Se connecterMy hands shook as they rested on Henry’s chest, my eyes not moving from the two giant men stood right in front of me, sick pleasure on their faces as they could sense the fear in my chest and were somewhat enjoying it all.
“The smell is stronger than before, either you follow it or I’ll shift and do it for you!” My wolf demanded in my mind seeming to get even more agitated that I’d not done exactly what she said and rushed towards the smell, a smell I couldn’t even sense myself! “I think handling these two men who seem to want to rip us apart is a little more important.” I reply snapping at her slightly that she’d really think about whatever this odd smell was when our lives could very well be in danger! But once I snapped back out of my little disagreement with my wolf, I discover those two men had prowled even closer to Henry and me, their expressions still rippled with sick enjoyment and for one of them, thirst in a sense. “I-I’m sorry if we have accidentally, trespassed onto your territory, I will take my brother and leave.” My shaky voice whimpered out feeling as though I was as small as a mouse under these men’s shadows, but when I went to get up and begin to pull Henry, one of the men tutted at me and shoved me down so I landed on my back staring up at the pair. “Unfortunately, for you and your brother, that is not how things are done in this part of the woods. By order of our Alpha, we are to kill and dispose of any trespassers onto his land, if we simply allowed you to leave, we would not be following orders.” The one who had kicked me back down on the floor sniggers at me, it was clear these men were getting off at the fact that they held the power in this moment. “But perhaps we could come up with a little agreement… take your clothes off.” The second man who had stayed silent this entire time and loomed in the back watching me said, his smirk seemed deadlier than his friend’s, who turned to look at him with confusion. “W-what?” I asked crawling backwards a little away from the men but ensuring to keep my eyes on Henry, who still hadn’t moved a single inch since I arrived, if my mind wasn’t on these two men, I would slowly begin to fear the worst. “I am a man of integrity, but I also cannot help but feel sorry for you so, I’m willing to sacrifice my job to save your life but I believe I deserve something in return. Allow me to have my way with you and I’ll allow you and your brother to live… now as I said, take…your…clothes…off.” The man repeated in an even darker voice, his steps deadly as he walked towards me but now, I knew what he wanted, instant panic washes through me and I start to crawl even further away from him. “You want to fuck a rogue, that’s fucking disgusting, we need to follow orders and deal with her.” His friend protested pushing the guy back a little in a disgusted way, even though I was very much offended by his comment, their disagreement gave me my opportunity to look around in hopes of seeing anything that could aid me in my escape. “A fuck is a fuck! Might as well not allow her to go to waste before we kill her!” I heard the man shout in response as my eyes rested upon a large and quite sharp log sat right beside Henry, this could be my only way out of this situation alive. Allowing the men to argue back and forth at what they believe should be done, I lean over ever so slightly closer to Henry and the log. Managing to grasp the piece of wood in my hand and conceal it behind my back, I watch the two men and wait for my perfect window to strike. “I’m doing it! Keep watch!” The angriest one shouts pushing at his friend who protested his disgusting idea before turning back to me, that same evil smirk on his face but desire in his eyes as he leant down and pulled me by my leg closer to him. “Let’s see what your made of, shall we?” He asked with the darkest look in his eyes as he knelt down and attempted to grasp the edge of Henry’s hoodie which concealed my body and pull it up. But the moment this man went to touch me, I pull the extremely sharp log from behind my back and with all my strength, I send it plunging into his chest as he hovered over me. His body seemed to freeze as he looked down at the log now hanging from his chest than back at me, grasping the log once again, I watched as he shakes his head no before I rip it back out. His breath seemed to come out in squeaks as his body dropped to lay on top of mine while he bled out, pushing the now dead guy off me where I was covered in his blood, I make eye contact with the second border guard who was too stunned to speak. Within a spilt second though, his eyes turned pitch black, a deep growl leaving his lips and his body soon lunging right at me. Thinking quickly, I roll out of his way just in time as he smashed down to the floor with his claws extended, if I didn’t move, he would have began to rip me apart right that second. Whipping his head up with an even deeper growl now I had blocked him, I begin to dodge each hit he wanted to send my way. “We need a way to put him down long enough to run!” I shouted to my wolf hoping she would have a plan to get me out of here, but she seemed to be transfixed