With this thought, I bolted out of bed and ran barefoot through the hallway. My heart pounded against my ribcage as I rushed toward the living room, desperate to find any sign of Olivia.

As I rounded the corner, I collided with a solid figure. Strong hands caught my shoulders, steadying me. I looked up to find Marcus Cross's concerned face inches from mine.

"Freya? What's wrong?" His voice carried genuine worry as his eyes quickly assessed me for injury.

"Olivia," I gasped, still trying to catch my breath. "Have you seen her? She's not in her room, and her bed hasn't been slept in. I'm worried she went back to that hotel where Aaron is."

Marcus's expression shifted subtly. "She's safe," he assured me, his tone measured. "I had some of my pack members watching the hotel until about an hour ago."

"Your pack members were watching the hotel?" I stared at him incredulously. "How did you know where Aaron was staying? And why would you have them watching Olivia?"
