LOGINMy hands shook as they rested on Henry’s chest, my eyes not moving from the two giant men stood right in front of me, sick pleasure on their faces as they could sense the fear in my chest and were somewhat enjoying it all.
“The smell is stronger than before, either you follow it or I’ll shift and do it for you!” My wolf demanded in my mind seeming to get even more agitated that I’d not done exactly what she said and rushed towards the smell, a smell I couldn’t even sense myself! “I think handling these two men who seem to want to rip us apart is a little more important.” I reply snapping at her slightly that she’d really think about whatever this odd smell was when our lives could very well be in danger! But once I snapped back out of my little disagreement with my wolf, I discover those two men had prowled even closer to Henry and me, their expressions still rippled with sick enjoyment and for one of them, thirst in a sense. “I-I’m sorry if we have accidentally, trespassed onto your territory, I will take my brother and leave.” My shaky voice whimpered out feeling as though I was as small as a mouse under these men’s shadows, but when I went to get up and begin to pull Henry, one of the men tutted at me and shoved me down so I landed on my back staring up at the pair. “Unfortunately, for you and your brother, that is not how things are done in this part of the woods. By order of our Alpha, we are to kill and dispose of any trespassers onto his land, if we simply allowed you to leave, we would not be following orders.” The one who had kicked me back down on the floor sniggers at me, it was clear these men were getting off at the fact that they held the power in this moment. “But perhaps we could come up with a little agreement… take your clothes off.” The second man who had stayed silent this entire time and loomed in the back watching me said, his smirk seemed deadlier than his friend’s, who turned to look at him with confusion. “W-what?” I asked crawling backwards a little away from the men but ensuring to keep my eyes on Henry, who still hadn’t moved a single inch since I arrived, if my mind wasn’t on these two men, I would slowly begin to fear the worst. “I am a man of integrity, but I also cannot help but feel sorry for you so, I’m willing to sacrifice my job to save your life but I believe I deserve something in return. Allow me to have my way with you and I’ll allow you and your brother to live… now as I said, take…your…clothes…off.” The man repeated in an even darker voice, his steps deadly as he walked towards me but now, I knew what he wanted, instant panic washes through me and I start to crawl even further away from him. “You want to fuck a rogue, that’s fucking disgusting, we need to follow orders and deal with her.” His friend protested pushing the guy back a little in a disgusted way, even though I was very much offended by his comment, their disagreement gave me my opportunity to look around in hopes of seeing anything that could aid me in my escape. “A fuck is a fuck! Might as well not allow her to go to waste before we kill her!” I heard the man shout in response as my eyes rested upon a large and quite sharp log sat right beside Henry, this could be my only way out of this situation alive. Allowing the men to argue back and forth at what they believe should be done, I lean over ever so slightly closer to Henry and the log. Managing to grasp the piece of wood in my hand and conceal it behind my back, I watch the two men and wait for my perfect window to strike. “I’m doing it! Keep watch!” The angriest one shouts pushing at his friend who protested his disgusting idea before turning back to me, that same evil smirk on his face but desire in his eyes as he leant down and pulled me by my leg closer to him. “Let’s see what your made of, shall we?” He asked with the darkest look in his eyes as he knelt down and attempted to grasp the edge of Henry’s hoodie which concealed my body and pull it up. But the moment this man went to touch me, I pull the extremely sharp log from behind my back and with all my strength, I send it plunging into his chest as he hovered over me. His body seemed to freeze as he looked down at the log now hanging from his chest than back at me, grasping the log once again, I watched as he shakes his head no before I rip it back out. His breath seemed to come out in squeaks as his body dropped to lay on top of mine while he bled out, pushing the now dead guy off me where I was covered in his blood, I make eye contact with the second border guard who was too stunned to speak. Within a spilt second though, his eyes turned pitch black, a deep growl leaving his lips and his body soon lunging right at me. Thinking quickly, I roll out of his way just in time as he smashed down to the floor with his claws extended, if I didn’t move, he would have began to rip me apart right that second. Whipping his head up with an even deeper growl now I had blocked him, I begin to dodge each hit he wanted to send my way. “We need a way to put him down long enough to run!” I shouted to my wolf hoping she would have a plan to get me out of here, but she seemed to be transfixed on