If I had to describe my life as an Omega in one word, I'd say it's "hell." Why? Because all of the orders that were given to me by the beta family that I serve must be carried out, all of the sufferings that were inflicted upon my physical body must be tolerated, and all of the sexual and emotional abuse that was inflicted upon me must be disregarded.
The higher ranks consider those of us in Omega to be nothing more than enslaved people. We may be at the bottom of the totem pole, but when it comes to life and feelings, we are all the same. They consume mouthwatering meals, but their feces also stink like ours.
I am aware that in the world in which we live, there is no equality. Those werewolves who hold high ranks will continue to have those ranks, while those of us who were Omegas or lower rank will keep their status until the day they die. The world was filled with inequity, but this was the reality.
I have been very exhausted. I want to be able to do what I want to do in life, I want freedom, and I want to escape this kind of life, so I thought about applying to be the child-bearer of Alpha Gregory, the Alpha of Blue River Pack. I want to get out of the state of life I now have as an enslaved person.
The only way for me to escape the beta family in which I work as a maid and to lift my rank is to become an Alpha child-bearer. If my application is chosen, I will be picked up by someone or some warriors. Because Alpha Gregory established this rule, the beta family that I work for is powerless to take any further action if I am the one who was chosen.
If Alpha Gregory chose me to be his child-bearer, I would do anything in my power to ensure that he has a healthy and happy child. I will not squander the chance to finally live the life of freedom and the sweet taste of a high rank that I have always dreamed of.
According to the report that I heard, Alpha Gregory has been looking for she-wolves capable of bearing his child for the past twenty-five years. Since the death of Luna, he has been looking for she-wolves in the hopes of having another child who can take her place as Alpha, but he has not been successful in his search. Because of this, he passed a rule five years ago stating that whoever among the she-wolves could give him a child would become the Luna of the Pack. Furthermore, according to what I heard in the contract, if the she-wolves were unable to provide him with a child, they would be sent to the Tantanum, an isolated island inhabited by wild animals, where they would be forced to live with the other she-wolves who had also attempted to give birth to Alpha Gregory's heir.
When that law was created, many she-wolves tried to break free from the families that they served, particularly the Omegas; however, to this day, no one has been successful in doing so.
There is no assurance as to what I have done. It was possible that Alpha Gregory would pick me up, and we would try to produce a kid together; if we were successful, I would become the Luna of the pack, but if we were not, I would be exiled to Tantanum. Yes, I considered participating in gambling because if I am banished to Tantanum, it will not matter to the family I serve. After all, I believe that it is the same.
When I first started working for this family, I was just fifteen years old, and I have now been serving them for a total of three years. They got me to an orphanage, where I remained for the fifteen years of my life. My place of origin, the Orphanage, claimed that my parents perished due to an attack by rogue werewolves in this Pack many years ago. Because I had no control over my future, I decided to accept it.
I don't know if I'm lucky that I survived the invasion of rogue werewolves or unlucky that if I had not died then, I wouldn't have experienced what I'm experiencing now.
In the past, I had thoughts of ending my own life. I believed that my life was pointless, so why should I continue to live? However, I was not successful. When the Beta family found out I had attempted suicide, they were devastated and did all in their power to ensure that something like that would never happen again. When we went back to our room to rest, two guards rotated in every room of the maids to shackle both our wrists and our feet, and they will uncuff us at four in the morning. If we were successful in our mission to end our life, this family would be held legally responsible for our actions; hence additional security measures have been taken to ensure that we do not accept our own lives.
"Natacia, Senior, and Seniora are looking at you," one of my fellow maids informed me.
I gave her a friendly smile before setting foot in the direction of the office by Senior and Seniora. What would they say to me? What would be their order?
I took a few deep breaths before walking inside the office. I knocked on the door three times before I heard Senior's voice, at which point I opened the door and went inside. As soon as I walked in, I was met by Senior and Seniora, both of whom were staring at me very intently. Because I'm used to seeing them look at me like that, I just ignore them and walk toward them. As I got closer to them, I noticed two Blue River Pack warriors lounging on the sofa off to the side.
As I got closer to Senior and Seniora, I turned my attention to the two warriors.
"What do you think, Natacia? Do you believe Alpha Gregory will pick you?" I was taken aback by Seniora's question.
Because of what she said, I looked down at my feet. I really wanted to tell her that there was no problem with trying and that she didn't care what I wanted to do, but I decided to keep silent was the best course of action.
I was in that position when I heard a man's voice that said, "We'll pick you up." I turned around and saw the two warriors standing there looking at me.
He informed me that "Alpha Gregory approved your application."
What I heard caused my entire body to tense up, and I opened my eyes wider. Am I dreaming right now?
"You are going to the clinic. You need to get checked out by a doctor right away. If you are successful, you will be considered as the child-bearer for the Alpha!" he continued.
I gulped, "Are you sure about that?" I asked them, my voice stammered while looking at them.
"Yes, your application was chosen by the Alpha himself!" he clarified.
