LOGINChapter Four
Julian did not waste a single second asserting his control. The moment the dining hall doors closed behind the guards, he stepped toward me, his dark eyes fixed on my broken, filthy state with pure malice.
āDo you know what a toy is, Fox?ā Julian asked, his voice smooth as silk but sharp as glass. He paced around me like a predator inspecting damaged meat. āA toy has no voice. A toy does not eat at the masterās table, nor does it sit when it is tired. A toy exists solely to be used, degraded, and broken whenever its owner seeks amusement.ā
My blood ran cold, but the bitter rage inside me flared up again. I held my ground, clutching my bad wrist to my chest. āI am not anyone's toy. I am a prince from the Averon kingdom.ā
Julian stopped dead in his tracks. A cold, dark chuckle escaped his lips before his hand shot out like a strike of lightning.
The force of his strike sent me sprawling onto the stone floor, my bad hand slamming against the ground with a sickening thud. White-hot pain blinded my vision as I choked back a sob, my cheek burning where his claws had grazed my skin.
āYou are nothing,ā Julian spat, stepping over me and bringing his heavy leather boot down onto my bad hand, grinding his heel into my swollen fingers just as my father had done. āYou speak when you are spoken to, stray. If you ever mention your worthless bloodline in my presence again, I will cut your tongue out myself.ā
āEnough,ā Evanderās deep, booming voice echoed through the hall.
Julian lifted his boot, instantly smoothing down his silk robes with an innocent, affectionate smile as he turned back to Evander. āI am only teaching your new possession some basic manners, darling. He needs to learn his place before he embarrasses you.ā
I scrambled backward on my hands and knees, gasping for breath as tears spilled over my eyelashes. I looked up, expecting Evander to intervene, but the Black Panther simply watched with cold, unfeeling golden eyes.
āGet up,ā Evander commanded me, his voice scraping against my raw nerves like gravel.
I forced my trembling body off the floor, refusing to bow my head. I glared straight at Julian, my chest heaving with utter hatred. āYou think you are powerful because you hide behind him? You are just a cruel coward.ā
Julianās eyes flashed with lethal rage, his ears pinning back instantly. But before he could step forward again, Evander moved.
In a fraction of a second, he closed the distance between us. His thick, heavy hand clamped tightly around the back of my neck, his claws digging warningly into my skin as he hauled me forward. The brutal intensity of his predator aura washed over me, completely paralyzing my muscles and forcing my Fox ears to pin flat against my head in terror.
āYou do not learn, do you?ā Evander growled near my ear, his voice low and dangerous. āI told you that you belong to me. Your arrogance ends tonight.ā
Without another word, Evander yanked the iron chain attached to my neck collar, dragging me out of the dining hall. My weak legs stumbled against the stone floor as he pulled me down dark, narrow hallways, moving away from the main estate and deep into the secluded, subterranean quarters of the fortress.
He shoved open a heavy oak door at the very end of the corridor and threw me inside. I crashed onto the cold floor, my breath hitching as the heavy door slammed shut behind us.
Evander towered over me, unbuckling his heavy leather belt and tossing it onto the table. His golden eyes glowed in the dim candlelight, devoid of any warmth or mercy.
āYou want to challenge my mate? You want to act like a proud prince?ā He purred darkly, stepping toward me until his immense shadow completely swallowed my trembling frame. He grabbed my good wrist with a single hand, pinning my arm against the stone floor while his other hand clamped firmly over my jaw, digging his fingers painfully into my skin.
āI will remind you what you are every single day until that pride is completely erased.ā
He leaned down close, his scarred face inches from mine, his sharp fangs grazing warningly against my throat in a brutal, possessive mark of absolute ownership. I thrashed against his grip, kicking my legs and twisting my body, but his weight was an inescapable iron wall holding me completely powerless beneath him.
āYou belong to me,ā he growled softly, forcing me to stare straight into his glowing eyes. āYour life, your pain, and your submission belong entirely to me.ā
A sudden, sharp knock rattled the heavy oak door.
Evander did not freeze. He did not hesitate, nor did he pull away. His grip on my jaw only tightened, his heavy weight pressing down on me with absolute indifference as if my struggling body was nothing more than a cushion beneath him. He slowly turned his head toward the door, his glowing golden eyes narrowing in mild irritation at the disturbance.
The heavy iron door swung open, but it was not Julian standing in the doorway.
A tall, heavily armored panther guard stood framed in the dim torchlight of the hallway, his head bowed low, keeping his eyes firmly fixed on the stone floor to avoid looking at the master's private business.
