Masuk“Mummy… daddy please!” The silence which had engulfed my every thought was soon broken by the same little girl's voice, her tone so shaky and full of fear as she stood lost in the middle of a large and crowded wood.
“I wanna go home! Ethan!” She cried even louder but saying a name I had never heard before this point, it was as though my mind was slowly unlocking more of the memories I had blocked out through the years, who was this Ethan? Her cries swirled around my head faster and faster, getting louder and louder, it was as though I was suffocating in the sound. Taking the biggest breath of air into my lungs, my eyes snap open sending my body in the sitting position, sweat seeming to drip from my forehead as my breathing quickened as though I had run miles in my sleep. Even though that was one of the shortest flashbacks I’d ever had, it was a new one… who could Ethan be… was he a relative of mine that I somehow remembered after all of these years later. Why was I only now just remembering his name? The more my brain woke up from sleep and the flashback faded into the black along with the others, my eyes started to actually see the surroundings I had found myself in and what I now sat on top of. Instant shock and panic were all I felt as I leaped out of the comfiest bed I had ever sat on and looked around the room, even the clothes which now sat on my body weren’t mine! The room was absolutely the largest place I had ever seen, the walls a pristine white colour with gold detailing around the edges, what seemed to be a Queen-sized bed I had found myself in stood off to the side. Behind me were larger windows and doors seeming to lead out into a balcony, the beautiful land and outside not remotely familiar to me. “Where am I?” I asked out loud looking around the odd room I had found myself in, just from the outside, it looked as though these people had a lot of money. “Mate took us here after you passed out!” My wolf exclaimed in my head overjoyed, but her voice a little louder than I would have liked at this hour of the morning allowing me to whine. But the moment she spoke about our mate, memories of yesterday seemed to flash in my mind so violently, I was close to getting a headache. Henry laying unconscious on the floor, me and those border guards fighting, throwing myself through a window and those eyes, the bluest eyes I’d ever seen as my mate knelt down in front of me while the rain pelted us from the sky. My heart pounded in my chest even now thinking about my mate and his bright eyes, I don’t believe I had fully grasped the fact that I’d found him, someone I thought I would never get the chance. But the moment my mate came to my mind, the image of Henry played out again breaking my heart, could he still be in that same place hurt? “We need to leave; I have to find Henry and make sure he’s okay!” I say to my wolf now staring around the room for my exit, even though I didn’t actually know where I was, I’d figure it out. “As I told you yesterday, no one else matters anymore now we have found out mate! He is the only person we are to think about!” My wolf growled so fiercely in my mind at my comment, but shaking my head and running towards the glass does which led out into the balcony, I grab the gold handle and begin to try and pull it open. But no matter how hard I pulled on those gold handles, the doors wouldn’t budge in the slightest, but now I was much closer to the glass doors, I saw something which made my heart sink. Bars seemed to be placed on the outside of the doors, the metal so thick that it prevented the doors from opening even the smallest fraction, even if I were to smash the glass, the gaps between the bars would prevent my body from slipping through. “After your antics yesterday, I thought the only way to ensure you are safe and do not attempt to flee again was to place bars on the windows.” The deep voice which seems to always allow a shiver of pleasure through my spine sounds from behind me, turning my head around in an instant, I find my mate, stood in front of the closed doubles doors of the room, a smirk on his face and his hands in his pockets. Instantly, I couldn’t stop the shock that rippled through me having him now in a room with me, backing away from the doors and further into the corner getting away from him, my eyes instantly lock on my mate as he watched me. My entire body shaking while he, stood with such great posture and that same power radiating from him. “Once I have determined that I can trust you enough not to flee, the bars will be removed.” He spoke once again when I didn’t go to open my mouth, my body now fully resting in the corner of the room, somehow my mind still not understanding who this man was and how he could be my mate! “W-why am I here?” Was the first question to spill from my lips, my voice cracking at the end due to how dry my throat was, which this man in front of me seemed to sense. “I will have a butler bring you a fresh glass of water to help soothe your throat.” My mate said seeming to take a dangerous step closer to me and away from the door, in seconds, said double doors open and in walked a man