Chapter 5

ผู้เขียน: Failed Life
Donald said, "Rosalie, I'm taking some friends out to dinner tonight. Call Isabel and get ready. I'll have someone pick you guys up in a bit."

"Really? Great! We were just wondering what to do for dinner," Rosalie Lodge said brightly.

Damian let out a cold snort, stood up, and walked over to Donald. With a look, he signaled to Vincent to hang up. Then he drove his foot viciously into Donald's chest, cursing, "You're actually selling out your own sisters. You don't even deserve to be called human."

As he spoke, he waved a hand and stepped back. Pointing at Donald, he said, "Keep going. Break his arms and legs."

The bodyguards charged at Donald, grabbed him by the collar, and dragged him back into the room to continue the beating.

Damian turned and leaned close to Vincent, murmuring, "Have a bed brought in here. Also, get a huge trunk. I want Donald stuffed inside it."

Vincent's face twisted into a nasty grin. He nodded, then pulled out his phone and hurried out of the room, jogging down the stairs.

Half an hour later, he came back and hurried over to Damian, holding up his phone. "Mr. Halston, the test results are in. Ms. Sutherland is pregnant with Donald's baby."

Damian sneered and walked out of the room. He headed straight to the empty unit on the left side of the second floor, where a large bed had been set up in the middle, and a huge wooden trunk sat in the corner.

He ordered the bodyguards to get Donald, whose arms and legs had already been broken and whose mouth was sealed with duct tape, into the trunk.

After dismissing the bodyguards, Damian walked up to the trunk, his sharp gaze boring into Donald, who lay unconscious in the trunk. He turned to Vincent and said, "When his sisters get here, wake him up, then shut the lid. Send him to the hospital later tonight and have him castrated."

Vincent nodded. Damian let out a huff and asked, "Has that bitch gotten rid of the bastard yet?"

Vincent answered, "Robert's still at the hospital. Our people can't get into Ms. Sutherland's hospital room."

"Watch them closely. If she dares keep the bastard, arrange for someone to 'help' her take care of it."

"Yes, sir. The driver's already picked up Donald's sisters. They'll be here in half an hour, tops."

Damian grunted in response and walked out of the bedroom. "When the car pulls up downstairs, wake Donald up. I want him to hear his sisters moaning and screaming beneath me."

"Yes, sir." Vincent followed Damian out of the room and strode over to the bodyguards waiting outside, assigning them to their posts as Damian had instructed.

Half an hour later, upon hearing a car pull up downstairs, Vincent headed back into the bedroom with two bodyguards. A few minutes later, when they came back out, chaotic footsteps sounded on the stairs, growing closer and closer.

Vincent nodded at Damian. The latter, sitting on the chair in the living room, knew the bodyguards had brought Donald's sisters up and that Donald had been woken.

Damian ground his teeth, stood, and watched as the bodyguards pushed two young women with duct tape over their mouths into the unfinished apartment. He walked up to them at an unhurried pace and was momentarily stunned by how beautiful they were.

The sisters were identical twins, down to their outfits—matching cream-colored long dresses under black knit cardigans. They were slim, with graceful figures, flawless skin, and delicate features.

Their hands were tied behind their backs, which only made their chests strain against the fabric, their waists look even more slender, and their long legs even more eye-catching. But those doe-like eyes that should've sparkled with vivacity were now wide with terror.

Satisfied, Damian nodded and tilted his head, signaling the bodyguards to drag the sisters into the bedroom. Then he followed at a measured pace and ordered the bodyguards out of the room.

Moments later, the sound of the women yelping in panic rang out from inside. That was soon followed by broken, hysterical sobbing.

After what seemed like ages, Damian finally got out of bed. He grabbed the clothes hanging over the wooden chair by the bed, lit a cigarette, and sauntered to the edge of the mattress. When he saw the twin smears of blood where the sisters lay, he took a long drag of his cigarette and let a wicked smile curl his lips.

"Know why your brother called you?" he asked. "Because he seduced my wife and knocked her up. If I hadn't found out in time, I'd be raising his kid in a matter of months."

He took another deep drag and sat at the edge of the bed, casually smacking the nearer sister on the ass.

The two women's sobbing that had been echoing through the room suddenly cut off, as if an invisible hand had closed around their throats. The young woman on the left jolted like a startled bunny, her shoulders shaking and her sobs turning into choked gasps.

Both women turned to look at Damian. The instant they realized he was still naked, they flinched like startled ostriches and yanked the sheet up, diving under it. They wrapped it tightly around their bodies, leaving only their tear-filled, panicked eyes peeking out.

Damian lounged there, blowing a smoke ring, unfazed by their reaction. He took another deep pull on the cigarette, then flicked the butt away carelessly.

After resting for a few minutes, he got off the bed and quickly pulled his clothes back on. Once he was dressed, he went straight to the wooden trunk. He turned to Donald's sisters and fixed his gaze on them, a cruel smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

He rapped lightly on the lid of the trunk, as if wanting to intimidate the young women. Then, he crooked a finger at the two of them and, in a tone that made it clear there was no room for argument, said, "Come here."

They just shook their heads, refusing to budge.

Damian's expression went dark. He glared at them and barked, "Get over here, or I'll tell my men to come in!"

The words jolted the sisters. They stiffened and exchanged a horrified look, seeing nothing but despair and helplessness in each other's eyes. After a brief, suffocating silence, the woman on the left finally broke. Trembling, she began to inch toward the edge of the bed.

The woman on the right hesitated, but when she saw her sister moving, she gritted her teeth and forced herself to follow, slowly climbing off the bed as well.

