ВойтиThe border guard continued to drag me through the dark and daunting woods and towards the large and towering building right in the centre known as the pack house. Such a building was the main hub of any pack, if this man was telling the truth and the Alpha King was visiting, this is exactly where he’d be.
Even though that thought should absolutely terrify me, the werewolf kind as a whole despises rogues, they see us as dirty, impure and dangerous, most even if we weren’t trespassing on their land, would try to kill us due to this hatred. Yes, some groups of rogues can be awful and will destroy many packs because they don’t agree with that way of life but some of us, as like myself, didn’t have any other choice but to become a rogue. With this in mind, I knew at the end of the day either the Alpha or the Alpha King himself would probably kill me, not only because I was a rogue and had killed one of his border guards but to send a message. But as I’m dragged so quickly into the building that my feet scuffed along the floor cutting them, I didn’t seem to care in the slightest. Either because I realised Henry was probably laying dead in that ditch and if I returned home without him, my father would probably, kill me himself. But that odd magnetic feeling seemed to be growing stronger and stronger the closer I walked to the building, it was as though I was slowly becoming engulfed in the feeling while my wolf bounded around in my head excitingly. Dragging me up the stone steps of the building, the man who truly despised me more than anyone due to our fight, pulled me into the warm building and through the lobby, the chains which hung from my hands trapping them behind my back clanging as they dug deeper into my skin. Most people move out of the way in shock, while others sent deadly growls towards me seeming to all want to rip me apart, but the moment two double doors are opened, the pull feeling seemed to be the strongest it had ever been that I almost fell over, but the faint hint of the most intense but delicious smell I have ever experienced filled my nostrils. My head, which had been glued to the floor as I was dragged along soon whipped up in hopes of finding the source of this mouthwatering, knee buckling smell that seemed to engulf my entire being. As I lifted my head up, I discover I was being dragged into a large but empty hall, the lights bright blinding my eyes, I hadn’t been around such bright lights before, the electricity we have is not only stolen but not strong enough to allow our lightbulbs to produce much light. Throwing me down to the floor so I landed on my knees with my hands still trapped behind my back, the border guard stands behind me with such a rage filled look on his face and his body held in a large and towering posture. “The Alpha is on his way, try to run again, and I’ll make sure both your legs are ripped from your disgusting body.” He growled in anger at me staring over at the doors as he spoke, even though running would probably help me, the way my eyes locked on the bottom of the door told my body not to move. “He’s getting closer! It’s about to happen!” My wolf who should also be in survival mode shouts leaping around excitedly in my head, the moment I went to question her at what this pull feeling could be, that mouthwatering smell which faintly clung to the air seemed to get stronger and stronger. In an instant, it was as though I was fully consumed with this smell that every breath I would take, it was as though it weighed me down in a sense but in the most intoxicating way. As the sounds of steps drawing closer to the door in question sounded, the stronger the smell became where I thought I was about to pass out on the spot. Throwing the doors open, my wolf jumped around giddy and my head seemed to spin, that smell was the strongest it had been, my mind completely blank in that second, my only concern was finding the owner of such a smell. Slowly lifting my head up hearing the sounds of heavy feet walking on the hardwood floor, the first man to walk in was huge himself, a tight suit showing his muscles, his hair a thick grey colour which showed he may be in his late forties while his eyes, they were cold and dark allowing a sick shiver to rush through me. But it was when my eyes fell upon the man who walked somewhat behind him, his body emanating such greater power than the Alpha stood beside him and even greater power than I’d ever seen. He stood much taller than the Alpha, his much more expensive looking black suit clinging to each muscle on his arm and legs as my eyes climbed higher. The way his jaw seemed so chiseled with his clean-shaven face and his beautiful looking silky hair my hands begged to rush through seemed so inviting but the moment my eyes locked on his bright blue eyes, it’s as though the entire world slipped from around us. His eyes held so many beautiful spirals of colours that I couldn’t bring myself to look away from him for even a second, my heart pounding in my chest as the world grew darker, all I could see and all I wanted to see from this moment on was this man and his magnetic eyes. My wolf, who jumped around as though it was some Olympic sport seemed to be the giddiest, I had ever seen her, soon uttered a single word which made all these beautiful feelings start to make perfect sense. “Mate! We’ve found mate!” She exclaimed in my mind so happy beyond word while my mouth hung open from complete shock, this was not someone I thought I would ever find with where I come from, but here he was stood right in front of me as I sat on my knees on the floor. “Mine.” I caught his beautiful and inviting lips mumble and his eyes refused to leave little old me, my face littered in forming bruises and cuts, covered in blood and mud, sitting on the floor in thick chains. “Here is the rogue we caught at the border sir, she did not go willingly and put up quite a fight, Justin has also been killed.” The man