{ Remington }

Ivy created fire out of nowhere.

She stood there like a warrior and stopped over ten rogues with nothing but power. Magical power, to be exact. She created flames and made men kneel. Wolves to bow.

When that happened, I felt a tight grip of fear take ahold of my throat. I know Ivy isn't weak, but to witness the extent of her strength allowed me to see the truth.

She's not the skinny, weak little girl I met anymore. The insecure, lonely girl who clung onto my every word, who saw me as her savior and her protector, who allowed me to bring her into my world and keep her under my control... for a while.

Ivy doesn't need anything or anyone. Doesn't need me. Not to be her savior, her protector, her provider, her mate. Nothing.

Even without confirmation, I know what's going on, those rogues don't want to hurt her... they want her as some kind of important figure. Like a goddess.

They are here for her, to do whatever she says, to give their lives for her if she ask

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   The Offer

    During the first hour of this hell, all the Alphas talk about is the territory I'm occupying right now. Even though Remington reminds them he paid for a whole month AND the land has been completely forgotten for decades before me, the fuckers keep bringing up hypothetic moments where they might need it. They’re so damn greedy, it disgusts me. "If you ever need her territory, Alpha Ivy will evacuate with her people... and they'll all be welcome into my pack for as long as it’s necessary. That's it," Remington finally says, sounding very fed up. The guys want to keep arguing, but that kind of defeats their whole arguments, so we move on. Thank god. "Now... the fire situation," Alpha Ryan starts, looking at me, "The only way we could ever trust you is if we understand the exact extent of your power—your ability. I would want to conduct a few tests." "What tests? Like, govern—“ "Actually, if I may speak," River interrupts me, squeezing my shoulders from behind me again. Reming

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Alpha Ivy

    At one PM sharp, a black Ford pickup truck reaches my territory and I freak out. So bad, I start an unintentional fire in between the truck and us until the driver comes out and lifts his hands in surrender. "I'm here in peace!" he yells and I thankfully hear him over my pounding heart. I thought this was one of the Alliance Alphas coming to get us, crossing us before we even got the chance to cross them, "Alpha Remington sent me here." "Oh," I let out, relaxing. Everyone around me is still on edge, but I end the fire and look back, "It's fine, guys. Calm down." They're still not relaxing because they don't understand what's this guy doing here. I don't either, but now that I'm paying more attention without the panic, I realize there's a bunch of big boxes in the back of the truck. "I'm here to drive Miss Ivy Doreen to the Silvan pack for the Alpha meeting. And I have a few things to drop here," the driver says, opening the backdoor, "Can someone help?" I turn around and look a

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Sister Help

    "I just know..." I continue, with a grimace, "Even if I come up with the most perfect speech and even if I act accordingly, something will go wrong and they will blame it on me... because it will be most likely my fault. Like, the tumultuous energy thing, you know? It's real. And I wish I had the power to contain it.""Why? That's literally a superpower," Nara says, scoffing like she thinks I'm being stupid, "The ability to create turmoil in an otherwise settled environment is what you were created for. By the Moon Goddess herself. It’s literally one of the biggest things about your very important existence. Stop looking at it like it’s a problem when it’s not.”But it is, though. Because I'm going to go in there and tumult everyone immediately. They're going to fight me or each other and get into drama, it WILL be my fault... and then Rem is going to be pissed. He'll realize I'm never going to change that about me, that I'll never stop being ‘dangerous’ or ‘unsettling’ or ‘unreliabl

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Yet Again

    "Uh," I gulp, my back starting to sweat under those cobalt blue eyes. He's not looking away, he really wants that answer, "It just didn't work out between us back then..." "Why?" "Because of adult stuff," I murmur, definitely not knowing how to go there or how much Ivy would want me to share, "Once you're an adult, we can discuss it." "But I want to know now," he says, not wasting a single beat, "I'm as smart as an adult. Tell me… or I'll tell my mom you didn't give me a bath tonight. She won't like it." "Ash," I take a deep breath, knowing damn well he won’t back down, "Do you have a wife?" "What? Me?" he asks, moving back in shock. I try my hardest not to laugh, I just nod, "No, I'm just a kid. I don't even have a girlfriend. I don't even know any girls.” "Well, then you simply won't get it. The second you get a girlfriend, we can all sit down and talk about why your mom and I didn't get married back then," I shrug. He opens his mouth again, "Meanwhile, you can ask me if

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Bonding

    I just took a shower in the smallest bathroom known to mankind. The shower head hit my chin the whole time and my ass smashed against the tile wall when I tried to get my head under the cold ass water. It wasn't a nice experience, but I tried my hardest not to be a brat about it. Once I'm done and dressed with the few clothes I bought from home, I start a bath for Ash. When the bathtub is filled with very cold water, I crouch down and stick my hand in there. "Baby Flame, this is your father speaking. If you're listening to me... warm this water," I order, trying to create fire again. My body does nothing, "Great. You've been burning me for days and are nowhere to be found when I could actually use your help." Indeed, he's nowhere to be found. But I'm nothing if not persistent, so I stay there, trying and trying to create some heat. I know I can do it. I burned down a bed, I burned my brother-in-law, I can do this. I just need to figure out how. "Rem, what's taking you s

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Unlikely To Happen

    When I return to the living room, I find Cassie crying while Ash is sitting on the floor, right next to her, painting his own belly red like he doesn’t realize she’s there. "What's wrong?" I ask, immediately freaked out because the girl was completely fine five minutes ago. And she's not just sniffing with little tears running down her face silently... she's actually sobbing, her small body shaking and her fat tears have started to wipe away the kid-safe paint. I sit down in front of her and go into damage control mode, "Hey… did Ash hurt you? Did paint get in your eyes? Let's go wash it off now. Come on, come here." She’s not moving. And all I can think about is… if Ivy finds out her best friend is sobbing like this, she’ll take it out on me. "I didn't hurt her," Ashton scoffs as I'm trying to get Cassie up, looking at me with reproach, "That's her sad-cry. Why are you sad about this time, Auntie?" "Loneliness," she manages to say, taking a big breath to start explaining, "I feel
