues aside for later.

If there’s one thing I don’t want to affect my family, is political bullshit.

"Do you want me to turn Ashton into Ashley so you don't have to deal with people asking about him yet?" I murmur, completely dropping the other subject. Remington lifts his eyebrows as if he’s surprised. He thinks about for one second and then says no, "Are you sure?"

"Yes. My pack has to find out about his existence at some point anyway," he responds, shrugging, "So, can I take him out?"

"This is very hard for me, Rem, but I'm mature and willing to compromise," I start. Remington gives me another sad smile, "But I’m also trying to look out for MY pack, so… if you agree to let the rogue-omegas free, you can have that day with Ash."

I know I’m bringing back the subject I

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Save It

Ashton basically jumps out of my car as soon as we arrive to the park like he can’t wait another second. The park is in the middle of the biggest residential area and, therefore, always full of people. There's tall, full trees, open trails for people who like to run and a huge playground in the middle for the kids. My Council was not happy about how much money I dropped here, but I didn’t care. "Holy shit," Ash lets out when he sees the huge jungle gym I had installed there. I had my own future kid in mind when I did this, so having Ash look at it with excitement feels really nice. "You like it?" I ask when I reach his side, the boy nods with enthusiasm, almost vibrating. "Can we race there?" he asks, getting ready to start running. My first instinct is to say yes and run with him, but I look around. There's a lot of people here and they're already looking, recognizing me. I lift my hand to greet some of them. "Not right now, buddy. We'll race another time," I promise. Ash looks

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   In There

When I walk inside the room, I see Ash and Cassie sitting on the floor in front of the TV, playing video games. They don't even turn to look at me because they're so into it. "Hey," Cassie says, just to acknowledge me, but she doesn't stop pushing the buttons, "How was it? All good?" I sigh and take off my shoes to go straight for the bed. I face-plant there. "Yes and no. Cass, it's kind of a big deal, can you... stop that for a second?" I ask and then wait as they finish their little game. Ash comes to give me a quick hug and Cassie sits down next to me, “Go play with your toys, Ash. We’re going to have a boring adult conversation.” He nods and goes to the corner of the room where all his stuff is and I start to tell Cassie everything. How the rogues knew about me before the Winter Ball and how they started the preparations to get in the pack before I even considered returning here. About the weird pull I feel towards that big bearded rogue and how my wolf is pushing me t

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Same Team

{ Ivy } The drive back to the packhouse goes completely different than the drive here. There is no oral sex, for one. And Remington hasn't said anything at all, he hasn't even looked at me. He just started the car after going silent and drove off. And I can feel how deeply upset he is because I feel the same way. This is the first time I get what everyone means about 'tumultuous energy', I think our bond is creating that energy between us right now. It feels like something unstoppable and scary is coming our way and there's nothing we can do about it. “Rem?” I try a few minutes later, putting a hand on his thigh to get his attention. He gives me no response, just another bob of his Adam’s apple, “Are you just going to ignore me?” His silence is my answer. I guess he’s still the same man who completely avoids problems until they go away on their own or they blow up all over his damn face. He stays completely silent as he drives into the property, then parks his car next

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Not Like This

{ Remington } I knew I shouldn't allow this to happen. They're getting in her head, making her feel guilty and pushing her to agree to their fucking stupid shit. "We heard enough," I state, "Let's go, Ivy." "Think about what we said, that's all we ask for," The guy with the beard says, then he looks at me again, "Every single missing omega can be spoken for. We take good care of the girls, nobody has been harmed or hurt in any way. And, once again, they weren't kidnapped, you can tell that to the families and give them our number. They can call and ask to speak with their daughters... but if they the girls refuse to talk, that's their right." "Understood," I mutter, hating how they have given me absolutely no reason to keep them here. Personally, I'd love to, but they haven't done any damage to my pack, they haven't kidnapped any of my people, they didn't even attack my allies. Other than the invasion, they're good. And what I have to do is kick them of my pack, which is exac

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Purpose

"Alright, alright, there's no evil plan. She explained how you met her and how this started," I say, making him nod, "I want to hear it from your perspective now and I want you to tell me who you are and how did you know about me." River takes a deep breath and starts telling me a similar story to Ginny's. He says he was working at the brothel because that's the only type of job he can get as a rogue since they don't require any type of documentation. He says he grew fond of her and saw her as a little sister, so when she decided to join him, he had no other choice but to take her in. Everything checks out. "Now, your mom. How could she know my name?” I demand. River sighs and rests against the cell. "She was a prophet. She saw this, this movement. But, if you didn’t know, propeths make everything extremely complicated when they speak, since they can't give any specifics." "How come SHE knew my name though, this is crazy," I growl, starting to get restless and agitated, but Rem p
