Skylar

At first, I wasn’t sure if I was dreaming or floating somewhere in between. My eyelids felt too heavy, and every time I tried to open them, a burning ache pulled me back into the dark.

But after what felt like forever, I forced my lashes apart.

White.

That was the first thing I saw. White walls, too-bright lights stinging my eyes, and the strong smell of antiseptics. Everywhere was quiet, except for the slow, steady beep of a machine nearby. For a few seconds, I just stared, confused, until it all clicked together.

A hospital.

I was alive. I made it alive!

Before I could breathe a sigh of relief, another thought hit me… Mother.

I shot up from the bed so suddenly that I felt a sharp, hot pain in my thigh, making me groan loudly. I ignored it, my eyes flying around the room in panic.

“Mother! Mother!”

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Filled With Regrets

Celeste The air in the house felt heavy this morning. Everywhere was just too silent that one would even think our family was mourning or something. But that was because the day had finally come. I had prayed for time to slow down, but now the moment was here. The police were already waiting downstairs, ready to take me away. My parents had tried to stall, I knew they had. They had done everything they could to delay this day. But time does not stop, no matter how much you wish it would. My hands shook as I touched the door handle of my room. My heart pounded in my chest, each beat reminding me that I was not waking from a nightmare… this was real. When I finally opened the door, I saw Mother standing right outside. “Mother,” I whispered softly. She turned to me, and the sight of her nearly broke me. Her eyes were swollen and red, proof that she had been crying for

Cole“Was loving you a crime, Cole?”For a moment, I just stared at her. I clenched my jaw, leaning forward.“No, Amelia. Loving me wasn’t a crime. But the things you did in the name of that so-called love… those were crimes. You destroyed lives. You hurt people who never wronged you. If you call this obsession love, then yes… it is a crime.”Her face crumbled at my words, though she said nothing. She lowered her head, her shoulders slumping, and I saw it; guilt, shame, and still, beneath all that, a longing she couldn’t hide.I exhaled slowly, rubbing my temples. If she truly hadn’t sent anyone else after Mr. McLair, then the pieces didn’t add up. That meant someone else had been there, someone else had poisoned him before Nathaniel got to him. Which meant the threat wasn’t over.As I was caught in my thoughts, Amelia’s voice cut through the silence. It was softer this time, almost hesitant.“If… if I had met you before

AmeliaThe jingle of the policewomen’s keys filled the hallway as I was led on both sides by them. I tried to keep my head up, but inside, my chest felt tight. From the cells on either side came the usual laughter and jeers from the prisoners.“Hey, doll face!” one female inmate shouted. "Are you going to leave us today?"Another whistled low, followed by laughter that made my stomach twist. The policewomen made no move to stop them and guided me through another metal door, toward the visiting area. The air was cooler here, calmer, but no less suffocating. My eyes scanned the room quickly, and then they landed on him.Cole.He was sitting there already, waiting. His eyes were on me the moment I entered, and his expression was cold and unreadable.I froze in place. For a heartbeat, I thought about just turning back. Returning to the cell would almost be easier than facing him after everything that had happene

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Road Accident

SkylarThe loud ringing in my ears was the only sound I could hear. At first, I thought I was dreaming. My eyelids were heavy, and when I forced them open, everything around me was nothing but blurred shapes and broken light. For a moment, I couldn’t understand what had happened. All I felt was the deafening hum inside my skull, drowning out everything else. Then the smell hit me; burnt metal, smoke, and something sharp that made me want to gag. Slowly, my vision began to sharpen, and I realized I wasn’t dreaming at all. Everything around me was chaos. The windshield in front of me was cracked. The car door beside me was crushed inward and twisted oddly.I blinked hard, trying to clear my vision, but my head throbbed so much it felt like my skull might split open.I turned slowly, and my heart almost stopped when my eyes landed on her.“Mother,” I whispered. She was lying beside me, her head slumped at an odd angle,

Skylar“Thank you, Ingrid, for helping us pack the bag,” Mother said softly.Ingrid simply nodded. Her lips trembled as though she wanted to say more, but no words came out. She looked at me with sad, teary eyes. “I’ll keep praying for you,” she whispered. “Praying that you find the calm and happiness you seek… and that you come back soon.”My heart twisted at her words as I stepped forward and hugged her tightly.“I hope so too,” I murmured against her shoulder. “I really do.”She held me for a moment longer before letting go, wiping her tears quickly as though she didn’t want me to see them.Mother gently touched my arm, urging me toward the stairs. Together, we descended slowly.I glanced around, half-hoping, half-dreading that I might see Cole again. But he wasn’t there. He hadn’t come back after leaving the room earlier. When I had made my request, when I had asked him to let me go, he hadn’t said a single