on whatever smell she was sensing and ignored me. Wanting to scream in frustration, I take a look down to the sharp log which I still gripped so tightly in my hand, the entire thing coated in blood and the edge seeming to have snapped off after I had used it against that guy. My mind solely on staying alive, I turn the log around to the blunt end and as this other man went to lunge at me, I smack him upside the head with the log sending him down to the ground with a hard thud. Throwing the log to the side which had now snapped in half with the force of the hit, I get to my feet and bolt past both men and over to Henry who still lay on the floor. Tears leaked from my eyes as I shook him so violently, but still, his eyes didn’t seem to flutter open at all. “Please wake up Henry, we need to go!” I pleaded with him even moving his head around to see if that would help, but due to me concentrating on Henry and not the man who I was fighting to the death, my hair is soon grabbed, and I’m pulled down to the floor. Sitting on my waist, the man who had blood dripping down his face from the log begins to send punch after punch to my face, with each hit, the world around me began to turn darker, pretty soon, I’d be joining Henry laying emotionless on the floor. “NO! He is so close, you can’t die before we meet him!” My wolf, who hadn’t spoken this entire time and only focusing on whatever that smell was, soon shouts and fills my body with a rush of energy giving me the strength to lift my legs up and throw this man off me. My mind was still a little hazy as I got to my feet to ensure I couldn’t be beaten like that again, while I look around the woods that seemed to spin so violently, I didn’t know if it was because I was in that state or my wolf pulsing me with such energy, but some odd pull feeling seemed to ripple through my body. It was as though I had some kind of magnet pulling me deeper into the pack, even though with me trespassing and killing one of their border guards, my body should be wanting the opposite, but it was a though, something was waiting for me there. Before I had the chance to even begin to make a decision, the man who I had fought with soon loomed behind me but instead of attacking once again, thick chains are wrapped around my hands and pulled behind my back. “I thought you wanted to kill me.” I mutter out wanting to start my fight, but I simply didn’t have the will or energy anymore, either from Henry or the hits to the face, my brain didn’t care, aside from following that magnetic pull. “I still do… but the Alpha has demanded to see you and with his visit from the Alpha King himself, maybe you can be the demonstration of how we handle rogues around here.” The border guard sniggered darkly in my ear before beginning to drag me away from the border and deeper into the pack where that magnetic pull seemed to be emanating. “Henry.” I sobbed turning back to find him still unconscious on the woods flooring but no matter what I did, this man continued to pull me deeper into the pack. I thought I was being led to my death, but with who the Alpha had visiting and what this man was to me… my life was about to take a turn no one was expecting.Even though I wanted to wait with Buddy for as long as I could, I knew Hannah could be in such danger which was only growing even further the longer we kept her there. So, with the pills held behind my back in their box and Leo, beside me with his own look of anger and possessiveness, I lead the group deeper into no man’s land and towards where Arthur calls home. On the way to Buddy, I ensured to keep them on the outskirts of no man’s land, I didn’t need us to draw any unnecessary attention to ourselves before I had a chance to speak with Buddy and find out who was keeping Hannah. So, the moment we walked into the more populated area of no man’s land, the eyes from those I lived among looking to me with shock and surprise and some, deepest anger and suspicion of those walking behind me, my family and Leo got their first real taste of rogue life. Reaching the river which ran through no man’s land offering us all water, I find a man known as Peter, a rogue around my age who was also f
Leading Leo, my family and Hannah’s father deep into the deepest section of no man’s land, the woods around us began to slip into darkness as the sun sat meters from slipping behind the trees. Even though this fact could terrify me due to the darkness, this place was somewhere I lived for almost twenty years of my life, I had become accustomed to the darkness hidden within the tress but I am not only talking about the light, but the heaviness was also somehow even darker. Leo refused to release my hand from his for a single moment, his eyes also scanning our surroundings for any rogue who could pose us a problem, due to how dangerous this situation we were walking into could be for Hannah, I insisted that the guards who follow Leo and I around to ensure our safety stayed back. We needed to somewhat blend in as much as we could until we knew where Hannah was being kept, we didn’t need the rogue who took her getting spooked and doing something rash to avoid punishment. “Do you know wh
