The border guard continued to drag me through the dark and daunting woods and towards the large and towering building right in the centre known as the pack house. Such a building was the main hub of any pack, if this man was telling the truth and the Alpha King was visiting, this is exactly where he’d be.

Even though that thought should absolutely terrify me, the werewolf kind as a whole despises rogues, they see us as dirty, impure and dangerous, most even if we weren’t trespassing on their land, would try to kill us due to this hatred. Yes, some groups of rogues can be awful and will destroy many packs because they don’t agree with that way of life but some of us, as like myself, didn’t have any other choice but to become a rogue.

With this in mind, I knew at the end of the day either the Alpha or the Alpha King himself would probably kill me, not only because I was a rogue and had killed one of his border guards but to send a message. But as I’m dragged so quickly into the building that my feet scuffed along the floor cutting them, I didn’t seem to care in the slightest.

Either because I realised Henry was probably laying dead in that ditch and if I returned home without him, my father would probably, kill me himself. But that odd magnetic feeling seemed to be growing stronger and stronger the closer I walked to the building, it was as though I was slowly becoming engulfed in the feeling while my wolf bounded around in my head excitingly.

Dragging me up the stone steps of the building, the man who truly despised me more than anyone due to our fight, pulled me into the warm building and through the lobby, the chains which hung from my hands trapping them behind my back clanging as they dug deeper into my skin. Most people move out of the way in shock, while others sent deadly growls towards me seeming to all want to rip me apart, but the moment two double doors are opened, the pull feeling seemed to be the strongest it had ever been that I almost fell over, but the faint hint of the most intense but delicious smell I have ever experienced filled my nostrils.

My head, which had been glued to the floor as I was dragged along soon whipped up in hopes of finding the source of this mouthwatering, knee buckling smell that seemed to engulf my entire being. As I lifted my head up, I discover I was being dragged into a large but empty hall, the lights bright blinding my eyes, I hadn’t been around such bright lights before, the electricity we have is not only stolen but not strong enough to allow our lightbulbs to produce much light.

Throwing me down to the floor so I landed on my knees with my hands still trapped behind my back, the border guard stands behind me with such a rage filled look on his face and his body held in a large and towering posture.

“The Alpha is on his way, try to run again, and I’ll make sure both your legs are ripped from your disgusting body.” He growled in anger at me staring over at the doors as he spoke, even though running would probably help me, the way my eyes locked on the bottom of the door told my body not to move.

“He’s getting closer! It’s about to happen!” My wolf who should also be in survival mode shouts leaping around excitedly in my head, the moment I went to question her at what this pull feeling could be, that mouthwatering smell which faintly clung to the air seemed to get stronger and stronger.

In an instant, it was as though I was fully consumed with this smell that every breath I would take, it was as though it weighed me down in a sense but in the most intoxicating way. As the sounds of steps drawing closer to the door in question sounded, the stronger the smell became where I thought I was about to pass out on the spot. Throwing the doors open, my wolf jumped around giddy and my head seemed to spin, that smell was the strongest it had been, my mind completely blank in that second, my only concern was finding the owner of such a smell.

Slowly lifting my head up hearing the sounds of heavy feet walking on the hardwood floor, the first man to walk in was huge himself, a tight suit showing his muscles, his hair a thick grey colour which showed he may be in his late forties while his eyes, they were cold and dark allowing a sick shiver to rush through me.

But it was when my eyes fell upon the man who walked somewhat behind him, his body emanating such greater power than the Alpha stood beside him and even greater power than I’d ever seen. He stood much taller than the Alpha, his much more expensive looking black suit clinging to each muscle on his arm and legs as my eyes climbed higher. The way his jaw seemed so chiseled with his clean-shaven face and his beautiful looking silky hair my hands begged to rush through seemed so inviting but the moment my eyes locked on his bright blue eyes, it’s as though the entire world slipped from around us.

His eyes held so many beautiful spirals of colours that I couldn’t bring myself to look away from him for even a second, my heart pounding in my chest as the world grew darker, all I could see and all I wanted to see from this moment on was this man and his magnetic eyes. My wolf, who jumped around as though it was some Olympic sport seemed to be the giddiest, I had ever seen her, soon uttered a single word which made all these beautiful feelings start to make perfect sense.

“Mate! We’ve found mate!” She exclaimed in my mind so happy beyond word while my mouth hung open from complete shock, this was not someone I thought I would ever find with where I come from, but here he was stood right in front of me as I sat on my knees on the floor.

“Mine.” I caught his beautiful and inviting lips mumble and his eyes refused to leave little old me, my face littered in forming bruises and cuts, covered in blood and mud, sitting on the floor in thick chains.

