Burgers at the finish line

I don't know how long we have been running for, or what distance we have covered, but all I know is that I collapse just as I cross the finish line to the sound of cheering. The next thing I know, someone is helping me into a seat and handing me water, which I foolishly didn't bring with me. And the little cups that were given out along the way were no help.

"Another round of applause for these wonderful ladies, who pushed on instead of giving up. Coming seventh and eighth, to finish in a time of four hours and forty minutes."

'What? I have been running for that long?' I ask myself, then groan inwardly.

"Thank you both for participating, and coming up in the top ten. Here are your medals." The man said, before placing the cold medal around my neck.

I take it in my fingers to see that I have the eighth place one, Natasha smiles at the seventh place.

"You two did wonder. Hope to see you again next year." He asks.

I can't answer. I fear that if I open my mouth, then that will be the
