Chapter 67: Tamsin's POV

“Did you have a good show?”

Vince's voice slides out low and casual, like he’s asking about the weather instead of referring to last night’s nightmare playing in my head on a loop.

I lean against the doorframe of his stupidly neat study, arms folded, eyes bored. “If you mean the part where Lior moaned your name like a desperate bitch in heat—sure. A solid performance. I see why you keep him around.”

After I pulled that stunt in breakfast, he sent for me two hours later. Why? I'm about to find out. To be fair, I also needed a word with him.

After all, he was the one I was searching for last night that led me to stumble on that interesting sight.

His eyes narrow slightly, but a smirk tugs at the corner of his mouth. “Ah, but the real question, Tamsin, is—did you enjoy it?”

I snort. “He looks better doing the fucking than being fucked. Just my opinion, though.”

“Hmm. I’ll keep that in mind next time I bend him over.” He says it like he’s commenting on dinner plans. “Maybe we’ll put on a

I wake up to an empty bed. For a second, I think maybe Dante just slipped into the bathroom or the kitchen for coffee, but the sheets beside me are cold. Tidy. Like he never slept here at all. But there’s a bouquet of white roses on the bedside table. Elegant, tight-budded. Their scent is soft, not too loud. Just... present. "You’ve got a new admirer," Kira teases from the back of my mind. "Should I start picking out wedding colors?" I roll my eyes and sit up slowly, pushing the comforter off my legs. The room is silent, and I feel like a ghost inside it. “He’s sweet,” I murmur, reaching out to touch the petal of one rose. “But he’s not…” "Not him." Kira finishes for me, and I hate how right she sounds. "You know he’s not the one, Tamsin." I don't answer. Not because I disagree, but because I don't have the energy to lie to myself this early in the morning. "So, what now?" she asks, her voice quieter now. More grounded. "Are we running? Hiding? Crying in a tub with a bottle o

The plane hums beneath me like a tired lullaby. Private jets aren't supposed to feel lonely, but this one does. It's quiet. Too quiet. The kind that makes your thoughts louder than they need to be.Kira hasn't said a word all flight. Not even a sigh. Just a coiled silence in the back of my mind, like she’s waiting for something to snap.I stare out the window, watching clouds peel away from the sky like tissue paper. The farther we get from Italy, the easier it is to breathe… but not by much. My chest still feels stuffed with invisible cotton. My bones feel… tired. Like they’ve held too much for too long. The landing is smooth. Almost annoyingly so. No drama. No turbulence. Just the dull thud of tires kissing the ground.Dante’s already waiting near the car when I step off the plane. Leaning against the glossy black SUV like he owns it—casual and warm and way too excited to see me.“Tamsin!” he grins wide, arms open like he’s about to hug me and then doesn’t. “You are back, finally!

Lior doesn't know that I saw him getting fucked a few nights ago. He must have noticed I've changed a little.I care less about his affection for me...I never ask him to touch me...my nipples never bud when he's near me...my undies never get soaked when he runs his fingers around their lines. But why?He doesn't even have the slightest clue. It's hard, I'm not going to lie to myself that it's not. I fell in love with him. I changed who I was, cut my hair because he liked it that way, bleached it blonde, because that's what he wanted to see.All the dresses in my closet shows more of my skin that the actual fabric of the clothes. I don't eat as much cake as I would like...all because I wanted to be the one person he looked at and smiled.Well, I got a car out of it...and I also forgot what it meant to be an omega.I'd give that to him.But still...I lost myself. I let him lie to me for five...no, not five. Seven months.Kira found out five months ago and tried to spare me from wasting

I walk the halls like I’m in a dream I don’t want to be awake for. Feet soft against the tiles, mind full of static. The house is quiet again, like nothing just broke wide open behind the west wing outdoor office. But I’m not the same girl who walked into that wing hoping for answers.I saw everything. And I heard enough.Kira is already on her feet in my mind before I reach my room."Told you."Her voice is sharp, dry. Not cruel, but definitely smug."Told you not to trust the pretty one. But nooo, you wanted to play house with a snake."“Don’t,” I mumble as I get into my room. I shut the door behind me harder than I mean to. “Not now, Kira.”"You let him touch you," she snaps. "Let him crawl into your head, your skin, your fucking soul. You ignored every instinct I sent you because he knew how to make you feel wanted for five goddamn seconds."I freeze in the center of the room. Her words slap hard—hard enough to crack something loose.“I wasn’t swayed by the money,” I whisper, most

Since Kira spoke to me yesterday, she went quiet again. I tried to get her to talk again, but nothing. However, the kind of quiet she is isn't the type that she kept for five months. It's judgment. She stirs, like she's about to say something, and something in me tells me that her words are going to bite and I should brace myself.I mean, we were at odds and it turns out she was right. She's definitely going to rub it in my face.“I told you,” she mutters finally, her voice curling through my head like smoke. “I told you, and you didn’t fucking listen.”I hug the silk robe tighter around me as I move through the corridor, bare feet skimming over cool marble. The mansion is draped in shadows, humming faintly with crickets and I bugs that I've never seen before.I know this path now. Know where he sleeps. Where he lingers. I’m not just walking anymore — I’m searching. Not for Lior, for Vince. I'm tired of living on assumptions. My heart is breaking here, so if it wants to break complet