All I could seem to do was stare in shock and disbelief as this man explained to Ethan how he and his daughter Hannah were playing, he turned his back on her for not even a minute and when he turned back, she was gone. Frantic, he looked around his garden calling her name thinking she was messing around and hiding somewhere, but the moment he heard her cry and looked out into no man’s land, a man held his daughter with a sick smile on his lips, before he shifted and raced with Hannah deep into the woods. Watching how this man pleaded with Ethan to get his men together to get his daughter back broke my heart but in some odd say, also allowed a deep feeling of anger and protectiveness over this little girl that I didn’t even know. Turning my head into the woods which led towards no man’s land, it was as though my body and wolf were pushing me through there. “You’re about to be Queen Elise, we need to find that little girl and save her!” My wolf demanded in my mind also seeming to be b
Spending the remainder of the day with my family, speaking about the past and looking through so many large books filled to the brim of photos from when I lived here, any other thought surrounding my life or why I was taken was gone. It felt as though little Elsie, who was ripped away from her family and thrown into a life of pain and darkness, was able to creep back in and feel the one thing she never had since that day, safe. Walking out of the pack house and into the chilling Spring air, the sun began to set behind the trees just ahead of me, the world around us beginning to settle down for the night. I couldn’t help but smile looking around the area, even as a rogue, this was always my favourite time of day, not only because the sky looked beautiful sending an orange glow through the land, but it was peaceful. While Leo chatted with my parents making their way through the corridors behind me, my eyes drift Ethan, stood off to the side of the pack house with his hands in his po
The moment those words left my lips, Leo’s eyes which held irritation in them already due to the thought of this Simon individual and the already, dead traitors, seemed to grow even more deadlier at the thought of anybody coming into the palace and taking me from him. His hand, which was already around my shoulders holding me, pulled me so close to him that all of my body pressed against his, whilst his chest rumbled with a growl and his eyes turned pitch black. “No simple-minded shifter will ever have the opportunity to take you away from me, I will rip each limb from their disrespectful torso and shove it down their throat until they choke.” His voice full of power and authority roared through his chest, my family having no choice but to bow their heads in submission to their King due to his voice, while I looked up still in a state of shock that this Simon man could very well be my grandfather. “Do you have some kind of photo of your father so we can see if it’s the same guy?
Sitting in front of the same vanity I had all of those years ago, my long-lost mother I thought I would never see again stood behind me, placing my hair in delicate ponytails to be cut evenly, it was all I ever wanted. But the harsh stories which were leaving her lips, made such sadness but also slight fear to form in the pit of my stomach as though what Buddy had told me, was about to finally, break out the mental cage I had placed it in. “Your father and I both refused to give in to my father and his terms, furious, my father locked me away from your father and proclaimed he’d never see me again. Due to my deference on what my father wanted, he took a knife and took away the one thing which I loved about myself, he sliced all of my hair off hoping your father, wouldn’t want anything to do with me.” She sighed recalling the awful past she held at the hands of the one man she should trust, I didn’t know my grandfather, but I began to hate him just as much as I believe my dad would.
Leaving Leo and some of my other family in the office, my mother continues to lead me through the pack house and up those beautiful winding steps I had seen, even more memories from the short years that I lived here swirling around my mind with each picture hung on the wall, dip in the hall or even
The moment I walked through their grand doors of the pack house, an odd but wonderful feeling of nostalgia filled my senses, the beautiful architecture which filled my vision as I looked around the building was mesmerising. The colour scheme was deep red and gold, very elegant but posh in a sense,
My breaths still left my lips in shaky, uneven gasps as the car door closer to Leo is opened, the air that floated in seemed lighter than what I had experienced in the past, such a feeling it was as though my body belonged here in some strange way, this place was comfortable to me. Giving my hand
The next week seemed to be a blur, each day was filled with new tasks that I was given by the officials, so much so, Leo and I barely had time to see each other. The only times we’d get to speak was in the morning when we woke up or late at night, this point seeming to frustrate Leo and according t