āSpeak,ā Evander commanded, his thick voice echoing coldly through the small room, keeping me pinned firmly against the floor beneath his massive frame.
āMy lord, forgive the intrusion,ā the guard said, his voice trembling slightly under the pressure of Evanderās heavy predator aura.
āThe scout has returned from the eastern border. He brings urgent news regarding the mission you assigned
Chaoter EightI woke up when heavy iron chains rattled violently against the floorboards. My head was pounding with a deep, sickening ache from the Dragon Kingās slap, and the bitter taste of dried blood coated my lips. I forced my heavy eyes open to see the carriage doors thrown wide. Cold, thin mountain air rushed into my lungs as two heavily armored guards grabbed my chains and dragged me out into the freezing night. My feet dragged uselessly against the frozen cobblestones as I looked up. We were inside a massive fortress built directly into snow-capped peaks. The towering walls were made of black stone, illuminated by burning green torches that flickered against the dark sky. The air smelled of ash, iron, and a heavy predator scent that made my Fox instincts scream in terror. The guards hauled me through massive metal gates, up winding stone stairs, and threw me onto the hard floor of a grand hall. My weak legs collapsed beneath me, the heavy iron collar around my neck digging pa
Chapter SevenThe carriage bounced violently over the rough mountain road, throwing my limp body against the wooden walls with every turn. The heavy black cloak trapped the heat around my face, making it hard to breathe through the thick fog of Julian's poison. My arms were bound tightly with cold iron chains behind my back. Every time the carriage hit a dip, a sharp spike of pain shot straight through my broken left hand. I lay on the dirty floorboards, completely helpless, listening to the heavy pounding of horse hooves outside.I have been sold again. Is this how my name will end an heir, has now been used by those who don't even deserve my look. Julian had poisoned me and handed me over to someone even worse. The Dragon King.Tales of the Dragon Kingdom, had reached the Averon palace when I was just a child. They were brutal, merciless monsters who ruled the northern peaks. If Evander was a terrifying beast, the Dragon King was a nightmare. After what felt like hours, the carriage
Chapter SixThe footsteps faded away, leaving me in total silence.I scrambled off the small bed, my heart hammering against my ribs. I stood on my tiptoes to look through the high vent, but there was nothing there. Just darkness and a faint metallic smell in the air.I couldn't sleep all night. I just lay there in the dark, holding my bandaged hand to my chest as my stomach hurt from hunger.Early the next morning, a guard unlocked the door. He threw a plain tunic on the floor and told me to get up.I worked all through the morning. My body was completely weak, and my left hand was useless under its tight bandages. I wiped tables, swept the long halls, and carried wooden trays with my right arm. My head felt light from starving, but I had to keep my mouth shut and do my work.Around noon, just as I finished sweeping the last corridor, a guard stepped up to me."Master Julian wants to see you in the main salon," he said. "Right now."My chest tightened, my heart beating so fast becaus
Chapter Five The heavy iron door slammed shut, leaving me trapped in absolute silence.I lay frozen on the cold stone floor, listening to Evanderās heavy footsteps fade down the corridor. My body throbbed with a dull, relentless ache. Every breath felt heavy, tasting of dust and cold iron, but the mental exhaustion weighed far more than the physical pain.I slowly pulled my knees against my chest, wrapping my reddish Fox tail tightly around my legs to trap whatever little body heat I had left. How has my life turned into this nightmare? Only a week ago, I was a prince of the Averon Kingdom, holding onto the foolish hope that my father would eventually see through my stepbrothers' lies. Now, I was a chained slave in a foreign territory, bought like livestock and shoved into a dark cellar by a ruthless beast.Escape seemed impossible. The fortress was built into solid cliffside rock, crawling with heavily armed panther guards, and my own body was battered and broken. But as I stared in

Chapter ThreeThe heavy iron key turned in the lock with a harsh, metallic screech.I scrambled backward on the stone floor, my back hitting the cold wall as the door swung open. The massive man stepped into the room, his broad shoulders easily blocking out the torchlight from the hallway. He looked down at me, his glowing golden eyes narrowing as he took in my trembling form.āGet up,ā he commanded, his gravelly voice echoing off the stone walls.I clutched my broken hand against my chest, my reddish Fox tail pinned tight against my leg. My heart hammered against my ribs, but the bitter, helpless rage that had been building inside me for days finally boiled over. I was tired of being dragged around like a dead carcass. I was tired of being quiet.āNo,ā I rasped, my dry throat burning as I forced the word out.The man paused, one dark eyebrow arching in slight surprise. He took a slow, heavy step into the room, his suffocating predator aura surging forward like a physical wall.āWhat
