Unveiled Assets

Penulis: Ada
(James's POV)

Aaron's expression darkened instantly at the receptionist's words. His jaw clenched tight, golden eyes narrowing dangerously as he leaned closer.

"Where did she go?" he demanded, his voice deadly quiet.

The young receptionist swallowed hard. "I don't have that information, Alpha King."

I could tell she was hiding something. Her scent carried hints of deception.

"Alpha Steel," I said cautiously, "hotel staff don't typically disclose guest movements."

Aaron ignored me, focusing on the nervous receptionist.

"Are you certain you don't know?" he pressed. "Or are you protecting her?"

"I wouldn't dare lie to the Alpha King," she insisted.

"But you're not telling me everything," Aaron countered, his Alpha presence filling the lobby. Nearby wolves lowered their gazes instinctively.

"Did she leave alone?" Aaron asked, his tone falsely calm.

The hesitation before her answer was telling.

"Sir, I—"

"Answer me!" Aaron's fist slammed the counter, making everyone jump.

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Hidden Illness and Unspoken Affection

(Ryan's POV)I watched Alpha Steel's face darken after Miss Snow left. His jaw was clenched tight, and I could practically feel the dangerous Alpha energy radiating from him."Alpha Steel," I said carefully, "you always said you wanted to handle the discharge procedures yourself. Miss Snow didn't suggest that."His golden eyes flashed with irritation. "What's your point, Ryan?"I took a breath, knowing I was walking on thin ice. "I'm just saying, Miss Snow never intended to confess why she was bringing you food. You're the one who pushed for answers."Aaron's expression grew even darker. But I pressed on, emboldened by our recent interactions."If you want to keep seeing Miss Snow, maybe you shouldn't be so direct about everything. Sometimes being too transparent pushes people away."Aaron fell silent, which I took as a good sign. At least he was considering my advice."Think about it," I continued. "She came every day. She cooked for you personally. That has to mean something,

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Clear Transaction

(Third-person's POV)After leaving the hospital, Freya headed straight for her consulting firm. The morning traffic was heavier than usual, causing her to arrive slightly late. As she approached the building entrance, she encountered the bespectacled young wolf from yesterday.Upon seeing her, his face immediately brightened. He hurried over with an eager smile."Good morning!" He extended his hand enthusiastically. "I'm Leo Parker, your new colleague. We met briefly yesterday in the elevator."Freya shook his hand politely. "Nice to meet you, Leo."Leo's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I have to admit, I was completely wrong yesterday. I thought you were just another job applicant like me. How did you end up at this small company? Did you have inside knowledge about Steel Corporation's investment?"Freya couldn't help but chuckle at his enthusiasm. "Well, I suppose you could say I knew before everyone else, though not in the conventional sense.""Really? That's amazing!" Leo bo

(Freya's POV)"No," I denied Marcus's accusation. "Marcus, it's not what you think. I feel I'm not worthy of you. Don't waste your time on me anymore."Marcus was exceptional - good family, handsome, excellent character. Any she-wolf would be lucky to have him.Marcus shook his head. "You think you're not worthy of me? But Freya, shouldn't you ask me? I think you are worthy. Do you still have reservations?"He stepped closer. "Or are your reservations about him? If you don't return to the Northern territories...""Five years," I interrupted."Five years have passed. I know you've been good to me. I tried to accept you, but I can't. I told you before that I can't reciprocate your feelings. Please don't be so good to me."Marcus's face hardened. "But I can't do it. I can't stop being good to you. I can't stop watching over you. I certainly can't bear to see you with another Alpha."He grabbed my shoulders. "You know it's been five years. I've been so good to you for five years. I

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Somber Revelation

(Aaron's POV)"Three years ago?" Freya asked again when I didn't answer. Her violet gaze was fixed on my face. She wouldn't give up until she got an answer. Her eyes and demeanor appeared unnaturally calm. Her eye sockets weren't even red. It seemed strange given that she had fainted from shock earlier. My lips pressed together. "Shouldn't you rest more?""Aaron, I'm asking you a question."After a long silence, I nodded. "Roughly.""Roughly?" Freya let out a soft sneer. "You don't even know when your own grandmother passed away? What do you mean 'roughly'?"I frowned at her tone."Why? Can't you speak?" Freya challenged. My lips were tightly pressed. My face was pale. I had been sick, even spitting blood, yet I had stayed by her bedside. Now my face was ashen, my lips blue, but Freya showed no sympathy. Her only concern was Elder Katherine."Speak! When exactly was it?"After a long pause, I finally said, "Three years ago, on New Year's Eve. She had a sudden heart attack a

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   When Truth Shatters

(Ryan's POV)I was explaining to Freya Snow how Alpha Aaron's condition had gotten worse after Elder Katherine's death. No one could control Aaron anymore without the pack matriarch."Even Caroline Redwood can't get through to him," I said. "But you're different, Miss Snow. He actually listens to you."Freya stood beside me in the corridor, but something was wrong. Her face went completely pale."Miss Snow? Are you okay?"She didn't answer. Her violet eyes looked distant and unfocused.I was still talking about Aaron refusing medical help after his grandmother died when I heard a soft thud.I turned around. Freya had collapsed on the floor."Miss Snow!" I dropped down beside her. "Freya! Can you hear me?"She didn't respond. Her breathing was shallow and her skin felt cold.Panic hit me hard. I picked her up and ran toward the healer's station."Help! I need help!"(Aaron's POV)I woke up in a private room. The smell of antiseptic filled my nose. IV drips were connected to

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Northern Territories?

(Freya's POV)"Northern territories?" I paused, staring at my phone screen in disbelief. The IP address clearly showed that this mysterious "Night Wolf" was located in the same city where I now lived. My heart began to race as the implications sank in. When I had chosen this particular Northern territory city for my consulting firm, I believed it would be a quiet place to rebuild my life. A place free from old acquaintances and painful memories.Yet here I was, already entangled with Aaron Steel through his investment in my company. Now this generous benefactor of my children's livestreams lived in the same city.I tried to rationalize the situation. Aaron was now just a "normal business partner." The investment was purely professional. Nothing more. But despite my logical reasoning, I spent the entire night tossing and turning restlessly. My mind kept drifting back to Aaron's severe illness. The pale complexion, the damp forehead, his collapse at the hotel doorway.A wave of un