Once they were on their feet, the twins looked lost and uneasy. Still clutching the sheet tightly around themselves as if it were a shield, they shuffled forward in tiny, reluctant steps toward the trunk, every step feeling like it weighed a ton.

Damian flipped open the lid, grabbed the closer sister by the arm, and yanked her to him. The moment she saw Donald curled up inside the trunk, she let out a piercing scream.

Damian and Isabel arrived at Metropolitan Plaza on Liberty Avenue. They spent an hour there—Damian picked out six outfits for Isabel, then bought six more sets of the same clothes for Rosalie. After that, he had her try on several sets of diamond jewelry. All told, he dropped over five million dollars, buying two of every design. When Vincent called and said he'd secured a reservation at Vine & Vault, Damian insisted that Isabel put on the new clothes and jewelry before he took her to Arcadia Atrium. Vine & Vault, known for being exclusive and having only three tables, was there.Damian smiled when he saw Vincent waiting outside the restaurant. He stopped and waited for Vincent to come over."I spent five grand to buy a table reservation. Your cousin Dennis is already in there with Calvin and Wayne. You'll see them as soon as you go in," Vincent said.Damian gave him a thumbs-up and pointed toward the restaurant across the way. "You and the bodyguards can go enjoy yourselves there

Vincent said, "They do know. This morning, Mr. Kingston from our side called Avenor Group and told Mr. Jeremy to cut off all cooperation with the Sutherland family."That confused Damian even more. "Could it be that Robert called Grandpa and used that bitch's bastard to pressure Grandpa into continuing to support them?"When Vincent didn't respond after several seconds, Damian went on, "Call Vine & Vault and get me a table there. I wanna see if Uncle Jeremy and his family really have the guts to keep working with the Sutherlands."Vincent agreed and hung up. Damian stood there thinking for a bit, then turned and walked over to Rosalie and Isabel. His gaze swept over the two of them before he smiled and asked, "Which one of you is coming out to dinner with me tonight? I'm only taking one. The other stays home and waits for us."Rosalie's face went pale after she traded a look with Isabel. She hurried forward and clutched Damian's arm, panic written all over her face. "M-Mr. Halston,

Rosalie thought about it. "I don't think so. After Donald graduated from college, he stayed in Saltonvale and hardly ever came home. When Isabel and I got into college here in Saltonvale, he still rarely came by campus to see us."But every month, he secretly wired us 2,000 dollars for living expenses and told us not to let Mom and Dad know. During our senior-year internship, he got us into AeroMax Tech. After we graduated, we officially joined the company. Donald also told us that if anyone at work ever picked on us, we had to tell him."As she rambled on, Damian pursed his lips, not knowing what to say. His gaze slid down to her legs, which had suddenly pressed tightly together. Then he shifted his eyes back up and grinned as he looked at her."You know, when you tapped in halfway earlier, did Isabel… Do you think she's getting up to something naughty in the bathroom now?"Rosalie's cheeks burned like they'd been held over an open flame. She pressed her lips together and shook he

Damian said, "Your resignation paperwork is all done, and my company has finished your onboarding, too. Tomorrow morning, before I head out, text me your bank account numbers. You two can just stay home—you don't need to go in to work."The company pays on the 15th of every month, so you can check your accounts on the afternoon of the 15th to see if the salary's in."Rosalie slowly pushed herself upright and reached out to touch Damian's arm. She murmured, "Can I go wash up?"He couldn't help laughing as he nodded. He watched as she hastily shuffled off the bed, one hand pressed to her lower belly as she ran for the bathroom. When he saw Isabel sit up, looking at a loss for what to do with herself, he lifted his arm in invitation. After a brief pause, she scooted over and nestled into the crook of his arm.He stubbed out his cigarette, his palm gliding over her smooth skin as he said, "You still haven't answered my question from earlier. You and Rosalie joined AeroMax Tech because

Around 3:30 pm, Eugene from the legal department knocked on Damian's office door and came in. Damian set the document he was reviewing down and looked up at Eugene, who had stopped in front of the desk."Mr. Halston, I just got back from AeroMax Tech. I spent over an hour negotiating with their HR. Both Ms. Rosalie and Isabel Lodge have signed ten-year contracts with AeroMax, and the company refused to let them resign."After some negotiation, we agreed to pay a penalty of 120,000 dollars each. Their resignations have already been processed, and Jim Rook from our HR just asked me which department you want them in."Damian cursed inwardly, then sighed and shook his head. With a sneer, he said, "Bold of them, demanding 120 grand for new hires who've only been there a few months. Do they think it's that easy to scam me out of my money?"Tell Jim that the twins are coming in as my secretary and assistant. They don't need to clock in or sit in the office. Each of them gets a fixed salar

Farrah stared at Winona dazedly for a moment, then suddenly cried out, "You don't get it! I'm doing all of this for our family. Hurry up and get me my phone—I need to call Donald!""You still want to call him? There's no way the Halston family will acknowledge a loser like him as part of the family," Winona snapped."Stop talking and just give me my phone! Tell David that I'm not signing that divorce agreement, not unless he brings Damian here!"Winona shot to her feet, glaring at Farrah. "I was right beside your father when Mr. Halston Senior called him yesterday, and I heard every word. He made it clear that if you don't sign that divorce agreement, the Halston family is taking back the two billion they invested in us.""Give me my phone! I promise you they're not taking back a single cent!" Farrah shouted.Winona's brows furrowed tightly as she studied Farrah for a good few seconds. When Farrah urged her for the phone again, she gritted her teeth and walked to the couch. She ru
