When I walk inside the room, I see Ash and Cassie sitting on the floor in front of the TV, playing video games. They don't even turn to look at me because they're so into it.

"Hey," Cassie says, just to acknowledge me, but she doesn't stop pushing the buttons, "How was it? All good?"

I sigh and take off my shoes to go straight for the bed. I face-plant there.

"Yes and no. Cass, it's kind of a big deal, can you... stop that for a second?" I ask and then wait as they finish their little game. Ash comes to give me a quick hug and Cassie sits down next to me, “Go play with your toys, Ash. We’re going to have a boring adult conversation.”

He nods and goes to the corner of the room where all his stuff is and I start to tell Cassie everything. How the rogues knew about me before the Winter Ball and how they started the preparations to get in the pack before I even considered returning here.

About the weird pull I feel towards that big bearded rogue and how my wolf is pushing me t

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   1

    I don't really know what happened after that, I was too busy fighting my inner demons, my wolf, my fear and my strange need to run, especially when I looked into intense blue eyes and my wolf felt truly alive for the first time in her life. At some point and for whatever reason, I decided to actually run away from him, making him immediately start running after me. "Ah, help!" I yelled in horror, still running away from him, but I couldn't stop looking back. And the sight of him running after me made me feel alive again. So fucking alive. My heart started pumping harder than ever and my wolf manifested inside of me in a way I've never felt before. She wanted to shift and run more and jump and cry and laugh at the same time. And she wanted me to run TO the guy, but she also... she kept telling me to let him chase me some more. She was sure he'd enjoy the chase. So, I fucking ran away from that big man with the blue eyes, knowing damn well he was a predator and he would

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Short Story { Cassie and River }

    { Cassandra } I've loved my best friend, Ivy Doreen, since the day my mother brought her home and Ivy cried all night in bed with me, telling me about her stupid fated mate and how awfully he treated her. Since that moment, she completely changed my boring life and made me feel like I finally had someone other than myself. Even when she left the pack, she would call me almost every day and make me a part of her crazy, wild life. She has been my sister since I met her. And has been my only family since my mother died. She is still my only friend, my only family, my only... thing. Not to call her a 'thing', but she's legitimately all I have. Being around her awakens something in me that doesn't exist unless she's with me. A sense of 'anything could happen', which is completely opposite of my usual panic over absolutely everything. And the sense of 'nothing will ever happen to me' that chokes me when I'm alone. So, when the whole mess with the rogues started and then they p

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   THE END

    ***** Thank you for reading my book, I hope you enjoyed the wild ride ’ll continue with a very short story about Cassie and River, so stay tuned ***** { Remington } We get almost two full days of relaxation and peace, just holed up in our little apartment, being a happy family... but then I need to deal with real life again. Except this time, I bring Ivy and Ash with me. And it's not a fucking 'council meeting', is me and the people whose blood I share, sitting on a living room together. They're all already here and extremely pissed when we arrive, but they're smart enough to know not to mess with me or Ivy, so they have to swallow half of their hatred and play nice. As nice as I've ever seen them. Which means they say absolutely nothing to Ivy or about her. They simply stare at her as if she’s a witch or something. "Hi," Ashton breaks the tense silence, making my mouth twitch up. He's so cool. He doesn't flinch or makes himself small when everyone in

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Onto You

    "Tomorrow, we're going to have the conversation with my family," Rem says, lifting his face up to look at me, "Both of us, together. I won't ask you to act a certain way, you can be fully yourself." "Well, thank you," I snort, "Took you long enough to appreciate my lovely character." "There will be times where I'll ask you to tone it down... but I'll still be very appreciative of it, deep down,” he responds with a cheeky smile, his eyes focusing on my lips mouthing ‘fuck you’ until he gets completely distracted and moves close to kiss me. I think it was supposed to be a slow, quick one, but it turns into a slow, long one. He tastes delicious. And mine. I hum into his mouth and run my hands down his back, opening my legs to make some space for him… until Rem distracts me by poking my cheek with a sharp fingernail. "Ouch. Hey," I complain against his mouth and open my eyes. And that's when I realize it wasn't really Rem. It was my son and he's right beside us, looking at us

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Don’t Need More

    "What?! What happened?" Rem's neurotic ass demands, running to my side immediately, with the air buzzing hot around him. He's ready to fight for me, even as Nathan is clearly incapable of turning things around at this point. He has a few broken bones now, "Are you hurt, babe?" "No, Rem, I'm fine," I let him know as he takes off his shirt and forces it on me, covering my naked human body from a hundred eyes. I allow him to do than and I also take a moment to breathe. I'm not really tired, but this has been intense. A lot more than I expected. To be completely honest, it would be really fun to actually win this shit. The younger version of me would've totally gone through with it just to say I did it. But I’m different now, I don't need to do that. I just want to go home and rest, I’m officially old. "Where's River?" I ask. "Here. I'm here," my brother responds and rushes closer to us, ready for anything. "I don't want to win this challenge. I don't want to be the Alpha

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Right There With You

    Nathan scoffs like he can't believe this is happening, then he starts laughing maniacally and shaking his head. I think I know him enough to realize he’s going to say no. "What’s the problem, Nathan? Are you scared of a girl... of an omega?" I ask, ending his laughter real quick. There's a lot of people surrounding us, waiting for the action, but everyone is in complete silence. Everyone is waiting to see what he's going to say. "Of course I'm not," he responds, putting his hands on his hips. He looks very nervous, "This is probably not legal, though. Can an omega even throw a challenge?" "There are no rules against it," Remington responds, making Nathan take a deep, angry breath, "But even if there were, Ivy is not really an omega." "Really?" he crosses his arms. I think he's stalling, "Does she even have a wolf or am I supposed to fight against fire? That’s ridiculous and unacceptable. Very unfair.” I open my mouth, but— "She will not use fire, she promised," Remington r