in a posh outfit. Walking into the centre of the room right in the middle of myself and my mate, this man places down a little gold table, and with another fancy seeming glass and a jug filled with delicious looking water, he tips a serving into the glass and places both the glass and the jug to rest on the table. Sending a bow of respect towards my mate, the man exits the room once again closing the door behind him. Even though my mate was correct and all my body wanted was the water, I refused to move even an inch from my place in the corner of the room and locked eyes with him, which he knew in a moment. “Do you need my assistance to drink the water?” My mate asks with a hint of a smirk on his lips as he took another deadly step in my direction, leading me to push my body so far into the corner as though I could slip through the wall, but of course I couldn’t. “How about we have mate help us with another more intimate task?” My wolf purred so loud in my head watching our mate walk towards me, her comment making me have to force a red tint to not flush my cheeks in that second once I realised what she meant. “Why am I here?” My sore voice repeated my previous question that he’d completely ignored, where a chuckle left his lips as he watched me stand with my back against the wall. “It is simple really, you are my mate, I live here and now due to the fact I own you… this is where you will live.” He explained as though the answer was so simple that there was no reason for me to even ask it, where my eyes went so wide I was worried they’d fall right out of their sockets once he said he owned me. “With this in mind, I believe it is only right for me to formally, introduce myself. I am Alpha King Leonardo Walsh, but you my dearest mate, shall call me Leo. This is my palace where you will begin to reside at from this moment on, how may I address you?” My mate formally spoke telling me his name, but it was his title that caused such a wave of shock through me, even though that border guard had told me the Alpha King was visiting the Alpha, I didn’t expect him to be my mate?! “You’re the Alpha King?” Was my next question not answering his at all, where he simply nodded his head with a smile placing his hands behind his back watching me. “Why aren’t you rejecting me?” The biggest question in my brain spilled from my lips, my wolf seeming to not like this question as she growled in my head and from the scowl that formed in my mate's face, he also didn’t appreciate that. “Why would I do such a thing?” He asked much darker with his eyes turning a shade blacker, those same footsteps of his which he had paused for a moment only continuing as he drew closer to me. “Because I’m nothing but a filthy rogue, I’m not what you need as a mate with your title.” I said having to truly explain what I meant which I thought he would understand. But when a deep growl rumpled through his chest and faster than he did last night with the border guards, he strides towards me but instead of hitting me, both hands smack off the wall either side of my head as he looked so deep into my eyes. I may have asked the wrong question.~Four months later~ “Can you help me to move that box of supplies over there please?” I asked a large guard stood close to the perimeter, who quickly bowed his head in respect walking closer to me. “Of course, your majesty.” He smiled picking up the quite heavy box with ease, I would have probably fallen to the floor if I tried picking that up alone. Thanking him as he went, I look around the area at the edge of no mans land with a smile, a location thanks to Leo and his powers as Alpha King, will now forever be known as Buddy’s corner. It was the first ever plot of no man’s land to ever get claimed by the palace, a fact some officials didn’t like at first and spat that I was making ludicrous decisions. But after Leo showed them his more aggressive side, all agreed and allowed the paperwork through giving me jurisdiction to do as I pleased… as I promised Buddy that last day. After Simon’s death outside of no man’s land, I begged Buddy to return to the palace with me and get whatev
The way Henry stood shaking in his place transported me back to the day that had haunted my thoughts since, his eyes even more pitch black than when our wolves take over and now, because I knew of conditioning and who pulled the strings, I wasn’t too surprised to watch Buddy, slowly make his own way out of the trees and stand watching his son lay on the ground barely able to lift his head up. “State your business!” One of the many guards who now stood around us asks Buddy, who didn’t even flinch in the slightest, I thought his courage was due to him being a rouge for so many years but… he was an Alpha before. “I am here to deal with my son, something I should have done years ago.” Buddy commented in a dark manner as though any other emotion was stripped from his mind in that second, he knew what had to be done. “Son?” My mother asked looking around the area a little confused, her hands still holding tightly onto my father’s shoulder who stood in front of her, his stance as like my
