Dominique

" That's The Black Judge " I heard someone yell behind me.

" Call the police. Call anyone " The voice that yell this was terror filled.

Bang!!

More screams. The person who yelled for the police dropped dead.

" You missed me? " Nikolai asked walking closer to me.

My heart did a barrel roll. That voice did something to me. That voice that I had refused to hear in my subconscious. That voice that had always made my day.

Nikolai moved closer to me tossing the dagger from one hand to the other. He was going to kill me. I was supposed to move but for some unknown reason I couldn't.

" Get away from my son. " I heard my mother yell. She used her body to shield me. " Get your twisted perverted self away from my son. "

" Your son??? He wasn't your son when you wanted him to sell his body to get you a position in the government. " Nikolai said.

" That is not your concern. How are you still here??? You're supposed to be dead. "

" Well I'm not as you can see. I came back for what's mine. " He said pointing the dagger at me.

" Over my dead body. " My mom shrieked.

" As you wish. " He signaled for his men and two of them stepped forward. They grabbed my mother's neck and forced her to her knees. One pulled out his gun and put it to her head.

" Leave my mother. " Asher said charging at Nikolai.

Nikolai lifted his hand and struck Asher. Asher fell to the ground. That action tore me out of my reverie. I moved towards Nikolai and grabbed him by his collar.

" Let my family go!!!! They have nothing to do with this. Let them go. "

Nikolai's eyes hardened.

" I want to stab you. " He said. " I want to torture you so you can feel every single pain I felt. I had envisaged killing you a million times but now you're in front of me, I can't seem to do it. "

" You're supposed to be dead." I croaked. " You're supposed you be dead. But here you are like a nightmare refusing to stay in the dream world. Here you are ruining my perfect life. "

Nikolai grabbed my by my neck and lifted me off my feet. He cut my airway off making me gasp for breath.

" Go ahead. Kill me. I dare you. " I choke out.

That must have enraged him because his grip on my neck tightened. My vision became blurry and I knew I would soon pass out but I refused to beg him to spare me.

" Leave him, you sick fuck " Douglas said hitting Nikolai's arm.

Even in that my state I was scared for him. I didn't want Nikolai turning his anger on him. Nikolai let me go and I collapsed on the floor with relief, coughing and trying to take in as much oxygen as I could. But my relief was short-lived. Just as I had feared, Nikolai lifted one hand and pulled the trigger ever so quickly. Douglas fell to the ground a few feet from where I was.

Someone screamed. I think it was me but in that state if panic I didn't quite know. I crawled to where Douglas was and wrapped my arm around him.

" Doug!!!! Doug!!! " I yelled. " Stay with me, baby."

Tears were rolling down my face. There were people in the room but I couldn't see them. I only saw Doug on the floor covered in his own blood.

" Call an ambulance. Please!!! Someone please call an ambulance, my baby is dying. My Douglas is dying! " I kept screaming but nobody dared to move. They couldn't because they were scared they would be next.

I left Doug and crawled to Nikolai. I held his thighs and looked up at him with my tear streaked face. There was no sympathy in his eyes.

" So that's my replacement." He said coldly. " For four years, even in my hate I couldn't bring myself to sleep with anyone else. You were always on my mind even though I despised you. But you've been fucking someone else. "

" Please. You can do whatever you want to me but please let me call an ambulance. He's not dead yet. Please save him. I will hang myself if he dies. "

" Then do it. " Nikolai said.

" Have a heart, will you? " I yelled. " you were never this heartless. "

" My heart died the day I watched you stand in that witness box and testify against me. "

" Please. You can make me pay. I'll be good I'll do whatever you say. I promise. Please let me save him. Nikolai."

I said his name for the first time in four years. Since the day I had gotten him locked up, I refused to say his name. I couldn't bring myself to. But now that I said it, it felt so familiar.

" Call an ambulance " He said to one of the men.

The man hesitated for a while before pulling out his phone to make the call.

" Thank you. Thank you." I whispered to him.

I left his leg and crawled back to where Doug was.

I stroked his thick black hair, saying softly.

" Hang in there baby. Help is on the way.My darling baby. "

" If you keep touching him I'll shoot him again." Nikolai said.

I stood up immediately. I was wise enough to know that he would indeed carry out his threat. He signaled to his men. One lifted my brother and another carried my mom. They carried them to the entrance of the ballroom.

" Where are you taking them? " I asked trying to go after the men but Nikolai blocked my path.

" You're coming with me. " He said.

" No "

" Then he gets no help " He said pointing at Doug who lau motionless.

The only thing that kept me from losing my mind was the slight rise and fall of his chest.

I looked at Doug and slowly nodded. Nikolai whacked me with his gun on my head. I felt warm blood drip to my chin. My vision blurred and I found myself being lifted off the floor and unto his shoulders.

" You and I are taking a long ride, Pet. " I heard him say before I completely blacked out.