stood behind me stated telling this man all that had happened, immediately, I’m pulled out of the moment with this man and soon realise the harrowing truth, because I’m a rogue, he’s not going to want anything to do with me. “That’s not true! He is our mate and will crave our touch so much that he’ll have no choice but to accept us!” My wolf demanded in my brain now I had said this man wouldn’t want a rogue as a mate, it was clear from her voice and the way she tensed, she was pissed off. “You killed my border guard?” The Alpha, who looked at me with the same hatred and darkness each other person I come in contact with snarls, but in that moment with who was stood beside me and who I knew wouldn’t want me anymore, I was not going to simply allow them to kill me without smart mouthing them a little bit. “Who tried to rape me.” I replied now staring the Alpha right in the eyes, but the moment I spoke those words, the mate who still stood behind the Alpha lets out a deadly growl allowing each other person’s attention to shift to him, his blue eyes now pitch black and staring at me. “Release her.” His dark and dangerous voice spoke in such a wave, my entire body began to shiver and stare at his face mesmerised, even though his voice was deadly, my body seemed to greatly adore it as my wolf purred. “But your majesty, she’s nothing but a disgusting rogue.” The border guard who had fought with me this entire time shouts, in that split second, my mate's eyes go from staring at me to this man with the deadliest look I have yet to see. Marching forward, he leans his fist back and sends a punch right for this man’s face, who flies from his spot and lands with a crash right into what appeared to be some sort of shelf off to the side, his arguments pausing in that moment as he lay passed out. “If anybody dares insult my mate one final time, I will rip you all apart!! Now, as I have previously ordered you, release her this instant!” He speaks with such a rumble staring at the Alpha who looked beyond shocked, the floor I was sat on my knees on seeming to vibrate and shake. Two other men the Alpha must have mind-linked, soon walk in, pick me up under the arms so I could stand and begin to remove the very tight chains which were wrapped around my hands, a little tighter than necessary, which I knew was internal. My eyes stare shocked at my mate in that moment, has this man really decided to save me… even though I’m nothing but a rogue?! “Yes! He is our mate, one of his main purposes in life is to protect us!” My wolf once again chimes in seeing this as her moment to explain some things to me, no one had ever really taken care of me… aside from Henry. The moment Henry entered my brain once again, the image of him laying on the woods flooring clinging to life filled my brain. Yes, I know I have found my mate, but I need to get to Henry, he could desperately need my help, I can’t leave him there! “No! You can’t leave mate, no one else on this planet matters anymore now we have found him! You are to stay here!” My wolf growled so loudly in my mind the moment I began to plan my escape route, but I just had to shake my head now the chains were no longer around my hands. “I can’t leave Henry! He could be dead somewhere and how do you know this man isn’t like the border guard in the woods?! He could have his way with us and then discard of me afterward because of who I am! I need to find Henry and get back!” I demanded back in my own anger looking around the room for any escape, both exits were blocked with even more guards leaving me no option but to take the deadliest of drastic measures when I was no longer under any restraints. Without much thought, I sprint as fast as my feet would let me and smash through one of the pane glass windows sat right to my side, the cold and now wet wind ripping through my hair, along with the glass cutting my skin but with what I was doing, I couldn’t dwell on that as I rolled down the window ledge of the window underneath and land on my feet outside. The rain which wasn’t in the sky when I entered the building pelting my body while my wolf growled so angrily in my head, but running was something I’d always done, it’s all I knew. Looking up at the now completely smashed through window, I find my mate stood right up close looking down at me as I crouched down. His eyes holding anger that I had ran from him, the way his body tensed was evidence to me that I’d done the right thing, this man isn’t going to want someone like me as his mate. With one last look into his beautiful but angry eyes, I take off running into the dark and rainy woods as fast as my bloody feet could take me. But that mate of mine I thought wouldn’t want me… craved me more than life itself and would soon be hot on my tail.Even though I wanted to wait with Buddy for as long as I could, I knew Hannah could be in such danger which was only growing even further the longer we kept her there. So, with the pills held behind my back in their box and Leo, beside me with his own look of anger and possessiveness, I lead the group deeper into no man’s land and towards where Arthur calls home. On the way to Buddy, I ensured to keep them on the outskirts of no man’s land, I didn’t need us to draw any unnecessary attention to ourselves before I had a chance to speak with Buddy and find out who was keeping Hannah. So, the moment we walked into the more populated area of no man’s land, the eyes from those I lived among looking to me with shock and surprise and some, deepest anger and suspicion of those walking behind me, my family and Leo got their first real taste of rogue life. Reaching the river which ran through no man’s land offering us all water, I find a man known as Peter, a rogue around my age who was also f