Simon continued to drag me as though I was some kind of rag doll through the trees and other debris of no mans land, a cold look of anger and determination on his face while he refused to look at me. Even though I wasn’t too sure what was in the needle I used, I knew it wouldn’t be long until he began to feel the real effects of it. As the woods around us seemed to thin out, the beautiful turrets of the palace I call home peeked through the trees, the place where I have come to feel the safest, not only due to the large team of guards stationed at every turn but because my mate was there. The man who took me away from the horrors which I lived in for so many years, the man who showed me the unconditional, deep, true love I had been searching for my entire life. I knew the moment I was within Leo’s gaze; I was safe. The closer we drew to the palace, the more that beautiful magnetic pull I always feel whenever Leo and I are close began to pulse, even though my wolf was still M.I.A, my
I had always thought the darkness of no man’s land was the worst feeling you would encounter, the hatred people felt for us, the death or pain that many people within this land face and just the darkness due to the high trees, it all lingered in the air and plunged each area and person alike into thick feelings of sorrow and despair. But even the darkest and most haunting area of no man’s land, did not amount to the darkness and horror which seemed to radiate from the man stood in front of me. His entire aura seemed to be drenched in a cloak of darkness, so deep within his soul that not a single ounce of light seemed to leave him, he was nothing but evil. “What are you planning Timothy?” Buddy asks rising to his feet watching the man I now know was his son, who deeply chuckled with his eyes not leaving me, it was clear he was enjoying this. “Why give away the ending father, would that not spoil the surprise.” Simon laughed walking across the woods as though he was the conductor to
All I could do was stare at Buddy in utter shock, I didn’t know what to expect when I asked if he worked with Simon, but it certainly was not him explaining he was not only Simon’s father but, my great grandfather. While I sat in my spot beyond shocked, Buddy rummaged around his supplies as he always did and picked out some powders and things. Taking a glass of water and dumping those powders inside, he pushes the glass closer to me checking the bleeding of my nose had stopped. “You’re my great grandfather?” I asked still in utter shock and confusion as the glass is now brought to my lips, the moment I swallowed the contents, it did immediately start to help the soreness of my throat. “B-but Simon was the Alpha to his pack before my father invaded to save my mother, that would mean you would have been the Alpha before him… how did you end up here as a rogue.” Was my next question having linked it all together and realised why Buddy seemed to know everything he did, he was once an A
An intense high pitched almost suffocating ringing formed in my ears; such a sound forced my eyes to open wide and my mouth to inhale the biggest breath of air I believed I’d ever had, the ringing somewhat subsiding as my mind woke up from whatever forced me to sleep. Getting to grips with my body a little more, I discover I was laying on some kind of cloth on a woodland ground, utter confusion riddled through me as I slowly, as though my head weighed a ton, looked around the area in hopes of understanding where I’d landed myself. The moment my eyes rested upon the familiar trees and cabinets which were hidden in plan sight, Buddy standing over the extremely old and worn-out bed he treats his patients on and the familiar sounds of the place I lived for so many years replaced the ringing. Immediately, my eyes go wide, and I pull myself up to a sitting position staring around even more lost. As I did this though, I soon realised another confusing but terrifying truth, solid chains wra
In a matter of an hour, I was led back through the many winding but beautiful halls of the palace towards the biggest and grandest ballroom of them all. Such a hall Leo had shown me on the tour and it was by far the most beautiful room I had ever seen, such a room Leo explained was only for the mos
My breathing came out in faster gasps than usual but not close to the sheer panic I feel after each flashback of the woods, this time around though, it wasn’t absolute fear which riddled my body, but confusion and for some reason, a hint of sadness. Due to the uncertainty, I slipped off into my h
If I thought the look of Leo’s bathroom was elegant and incredible, it didn’t amount to the beauty of his shower that I was able to stand under and wash each feeling of uncertainty down the drain. Back with Henry in our rogue home, we had a bath but with no running water, we’d have to take a trip
The hall fell silent as we both looked down at the item I had accidentally, found behind the old portrait, Leo’s eyes still holding immerse shock. Draped over my small hand stood the thickest necklace I had ever seen, the gold metal heavy in a sense weighing down my hand. While the large locket, whi