whatever smell she was sensing and ignored me. Wanting to scream in frustration, I take a look down to the sharp log which I still gripped so tightly in my hand, the entire thing coated in blood and the edge seeming to have snapped off after I had used it against that guy. My mind solely on staying alive, I turn the log around to the blunt end and as this other man went to lunge at me, I smack him upside the head with the log sending him down to the ground with a hard thud. Throwing the log to the side which had now snapped in half with the force of the hit, I get to my feet and bolt past both men and over to Henry who still lay on the floor. Tears leaked from my eyes as I shook him so violently, but still, his eyes didn’t seem to flutter open at all. “Please wake up Henry, we need to go!” I pleaded with him even moving his head around to see if that would help, but due to me concentrating on Henry and not the man who I was fighting to the death, my hair is soon grabbed, and I’m pulled down to the floor. Sitting on my waist, the man who had blood dripping down his face from the log begins to send punch after punch to my face, with each hit, the world around me began to turn darker, pretty soon, I’d be joining Henry laying emotionless on the floor. “NO! He is so close, you can’t die before we meet him!” My wolf, who hadn’t spoken this entire time and only focusing on whatever that smell was, soon shouts and fills my body with a rush of energy giving me the strength to lift my legs up and throw this man off me. My mind was still a little hazy as I got to my feet to ensure I couldn’t be beaten like that again, while I look around the woods that seemed to spin so violently, I didn’t know if it was because I was in that state or my wolf pulsing me with such energy, but some odd pull feeling seemed to ripple through my body. It was as though I had some kind of magnet pulling me deeper into the pack, even though with me trespassing and killing one of their border guards, my body should be wanting the opposite, but it was a though, something was waiting for me there. Before I had the chance to even begin to make a decision, the man who I had fought with soon loomed behind me but instead of attacking once again, thick chains are wrapped around my hands and pulled behind my back. “I thought you wanted to kill me.” I mutter out wanting to start my fight, but I simply didn’t have the will or energy anymore, either from Henry or the hits to the face, my brain didn’t care, aside from following that magnetic pull. “I still do… but the Alpha has demanded to see you and with his visit from the Alpha King himself, maybe you can be the demonstration of how we handle rogues around here.” The border guard sniggered darkly in my ear before beginning to drag me away from the border and deeper into the pack where that magnetic pull seemed to be emanating. “Henry.” I sobbed turning back to find him still unconscious on the woods flooring but no matter what I did, this man continued to pull me deeper into the pack. I thought I was being led to my death, but with who the Alpha had visiting and what this man was to me… my life was about to take a turn no one was expecting.~Four months later~ “Can you help me to move that box of supplies over there please?” I asked a large guard stood close to the perimeter, who quickly bowed his head in respect walking closer to me. “Of course, your majesty.” He smiled picking up the quite heavy box with ease, I would have probably fallen to the floor if I tried picking that up alone. Thanking him as he went, I look around the area at the edge of no mans land with a smile, a location thanks to Leo and his powers as Alpha King, will now forever be known as Buddy’s corner. It was the first ever plot of no man’s land to ever get claimed by the palace, a fact some officials didn’t like at first and spat that I was making ludicrous decisions. But after Leo showed them his more aggressive side, all agreed and allowed the paperwork through giving me jurisdiction to do as I pleased… as I promised Buddy that last day. After Simon’s death outside of no man’s land, I begged Buddy to return to the palace with me and get whatev
The way Henry stood shaking in his place transported me back to the day that had haunted my thoughts since, his eyes even more pitch black than when our wolves take over and now, because I knew of conditioning and who pulled the strings, I wasn’t too surprised to watch Buddy, slowly make his own way out of the trees and stand watching his son lay on the ground barely able to lift his head up. “State your business!” One of the many guards who now stood around us asks Buddy, who didn’t even flinch in the slightest, I thought his courage was due to him being a rouge for so many years but… he was an Alpha before. “I am here to deal with my son, something I should have done years ago.” Buddy commented in a dark manner as though any other emotion was stripped from his mind in that second, he knew what had to be done. “Son?” My mother asked looking around the area a little confused, her hands still holding tightly onto my father’s shoulder who stood in front of her, his stance as like my
