Aftermath and Awkward Comforts

Author: Ada
(Freya's POV)

Getting Aaron Steel into the hotel room was like trying to drag a sleeping alpha wolf uphill. His unconscious weight seemed to increase with every step, and by the time Olivia and I managed to heave him onto the bed, I was breathless and sweating despite the cool night air.

"There," I panted, stepping back from the bed where Aaron lay sprawled in his expensive suit, still reeking of moonlight wine. "Mission accomplished."

I turned to look at Olivia, meeting her uncertain gaze. The message in my eyes was clear: it was time for us to leave.

"Should we really just leave him like this?" Olivia asked, hesitation evident in her voice. "Maybe we should call one of his packmates to come get him."

"And how exactly would we do that?" I asked practically. "His phone is locked, and we don't know his passcode."

Olivia bit her lip, still looking at Aaron with concern. Her infatuation with him was almost painful to witness.

"He's an Alpha, Olivia," I reminded her firmly. "He's pe

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Repentance and Healing

(Freya's POV)After dinner, my already rosy lips were even redder from the spice. Ryan, unlike my composed state, was sweating profusely despite the winter chill. As we left the restaurant, he wiped his forehead with a tissue repeatedly."Miss Snow, you sure can handle your spice!" Ryan exclaimed, looking at me with admiration mixed with disbelief.I smiled without responding. In truth, I hadn't eaten much of the fiery dishes. I'd taken only small bites throughout the meal, drinking water frequently and mostly eating the plain white rice. Aaron, surprisingly, had finished the entire bowl of porridge I'd ordered for him.The sight of him eating that simple porridge so gratefully had stirred something unexpected in my chest. I pushed the feeling aside."The porridge was good?" I found myself asking as we walked back to the hotel.Aaron glanced at me, his golden eyes unreadable. "Yes. Thank you."The simple acknowledgment made my wolf Bella stir restlessly within me. I didn't under

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Taking Care of Aaron

(Freya's POV)As soon as I felt Aaron Steel's hand, a stark coldness made me shiver. His skin was ice-cold, and his face looked terribly pale.He quickly pulled his hand back once I sat down. I broke the awkward silence."Didn't you say I couldn't come in?"Aaron stayed quiet, but I caught something in his golden eyes. Almost like approval."Did you process your discharge properly?" I asked."Otherwise? Wait to come back and stay forever?" His tone was harsh.Despite his rudeness, I couldn't get angry. We were going to see Elder Katherine. But his condition worried me."If you're not fully recovered, it's fine to stay longer. Aren't you supposed to be recuperating?"Aaron shot me a sharp look. "Do you care if I recuperate?"I smiled lightly. "Why not? Don't forget, you're the big boss investing in our company."His eyes darkened. His lips grew even paler. The memory of his cold hand worried me more.I called a flight attendant. "Could I get a blanket?"When she brought it,

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Hidden Illness and Unspoken Affection

(Ryan's POV)I watched Alpha Steel's face darken after Miss Snow left. His jaw was clenched tight, and I could practically feel the dangerous Alpha energy radiating from him."Alpha Steel," I said carefully, "you always said you wanted to handle the discharge procedures yourself. Miss Snow didn't suggest that."His golden eyes flashed with irritation. "What's your point, Ryan?"I took a breath, knowing I was walking on thin ice. "I'm just saying, Miss Snow never intended to confess why she was bringing you food. You're the one who pushed for answers."Aaron's expression grew even darker. But I pressed on, emboldened by our recent interactions."If you want to keep seeing Miss Snow, maybe you shouldn't be so direct about everything. Sometimes being too transparent pushes people away."Aaron fell silent, which I took as a good sign. At least he was considering my advice."Think about it," I continued. "She came every day. She cooked for you personally. That has to mean something,

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Clear Transaction

(Third-person's POV)After leaving the hospital, Freya headed straight for her consulting firm. The morning traffic was heavier than usual, causing her to arrive slightly late. As she approached the building entrance, she encountered the bespectacled young wolf from yesterday.Upon seeing her, his face immediately brightened. He hurried over with an eager smile."Good morning!" He extended his hand enthusiastically. "I'm Leo Parker, your new colleague. We met briefly yesterday in the elevator."Freya shook his hand politely. "Nice to meet you, Leo."Leo's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I have to admit, I was completely wrong yesterday. I thought you were just another job applicant like me. How did you end up at this small company? Did you have inside knowledge about Steel Corporation's investment?"Freya couldn't help but chuckle at his enthusiasm. "Well, I suppose you could say I knew before everyone else, though not in the conventional sense.""Really? That's amazing!" Leo bo

(Freya's POV)"No," I denied Marcus's accusation. "Marcus, it's not what you think. I feel I'm not worthy of you. Don't waste your time on me anymore."Marcus was exceptional - good family, handsome, excellent character. Any she-wolf would be lucky to have him.Marcus shook his head. "You think you're not worthy of me? But Freya, shouldn't you ask me? I think you are worthy. Do you still have reservations?"He stepped closer. "Or are your reservations about him? If you don't return to the Northern territories...""Five years," I interrupted."Five years have passed. I know you've been good to me. I tried to accept you, but I can't. I told you before that I can't reciprocate your feelings. Please don't be so good to me."Marcus's face hardened. "But I can't do it. I can't stop being good to you. I can't stop watching over you. I certainly can't bear to see you with another Alpha."He grabbed my shoulders. "You know it's been five years. I've been so good to you for five years. I

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Somber Revelation

(Aaron's POV)"Three years ago?" Freya asked again when I didn't answer. Her violet gaze was fixed on my face. She wouldn't give up until she got an answer. Her eyes and demeanor appeared unnaturally calm. Her eye sockets weren't even red. It seemed strange given that she had fainted from shock earlier. My lips pressed together. "Shouldn't you rest more?""Aaron, I'm asking you a question."After a long silence, I nodded. "Roughly.""Roughly?" Freya let out a soft sneer. "You don't even know when your own grandmother passed away? What do you mean 'roughly'?"I frowned at her tone."Why? Can't you speak?" Freya challenged. My lips were tightly pressed. My face was pale. I had been sick, even spitting blood, yet I had stayed by her bedside. Now my face was ashen, my lips blue, but Freya showed no sympathy. Her only concern was Elder Katherine."Speak! When exactly was it?"After a long pause, I finally said, "Three years ago, on New Year's Eve. She had a sudden heart attack a