Leading Leo, my family and Hannah’s father deep into the deepest section of no man’s land, the woods around us began to slip into darkness as the sun sat meters from slipping behind the trees. Even though this fact could terrify me due to the darkness, this place was somewhere I lived for almost twenty years of my life, I had become accustomed to the darkness hidden within the tress but I am not only talking about the light, but the heaviness was also somehow even darker. Leo refused to release my hand from his for a single moment, his eyes also scanning our surroundings for any rogue who could pose us a problem, due to how dangerous this situation we were walking into could be for Hannah, I insisted that the guards who follow Leo and I around to ensure our safety stayed back. We needed to somewhat blend in as much as we could until we knew where Hannah was being kept, we didn’t need the rogue who took her getting spooked and doing something rash to avoid punishment. “Do you know wh
All I could seem to do was stare in shock and disbelief as this man explained to Ethan how he and his daughter Hannah were playing, he turned his back on her for not even a minute and when he turned back, she was gone. Frantic, he looked around his garden calling her name thinking she was messing around and hiding somewhere, but the moment he heard her cry and looked out into no man’s land, a man held his daughter with a sick smile on his lips, before he shifted and raced with Hannah deep into the woods. Watching how this man pleaded with Ethan to get his men together to get his daughter back broke my heart but in some odd say, also allowed a deep feeling of anger and protectiveness over this little girl that I didn’t even know. Turning my head into the woods which led towards no man’s land, it was as though my body and wolf were pushing me through there. “You’re about to be Queen Elise, we need to find that little girl and save her!” My wolf demanded in my mind also seeming to be b
Spending the remainder of the day with my family, speaking about the past and looking through so many large books filled to the brim of photos from when I lived here, any other thought surrounding my life or why I was taken was gone. It felt as though little Elsie, who was ripped away from her family and thrown into a life of pain and darkness, was able to creep back in and feel the one thing she never had since that day, safe. Walking out of the pack house and into the chilling Spring air, the sun began to set behind the trees just ahead of me, the world around us beginning to settle down for the night. I couldn’t help but smile looking around the area, even as a rogue, this was always my favourite time of day, not only because the sky looked beautiful sending an orange glow through the land, but it was peaceful. While Leo chatted with my parents making their way through the corridors behind me, my eyes drift Ethan, stood off to the side of the pack house with his hands in his po
The moment those words left my lips, Leo’s eyes which held irritation in them already due to the thought of this Simon individual and the already, dead traitors, seemed to grow even more deadlier at the thought of anybody coming into the palace and taking me from him. His hand, which was already around my shoulders holding me, pulled me so close to him that all of my body pressed against his, whilst his chest rumbled with a growl and his eyes turned pitch black. “No simple-minded shifter will ever have the opportunity to take you away from me, I will rip each limb from their disrespectful torso and shove it down their throat until they choke.” His voice full of power and authority roared through his chest, my family having no choice but to bow their heads in submission to their King due to his voice, while I looked up still in a state of shock that this Simon man could very well be my grandfather. “Do you have some kind of photo of your father so we can see if it’s the same guy?
Sitting in front of the same vanity I had all of those years ago, my long-lost mother I thought I would never see again stood behind me, placing my hair in delicate ponytails to be cut evenly, it was all I ever wanted. But the harsh stories which were leaving her lips, made such sadness but also slight fear to form in the pit of my stomach as though what Buddy had told me, was about to finally, break out the mental cage I had placed it in. “Your father and I both refused to give in to my father and his terms, furious, my father locked me away from your father and proclaimed he’d never see me again. Due to my deference on what my father wanted, he took a knife and took away the one thing which I loved about myself, he sliced all of my hair off hoping your father, wouldn’t want anything to do with me.” She sighed recalling the awful past she held at the hands of the one man she should trust, I didn’t know my grandfather, but I began to hate him just as much as I believe my dad would.
“I want my mummy and daddy!” My tiny voice cries out into the darkness, that same feeling of dread that washes over me each time that I have a flashback, gripping my senses. But this time, I was not in those dark and terrifying woods that I land myself in each time that I drift to sleep, I was now
The way this dishevelled man looked to me, evil in his expression and that sharp and rusted knife in his hand, my body shook initially staring over at him as though he was simply a figment of my imagination and I wasn’t being held captive for the second time in this palace. “You are not slipping o
Due to the early morning start Leo and I had after that man began to shoot up the bedroom and all the events which transpired after… I was somewhat tired as I sat on one of the large tables on the patio outside with Maria, the warm Spring air seeming to be the only thing keeping me awake. I had wa
My breaths escaped my lips in short motions as Leo hovered above me, his kisses on my neck and my wolf begging me to accept his offer and finally, seal the deal she’s been longing for since we found each other, only aiding my entire body to beg for his touch even more.