“Here is the rogue we caught at the border sir, she did not go willingly and put up quite a fight, Justin has also been killed.” The man stood behind me stated telling this man all that had happened, immediately, I’m pulled out of the moment with this man and soon realise the harrowing truth, because I’m a rogue, he’s not going to want anything to do with me.

“That’s not true! He is our mate and will crave our touch so much that he’ll have no choice but to accept us!” My wolf demanded in my brain now I had said this man wouldn’t want a rogue as a mate, it was clear from her voice and the way she tensed, she was pissed off.

“You killed my border guard?” The Alpha, who looked at me with the same hatred and darkness each other person I come in contact with snarls, but in that moment with who was stood beside me and who I knew wouldn’t want me anymore, I was not going to simply allow them to kill me without smart mouthing them a little bit.

“Who tried to rape me.” I replied now staring the Alpha right in the eyes, but the moment I spoke those words, the mate who still stood behind the Alpha lets out a deadly growl allowing each other person’s attention to shift to him, his blue eyes now pitch black and staring at me.

“Release her.” His dark and dangerous voice spoke in such a wave, my entire body began to shiver and stare at his face mesmerised, even though his voice was deadly, my body seemed to greatly adore it as my wolf purred.

“But your majesty, she’s nothing but a disgusting rogue.” The border guard who had fought with me this entire time shouts, in that split second, my mate's eyes go from staring at me to this man with the deadliest look I have yet to see.

Marching forward, he leans his fist back and sends a punch right for this man’s face, who flies from his spot and lands with a crash right into what appeared to be some sort of shelf off to the side, his arguments pausing in that moment as he lay passed out.

“If anybody dares insult my mate one final time, I will rip you all apart!! Now, as I have previously ordered you, release her this instant!” He speaks with such a rumble staring at the Alpha who looked beyond shocked, the floor I was sat on my knees on seeming to vibrate and shake.

Two other men the Alpha must have mind-linked, soon walk in, pick me up under the arms so I could stand and begin to remove the very tight chains which were wrapped around my hands, a little tighter than necessary, which I knew was internal. My eyes stare shocked at my mate in that moment, has this man really decided to save me… even though I’m nothing but a rogue?!

“Yes! He is our mate, one of his main purposes in life is to protect us!” My wolf once again chimes in seeing this as her moment to explain some things to me, no one had ever really taken care of me… aside from Henry.

The moment Henry entered my brain once again, the image of him laying on the woods flooring clinging to life filled my brain. Yes, I know I have found my mate, but I need to get to Henry, he could desperately need my help, I can’t leave him there!

“No! You can’t leave mate, no one else on this planet matters anymore now we have found him! You are to stay here!” My wolf growled so loudly in my mind the moment I began to plan my escape route, but I just had to shake my head now the chains were no longer around my hands.

“I can’t leave Henry! He could be dead somewhere and how do you know this man isn’t like the border guard in the woods?! He could have his way with us and then discard of me afterward because of who I am! I need to find Henry and get back!” I demanded back in my own anger looking around the room for any escape, both exits were blocked with even more guards leaving me no option but to take the deadliest of drastic measures when I was no longer under any restraints.

Without much thought, I sprint as fast as my feet would let me and smash through one of the pane glass windows sat right to my side, the cold and now wet wind ripping through my hair, along with the glass cutting my skin but with what I was doing, I couldn’t dwell on that as I rolled down the window ledge of the window underneath and land on my feet outside. The rain which wasn’t in the sky when I entered the building pelting my body while my wolf growled so angrily in my head, but running was something I’d always done, it’s all I knew.

Looking up at the now completely smashed through window, I find my mate stood right up close looking down at me as I crouched down. His eyes holding anger that I had ran from him, the way his body tensed was evidence to me that I’d done the right thing, this man isn’t going to want someone like me as his mate.

With one last look into his beautiful but angry eyes, I take off running into the dark and rainy woods as fast as my bloody feet could take me.

But that mate of mine I thought wouldn’t want me… craved me more than life itself and would soon be hot on my tail.

