The Whys?

Sitting next to Alexander Belle, Cole felt chills down his spine. He turned to Joan's father with a grin before saying, "Good evening, Mr. Belle. How are you doing today?"

"Boy, do you still remember our agreement?" Alexander asked with his voice raised. 

"Ah, yes, Mr. Belle. Rest assured, I am taking care of Joan very well. No need to get worried," Cole answered before taking a deep breath. 

"Dad, relax, please," pleaded Joan before she hooked her arms to both Cole and her father. She looked at the Hales and another relative of Christopher before revealing, "Dad and Cole have become good friends."

Her words shocked everyone, especially Christopher. Did Joan imply that Cole was an acceptable future son-in-law to the Belles? They all simultaneously thought the same while Christopher was still overwhelmed to learn that it was Cole who Joan had been spending time with these past few weeks. 

Meredith, on the other hand, was hurt by the s