Simon continued to drag me as though I was some kind of rag doll through the trees and other debris of no mans land, a cold look of anger and determination on his face while he refused to look at me. Even though I wasn’t too sure what was in the needle I used, I knew it wouldn’t be long until he began to feel the real effects of it. As the woods around us seemed to thin out, the beautiful turrets of the palace I call home peeked through the trees, the place where I have come to feel the safest, not only due to the large team of guards stationed at every turn but because my mate was there. The man who took me away from the horrors which I lived in for so many years, the man who showed me the unconditional, deep, true love I had been searching for my entire life. I knew the moment I was within Leo’s gaze; I was safe. The closer we drew to the palace, the more that beautiful magnetic pull I always feel whenever Leo and I are close began to pulse, even though my wolf was still M.I.A, my
I had always thought the darkness of no man’s land was the worst feeling you would encounter, the hatred people felt for us, the death or pain that many people within this land face and just the darkness due to the high trees, it all lingered in the air and plunged each area and person alike into thick feelings of sorrow and despair. But even the darkest and most haunting area of no man’s land, did not amount to the darkness and horror which seemed to radiate from the man stood in front of me. His entire aura seemed to be drenched in a cloak of darkness, so deep within his soul that not a single ounce of light seemed to leave him, he was nothing but evil. “What are you planning Timothy?” Buddy asks rising to his feet watching the man I now know was his son, who deeply chuckled with his eyes not leaving me, it was clear he was enjoying this. “Why give away the ending father, would that not spoil the surprise.” Simon laughed walking across the woods as though he was the conductor to
All I could do was stare at Buddy in utter shock, I didn’t know what to expect when I asked if he worked with Simon, but it certainly was not him explaining he was not only Simon’s father but, my great grandfather. While I sat in my spot beyond shocked, Buddy rummaged around his supplies as he always did and picked out some powders and things. Taking a glass of water and dumping those powders inside, he pushes the glass closer to me checking the bleeding of my nose had stopped. “You’re my great grandfather?” I asked still in utter shock and confusion as the glass is now brought to my lips, the moment I swallowed the contents, it did immediately start to help the soreness of my throat. “B-but Simon was the Alpha to his pack before my father invaded to save my mother, that would mean you would have been the Alpha before him… how did you end up here as a rogue.” Was my next question having linked it all together and realised why Buddy seemed to know everything he did, he was once an A
An intense high pitched almost suffocating ringing formed in my ears; such a sound forced my eyes to open wide and my mouth to inhale the biggest breath of air I believed I’d ever had, the ringing somewhat subsiding as my mind woke up from whatever forced me to sleep. Getting to grips with my body a little more, I discover I was laying on some kind of cloth on a woodland ground, utter confusion riddled through me as I slowly, as though my head weighed a ton, looked around the area in hopes of understanding where I’d landed myself. The moment my eyes rested upon the familiar trees and cabinets which were hidden in plan sight, Buddy standing over the extremely old and worn-out bed he treats his patients on and the familiar sounds of the place I lived for so many years replaced the ringing. Immediately, my eyes go wide, and I pull myself up to a sitting position staring around even more lost. As I did this though, I soon realised another confusing but terrifying truth, solid chains wra
In a matter of an hour, I was led back through the many winding but beautiful halls of the palace towards the biggest and grandest ballroom of them all. Such a hall Leo had shown me on the tour and it was by far the most beautiful room I had ever seen, such a room Leo explained was only for the mos
My breathing came out in faster gasps than usual but not close to the sheer panic I feel after each flashback of the woods, this time around though, it wasn’t absolute fear which riddled my body, but confusion and for some reason, a hint of sadness. Due to the uncertainty, I slipped off into my h
Leo refused to let me get off him until the nurse had checked the wound on his shoulder, he explained the bullet had simply grazed the skin but did place some strips over the wound to keep it in place. Leo’s desire filled eyes not faulting in the slightest as he looked up at me, his hands only inch
My heart continued to pound so fast and hard in my chest, it was as though I was running in some intense marathon but in reality, I hadn’t moved from my spot on Leo’s lap. The way he leaned even closer to my mark and continued with his delicate kisses around that spot, wanting to fill my body with