Dominique. I had fallen asleep in the exact spot they had left me. I didn't even remember closing my eyes. The pain in my body had eventually dulled enough for exhaustion to take over, and I had been too tired to care where I slept. The sound of the door opening pulled me out of it. Footsteps approached. I kept my eyes closed. A slight nudge against my leg made me flinch. “Get up.” I slowly opened my eyes. Roman stood over me, his expression hard. Behind him was a short haired woman in a lab coat, carrying a medical bag. I pushed myself up on one elbow, immediately regretting it when pain shot through my side. Roman's jaw tightened. “You could at least ask how he's doing.” I looked at him. “Who?” His eyes narrowed. “The Pakhan.” I stared at him for a moment before looking away. “I don't care.” Roman scoffed. “You shot him.” “He shot my boyfriend and abducted me and my family.” “ That bullet could have killed him.” “Well I'm guessing i

Nikolai. Shit! That piece of shit really shot me. Thank goodness it was my arm. Dmitri was holding me trying to apply pressure on the wound. My boys, almost a dozen of them had gathered and were beating up Dominique. I should let them beat him to death but he could only die by my hands. No one else had the right to take his life not even him. " Enough!" I yelled. Everyone stood still but one of the boys made sure he added an extra kick. Dominique was writhing and groaning in pain. " Call Andrea. " Dmitri said to Roman. Roman rushed out with another of my boys. The rest rallied round me shouting and panicking. They half carried me out of the room down to the east wing where my room was. " Put me down you dimwits and quit fussing. " I said irritatedly. They helped me onto the sofa, arranging my legs on the table. " Pakhan. Are you okay? " Rusev said massaging my legs. " Get him water!" " It's just my arm you fools. I'm not dying. I've survived worse. " " Wh

Dominique. The room was too comfortable for a place where I was being held against my will. I sat on the bed looking out the window. Only one thing on my mind. Escaping. But how? I don't think I would even be able to step out of this room. So how would I escape? I was so deep in thought that I didn't hear the room door open. I thought it was Roman coming to check on me but then that familiar scent hit me. I turned. Nikolai stood in the doorway. He was dressed entirely in black. A fitted shirt beneath a long black coat, dark trousers, and polished boots. The top buttons of his shirt were undone, exposing the faint line of his collarbone. His dark hair was slightly disheveled, a few strands falling across his forehead as though he hadn't bothered fixing it. There was something different about him. He looked exhausted. Not weak. Never weak. Just... worn around the edges. And somehow, that only made him more attractive. The scar cutting across his left eye mad

Dominique ( Present day ) I had no idea how long I had been kept inside the empty room. My chest was hurting badly and I was having trouble breathing. I think they may have broken my ribs. I laid on the floor holding my belly with my eyes closed wondering if Nikolai had fulfilled his promise of taking Doug to the hospital. I wondered if Doug was fine. I also wondered where my mom and Asher were being kept. I began counting to help me drift off but my counting was interrupted by the sound of the door being opened. I refused to open my eyes, hoping that whoever came in would go out soon. " Get up. " A voice said. I slowly opened my eyes and weakly raised my head. A tall guy, maybe a little older than me stood in the room lazily twirling a gun in his left hand. " Why? Where are we going?" I asked. " Your room. " " My what? " " The Pakhan has ordered that you be given a room. " I snorted. " The Pakhan. " I said in a tone of disbelief. " I will never get over the

Nikolai (Present day) I was never a righteous man. In fact, I was probably closer to hell than heaven. I had ordered deaths. Destroyed businesses. Ruined men who thought their money could buy them immunity. I had done things most people would never forgive. But I had a line. Innocent people. I never crossed it. That was why they called me the Black Judge. I didn't believe in mercy for men who didn't deserve it. I believed everyone eventually answered for what they had done. For years, I had served justice to other people. Now I had returned to serve it to myself. I had to wait for four whole years. I wasn't a very patient man but I had to. That was the only way justice could be served. They were all going to pay one by one, including the one person I had loved. Dominique. He stood in that courtroom and looked me in the eyes while he destroyed everything I had built. He knew me. He knew what I was. He knew what loving me meant. And he still chose to

Dominique The words barely registered. “What?” “Take him away.” “Dad, what are you talking about?” Two officers grabbed my arms. I tried to pull away. “Dad!” He didn't answer me. His eyes stayed on Nikolai. Nikolai was already surrounded by officers, his hands restrained behind his back. He looked completely calm. Too calm. “Nikolai!” His eyes found mine. For one brief second, everything else disappeared. Then one of the officers dragged me toward a waiting police vehicle. “ What is going on?” I shouted. " We haven't done anything. " Nobody answered. By the time they put me inside the interrogation room, I had asked the same question so many times that my throat hurt. Nobody gave me an answer. They took my phone. They took my watch. They took everything from my pockets. Then they left me sitting alone beneath a harsh fluorescent light. I stared at the door. Where was my father? Why had he arrested me? And what the hell was happeni