~Four months later~ “Can you help me to move that box of supplies over there please?” I asked a large guard stood close to the perimeter, who quickly bowed his head in respect walking closer to me. “Of course, your majesty.” He smiled picking up the quite heavy box with ease, I would have probably fallen to the floor if I tried picking that up alone. Thanking him as he went, I look around the area at the edge of no mans land with a smile, a location thanks to Leo and his powers as Alpha King, will now forever be known as Buddy’s corner. It was the first ever plot of no man’s land to ever get claimed by the palace, a fact some officials didn’t like at first and spat that I was making ludicrous decisions. But after Leo showed them his more aggressive side, all agreed and allowed the paperwork through giving me jurisdiction to do as I pleased… as I promised Buddy that last day. After Simon’s death outside of no man’s land, I begged Buddy to return to the palace with me and get whatev

The way Henry stood shaking in his place transported me back to the day that had haunted my thoughts since, his eyes even more pitch black than when our wolves take over and now, because I knew of conditioning and who pulled the strings, I wasn’t too surprised to watch Buddy, slowly make his own way out of the trees and stand watching his son lay on the ground barely able to lift his head up. “State your business!” One of the many guards who now stood around us asks Buddy, who didn’t even flinch in the slightest, I thought his courage was due to him being a rouge for so many years but… he was an Alpha before. “I am here to deal with my son, something I should have done years ago.” Buddy commented in a dark manner as though any other emotion was stripped from his mind in that second, he knew what had to be done. “Son?” My mother asked looking around the area a little confused, her hands still holding tightly onto my father’s shoulder who stood in front of her, his stance as like my

Simon continued to drag me as though I was some kind of rag doll through the trees and other debris of no mans land, a cold look of anger and determination on his face while he refused to look at me. Even though I wasn’t too sure what was in the needle I used, I knew it wouldn’t be long until he began to feel the real effects of it. As the woods around us seemed to thin out, the beautiful turrets of the palace I call home peeked through the trees, the place where I have come to feel the safest, not only due to the large team of guards stationed at every turn but because my mate was there. The man who took me away from the horrors which I lived in for so many years, the man who showed me the unconditional, deep, true love I had been searching for my entire life. I knew the moment I was within Leo’s gaze; I was safe. The closer we drew to the palace, the more that beautiful magnetic pull I always feel whenever Leo and I are close began to pulse, even though my wolf was still M.I.A, my

  • The Outcast Claimed by the King   Chapter Sixty-One: Washed Up

I had always thought the darkness of no man’s land was the worst feeling you would encounter, the hatred people felt for us, the death or pain that many people within this land face and just the darkness due to the high trees, it all lingered in the air and plunged each area and person alike into thick feelings of sorrow and despair. But even the darkest and most haunting area of no man’s land, did not amount to the darkness and horror which seemed to radiate from the man stood in front of me. His entire aura seemed to be drenched in a cloak of darkness, so deep within his soul that not a single ounce of light seemed to leave him, he was nothing but evil. “What are you planning Timothy?” Buddy asks rising to his feet watching the man I now know was his son, who deeply chuckled with his eyes not leaving me, it was clear he was enjoying this. “Why give away the ending father, would that not spoil the surprise.” Simon laughed walking across the woods as though he was the conductor to

All I could do was stare at Buddy in utter shock, I didn’t know what to expect when I asked if he worked with Simon, but it certainly was not him explaining he was not only Simon’s father but, my great grandfather. While I sat in my spot beyond shocked, Buddy rummaged around his supplies as he always did and picked out some powders and things. Taking a glass of water and dumping those powders inside, he pushes the glass closer to me checking the bleeding of my nose had stopped. “You’re my great grandfather?” I asked still in utter shock and confusion as the glass is now brought to my lips, the moment I swallowed the contents, it did immediately start to help the soreness of my throat. “B-but Simon was the Alpha to his pack before my father invaded to save my mother, that would mean you would have been the Alpha before him… how did you end up here as a rogue.” Was my next question having linked it all together and realised why Buddy seemed to know everything he did, he was once an A

An intense high pitched almost suffocating ringing formed in my ears; such a sound forced my eyes to open wide and my mouth to inhale the biggest breath of air I believed I’d ever had, the ringing somewhat subsiding as my mind woke up from whatever forced me to sleep. Getting to grips with my body a little more, I discover I was laying on some kind of cloth on a woodland ground, utter confusion riddled through me as I slowly, as though my head weighed a ton, looked around the area in hopes of understanding where I’d landed myself. The moment my eyes rested upon the familiar trees and cabinets which were hidden in plan sight, Buddy standing over the extremely old and worn-out bed he treats his patients on and the familiar sounds of the place I lived for so many years replaced the ringing. Immediately, my eyes go wide, and I pull myself up to a sitting position staring around even more lost. As I did this though, I soon realised another confusing but terrifying truth, solid chains wra

If I thought the look of Leo’s bathroom was elegant and incredible, it didn’t amount to the beauty of his shower that I was able to stand under and wash each feeling of uncertainty down the drain.
